HADES Resisting Success line-up reunites-Announces only US show
For the first time since 1986, Hades classic Resisting Success line-up will perform together for two shows in April-the first will be a 10pm show on Wednesday April 21st at Dingbatz www.Dingbatznj.com in Clifton NJ. Drummer Tom Coombs will perform with Hades for the first time since the cd Exist To Resist was released in 1994. Guitarist Scott LePage (who actually played bass on Saviorself and The Downside in 1999 and 2000)returns to lead guitar for Hades for the first time since recording Resisting Success.
"The German promoter from Keep It True kept telling me fans would really like an old school performance of songs from the first two albums", said guitarist Dan Lorenzo. Lorenzo continued, "When I relayed our conversations to (Hades bassist) Jimmy Schulman, Jimmy asked me what I thought about doing the show with Tom on drums and maybe having both Scott LePage and Ed Fuhrman perform. Ed passed on it, but Scott was really psyched when we first pitched the idea to him. It's a bit difficult with Jimmy living in L.A. and Scott in Dallas, but they'll both fly up for some rehearsals around the holidays then again right before we play at Keep It True. The night before we leave we'll be at Dingbatz on a Wednesday night...we'll go on at 10pm sharp."
Vocalist Alan Tecchio said, "I am so stoked that the legendary T. Coombs is going to be behind the drum kit for these two shows and I am sure the fans will feel the same way. Hades has made some great recordings since his departure but his signature style helped give the first four Hades recordings their unique sound. He and bassist Jimmy Schulman gave the band the progressive tag that got prog fans into what was essentially a thrash band."
As to why drummer T.Coombs rejoined at this time, Coombs said,
"I feel now Hades has come full circle. After all these years apart the things that led to the break up of the band do not matter anymore, and the good memories will inspire us to perform these songs again and enjoy the journey that started so long ago. I am also amazed that our die hard fans have kept the songs alive for almost 25 years. As a founding member of the band, it just feels right."

HADES HOT SAUCE IS HERE!
Fresh on the heels of the announcement that the original HADES line-up is reuniting for 2 shows this April, comes Hades Hot Sauce. Seriously, what band name invokes heat more than Hades? Hades hot sauce (Persephone's Fire) was created, not just as another novelty hot sauce that burns your mouth, but as a real tasteful hot sauce with a smokey flavor.
Hades vocalist Alan Tecchio said, "There are lots of hot sauces out there that try to out-burn each other. Persephone's Fire actually tastes great but still carries some kick for those that like it hot."

Face the Fat Reality:One of my favorite songs from the second CD, an interesting rhythm- one of my transition songs.
More structure, less fills, groove, big sound and the ending was meant to speed up..............LOL

The Cross: A very early Hades song with a deep meaning and a message.
One of the only songs with three versions by three singers.

Germany's Rock It Up Records to rerelease Hades cd Exist To Resist

Germany's Rock It Up Records will release a special limited edition of Hades 1995 release Exist To Resist with extensive artwork and bonus tracks. Exist To Resist was Hades 3rd studio cd and was comprised primarily of songs written before the break up of the band in the summer of 1989. The two new songs at the time were "Doubt" and the title track.
"Doubt was actually a song Alan and I were trying to finish writing for the 3rd Non-Fiction cd, It's A Wonderful Lie" said Hades guitarist Dan Lorenzo. "Then I came up with the opening riffs of the song Exist To Resist and Ed (Fuhrman) helped me with the chorus. Alan wrote the melody and lyrics and it quickly turned into one of my and Tom (Coombs) favorite Hades songs ever."
Bonus tracks will include "Rogues March" from Hades earliest recordings, "1974" from Dan Lorenzo's 3rd solo cd (which also features Hades bassist Jimmy Schulman and LePage) and "Techcceleration" by Hades vocalist Alan Tecchio's new band Autumn Hour.
Scott LePage said, "Exist To Resist is probably my favorite Hades album. I was asked to play bass on it and it just seemed to come together almost effortlessly. I think we rehearsed 5 times before we went to the studio. I loved the more laid back vibe it has, and it was great fun to record."
Hades recently announced that their classic Resisting Success line up would play together (for the first time since 1986) for two shows in April of 2010. This included their appearance at the Keep It True Festival in Germany.

On Wed, Aug 12, 2009 at 9:36 AM, Q+A WITH HADES BASSIST JIMMY SCHULMAN

1) We hear it was YOUR idea to recruit original Hades drummer T.Coombs for these two shows in April...true?
Yes. Should I say more?... I thought Tommy and Scott would be perfect for an old school reunion show... It's so funny though, Tommy and I really never worked together on our parts. He always followed Dan, ( even during a Dan guitar solo, and I always followed him, you go figure all this shit out...) I was Entwhistle to his Moon... John Entwhistle has always said,'' I'm only as good as Keith ever was... all I ever did was follow that crazy FUCK...'' Personally I love crazy drummers, and only had the pleasure of 3 in my life. And all I ever did was follow that crazy FUCK, being T.Coombs...

2) When you joined HADES in 1985 did you ever think you would perform shows with the band twenty five years later?
Fuck Yeah !!! I thought we were gonna make it man...I was gonna be a rock star... I now cut hair for a living... ( so, so, so, so sad...) But I do it in LA... At a salon called Epitome, in Bel Air...( nice work if you can get it...) I used to be a Bassplayin' Hairdresser, I am now a  Hairdressin' Ass..

3) What are you most looking forward in regard to these shows?
Groupies! Never got any...It was always about the singer and guitar player. Hopefully now it's my time, Bajista Time... ( being the ''Su Bajista Original''...)

4) What have you been listening to lately?
Black Keys, Dylan, and right now 1st RUSH album... 35 yrs. later, still can't get enough... Watch out Dan here comes GEDDY...

Q+A WITH RESISTING SUCCESS GUITARIST SCOTT LePAGE
1) When you joined HADES in 1985 did you ever think you would perform shows with same line up twenty five years later?
Yes, a psychic told me in 1992 that I would play with the original Hades lineup again in 2011. She was off by one year.
2) Will you play Ed's "If At First You Don't Succeed" guitar solos similar to the original recording or put your own spin on them?
I will try my best to learn Ed's solos but naturally, they will have my own spin on them as Ed and I are technically different players.

3) Are you in any bands down there in Dallas?
I am currently in a Judas Priest Tribute band called Judas Rising.
http://www.myspace.com/judasrisingband
4) Is your son Scottie better than you on guitar yet?
Technically, yes but I still have some experience points on him!

Why did you decide to play these Hades reunion shows?

T. Coombs:
I feel now Hades has come full circle. After all these years apart the things that led to the break up of the band do not matter anymore and the good memories will inspire us to perform these songs again and enjoy the journey that started so long ago.
I am also amazed that our die hard fans have kept the songs alive for almost 25 years.
As a founding member of the band, it just feels right.

What are your favorite memories from this line-up back in '85 and '86?

I remember Dan and I working on Night Stalker, Dan was playing bass. The first Hades line up had gone there own way. A short time later Alan, Scott and Jimmy joined and Resisting Success was born.

I remember playing with Scott in his basement just before he was in Hades, Jamming on Iron Maiden and Judas Priest songs.

I remember the chatter in between takes when we would do our demos at Fox Studios at times comical.

I remember the road trips driving and repairing the bus it was a great experience.

I remember working with Dan on songs and new riffs, because we would always be early to rehearsals and that extra time inspired my parts.
