We LOVE our audience! What a great crowd last night. Someone told me that Ottawa doesn't know how to have fun -- I don't know about the rest of Ottawa, but our audience sure knows how to rock. It was a fantastic opening night.

If you haven't seen Making Necro yet, get thee hence to the theatre! Two more nights of fun and mayhem await, with live music, a stellar cast, Fabulous Doo-Wop Gals, sing-along tunes, dancing in the aisles, a beautiful love ballad, whacky characters and good ol' entertainment to the max!

Get tickets at Compact Music, 190 Bank St. and 785 1/2 Bank St. -- or at the Arts Court Box Office, 2 Daly, in person or by phone (613) 564-7240.

See you at the show!

MAKING NECROPHILIAC” - A Musical Comedy

For everyone old enough to know better... but young enough to dream

Ottawa,October 2, 2008

Necro...what?

Live music – from blues to burlesque to boogie to Broadway – and a wickedly funny story, Making Necrophiliac”is all about entertainment. Sing-along tunes, dancing in the aisles,a dash of schlock horror and a lively bunch of characters bring this romantic musical comedy to life, with an offbeat modern edge and plenty of love, laughter and rollicking good fun.

The show combines the unconventional humor of writer/lyricist Maureen Chaume with an original score by veteran musical entertainer Guy Del Villano (piano, guitar, and accordion). International performers Francine Laroche and Amanda Strawn join Guy and the cast onstage, to lend their sizzling vocal talents as the Fabulous Doo-Wop Gals.

Making Necro's” stellar cast includes Sherry Thurig as Desiree Devine; James Murchison as Beauregard Blake; and Helen Roos as Frau Ingrid Schultz. Master percussionist and musician Laszlo Szijarto (guitarist/hand drummer for naked i) is guitar cat SlowSlide Sam; and funnyman Marc Grandmaison plays the ubiquitous Howie the Handyman.

This is “Making Necro's” fourth run in Ottawa. Making Necrophiliac”goes up at the Arts Court Theatre, 2 Daly Avenue, Ottawa on October17, 18 and 19 at 8pm nightly. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door and are available at the Arts Court Box Office. Mature content, recommended for ages 14+. For more information visitwww.makingnecro.com

How exciting!  Making Necro goes up for another run in Ottawa ... now's your chance to get down & groove with original jazz, blues, boogie, German cabaret, a beautiful love ballad and a wicked little show tune.

Check out some of the songs on the music player (songs are demos only). Or, you can go to http://www.makingnecro.com/songs.html for MP3's and streaming audio.

Our wonderful cast is back to bring you the ultimate in laugh-a-minute comedy, with the captivating story of a young woman's dreams, the agony and ecstasy of show business, and the magic (and foibles) of true love. Check out cast bios at http://www.makingnecro.com/cast.html.

Joining us in October are the Fabulous Doo-Wop Gals, Francine and Amanda! Amanda Strawn is an international performer and singer/songwriter, with deep sultry tones and an irrepressible sense of fun. We're very happy she migrated north from her previous digs in L.A., and joined the Making Necro gang for this show!

Francine has performed at Bluesfest, and locally and internationally. You might have seen her with Francine and Friends. An R&B singer/songwriter, Francine is at ease with a variety of musical styles. Her melodic, bluesy vocal helps back up the songs of Making Necrophiliac with pizzazz!

The Songs of Making Necrophiliac were composed by Juno winner Guy Del Villano, with lyrics by Maureen Chaume. Guy and the cast perform live onstage, backed up by the Doo-Wop Gals. Guy is a veteran entertainer and a master of blues and boogie-woogie piano. He also plays guitar, does the background foley, and appears as Klaus the Accordion Player for "I Vanna Get Schpanked!".

Looking forward to April 9, 10, 11 at Arts Court Theatre!  This will be our third run in Ottawa, and finally -- FINALLY!! we have a show that confuses the hell out of anyone who hasn’t seen it, and delights all those who have.

New cast members for this run are Sherry Thurig as Desiree Devine, the Diva - and Helen Roos as the irrepressible Frau Ingrid Schultz.  Both ladies shine onstage, and can really belt out a song!  Cast veterans Laszlo Szijarto (SlowSlide Sam, the Cat), James Murchison (Beauregard Blake, the Actor), and Marc Grandmaison (Howie the Handyman) keep making us happy with their strong musical flair, comedy hijinks and boundless energy.

If you haven’t seen Making Necro yet ... where have you been??!

*NEW* for this show -- the Fabulous Doo-Wop GalsMichelle and Francine add zing to the songs, with incredible vocals, sparkle and pizzazz!  These gals got rhythm!  We’re honoured to have these talented ladies on board for this run.

Of course, the music is by Guy Del Villano, a veteran blues entertainer and composer. Guy has won a few awards for blues/roots music, including a Juno, but is virtually unkown in theatre circles.   Music aficianados in Ottawa and much of Canada know Guy well, as he has always been a dynamic performer and crowd pleaser at festivals, concerts and countless sleazy dives.  He’s best known as a piano player, but also plays guitar, accordian, and just about anything else that makes a noise.

Lyrics for Making Necro are by Maureen Chaume, who wrote the song "Necrophiliac" a couple of years ago ... then wrote a whole show around it.  "Necrophiliac" is unofficially known, with humour, as the Vindictive Woman’s Song, and it’s a fun little show tune.  Everyone sings along to the chorus, so if you’re coming out to the show -- learn the words!

Also, get your dancin shoes on, for "The Grand Imperial Boogie!"  The Boogie was added to the show for the last run (Feb 2008) and has quickly become a  crowd favourite!  Lots of fun, and yes -- dancing in the aisles!

We won’t even begin to describe "I Vanna Get Schpanked".

Tickets are again available in advance at both Compact Music locations - 190 Bank St downtown, and 785 1/2 Bank St, in the Glebe.  You can also get them at the door.  $25 advance, $30 at the door.  Group rates are in effect for this show -- please go to http://web.ncf.ca/fm557/tickets.html for more info.

Thanks, and see you at the show!
