If you've missed the last few auction rounds, you've missed some pretty awesome items. Have no fear! We have two more weeks of items left!

This week's items started this morning, and we have some Christian Kane autographed t-shirts, an autographed Lucy Lawless as Xena photograph, and (oh yeah) an awesome autographed script book for "A Few Good Men." Yes, it is signed by both Jensen Ackles and Lou Diamond Phillips, amongst others.

These are just three of the thirteen nifty items helping us raise money for the American Cancer Society and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention this week.

Won't you help us reach our goal of $2,000 USD?

Current mood:  excited

Campaign 5 for Fandom Rocks is currently underway and we are planning a huge

online auction beginning July 1, 2009.

We really want to hit it out of the ballpark on this campaign especially, because one of our beneficiary organizations is The American Cancer Society.   Supernatural fans chose

this charity so that we can donate in honor of and in memory of Kim Manners, the beloved director who brought so many incredible Supernatural episodes to life for

us from the show’s beginning up until his tragic passing.

As in all Fandom Rocks campaigns, the fans choose two beneficiaries and all funds collected during the campaign are evenly divided between the two.  This campaign will also benefit The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, as voted by the fans.

Our last online auction brought in over $9000.00 and we want to reach this number and even surpass it this time around.  In order to make that happen, we’re putting out the call for items contributed to the auction by the fans themselves.   While we have some fantastic “official” items, some of them autographed, we’d like to add that special touch from the fans, as well.   So, if you would like to contribute anything Supernatural related for the auction, we’d be thrilled to accept them.  We’re looking for handcrafted items, original artwork, Supernatural memorabilia, etc.

If you’d like to contribute items to the auction, please contact us at:  contact@fandom-rocks.com and we’ll make the arrangements.

Please help Fandom Rocks and Supernatural fans everywhere not only make a difference by donating to two very worthy organizations, but also to say “Thank You” to Mr. Kim Manners for the difference he made in all of our lives by bringing Sam and Dean Winchester to life with his amazing talents.

Tell your friends and help spread the word about Fandom Rocks and what Supernatural fans are doing to make a difference in the lives of people who need our help!

    - SPN Season 1 DVDs currently on sale for only $17.49!
    - SPN Season 2 DVDs currently on sale for only $17.49!
    - SPN Season 3 DVDs currently on sale for only $14.99!
  4. Pick up a gift from our Cafe Press store.

Here is one more idea brought to us by a fan at the convention. (Thanks, Sandy!) Join our team at iWon and play games! The Team Challenge at iWon puts Fandom Rocks in the running for a prize of $10,000. (Second and third place also win a good amount.) If Fandom Rocks were to win a prize, the money would go into the campaign fund not the administrative fund. Here are the FAQs from iWon on their Team Challenge:

How do I participate in the IWON Team Challenge?
Either Join a team from one of our National Charity Teams and help a national charity win $10,000 or create your own Member-Created Team and get your friends to help you win $10,000 for your favorite cause!

Who will win the IWON Team Challenge?
The teams with the most coins will win each month. At the end of each month there will be one $10,000 winner for the National Charity Teams and one $10,000 winner for the Member-CreatedTeams.

How do I earn coins for my Team?
All of the coins you earn after joining a Team are immediately added to your Team's Coin balance. Best of all, you can still use those coins to enter Sweepstakes and advance on your IWON Game Boards!

Will I win the money if my Team wins the IWON Team Challenge?
No, IWON will send checks directly to the organizations, beneficiaries, or the Team Creators.

What are the limitations on earning coins for the contest?
You can earn up to 1,000,000 coins for playing Casino games, 200,000 coins for regular coin-awarding games, 20,000 coins from Ask Search, and 3,000 coins from using Tell-a-Friend. IWON reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons or teams determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the contest.

Hang tight through the hiatus!

What a weekend you guys!

I have to say a big THANK YOU to JENN for stepping up and helping me represent Fandom Rocks in Chicago this weekend. She was left to the job almost immediately when we arrived on Friday. But let me back up and share more of the story.

We left my house around 11:30AM on Friday. We drove for 3 hours (Chicago traffic making it a little longer than it normally would be), and checked into the hotel right around 2:30PM. Unlike last year, setup and registration started on Thursday, and a full day's activities were already underway. So we rushed to the vendor's room to get setup. The great thing about the new hotel was that the vendor space was actually right in the foyer to the Grand Ballroom where all of the stage events were taking place. We had a great table in the middle of the room. (Thanks Creation!)

Almost immediately as we were setting up, fans started stopping by to talk with us. We had all of the drawing prizes spread out on our table, and the books were a big draw. (Thanks Sandi!) So many people wanted to buy them, and unfortunately we had to say no BUT they are part of our drawing prize package and a $4 donation is all it takes to be a part of the drawing. So many fans were very supportive of this campaign's concept and goal and charities. Both the Investigations Fund and Children for Tomorrow spoke to the fans we met.

Meanwhile on the stage, one of the weekend's auctions was taking place. As a surprise, Creation was auctioning an item for us, and I was pulled away to go into the ballroom to tell a packed room who we were, what charities we were supporting, and collect the donation. Nothing like being throw right in! Jenn was a trooper and held the table and talked to the crowds while I gave a quick sound byte to the room and thanked Gary. The ticket was auctioned for $300!

My favorite thing about this weekend was meeting so many fans. We saw quite a few familiar faces from last year and even more new faces. I went on stage on Saturday and gave our presentation to a small but a fun crowd. Thank you for your questions and letting me toss candy at to you. =)

I'd like to thank all the fans who stopped by to talk with us. We have close to 100 names to add to our mailing list, and thanks to all of your donations this weekend (plus Creation's auction donation) we raised $700!!! Not only that, but we had a number of fans stop by after our presentation with item donations for the next Fandom Rocks auction. You guys rock!

One fan duo I would like to point you guys toward are some of the frontrunners of "Slay-a-thon: Make a Wish Foundation Benefit." We really enjoyed talking with them, and they support a great cause. Be sure to check them out!

I also want to thank Chad Lindberg, Gabriel Tigerman, Charles Malik Whitfield, and Steve Carlson for giving us some of their time this weekend. We really appreciated it!

After many hours of standing and talking over three days, Jenn and I took a break to watch the Jared and Jensen panels. Immediately after, we had to pack up and hit the road back home. It was a great weekend!

If we talked to you, please comment and say hi! I will have the donors added to the donation page ASAP. If you notice your name or country is wrong, just let me know.

P.S. Be sure to visit the web site and listen to our interview with Kathy Bauch of the HSUS.

FANS OF "SUPERNATURAL" RAISE THOUSANDS FOR CHARITY

Champaign, IL, September 5, 2008 - Fandom Rocks, a grassroots organization made up of fans of CW Television's Supernatural, has concluded yet another successful charitable drive, raising thousands of dollars for two very worthy organizations, WriteGirl and Invisible Children.

This campaign, the third for Fandom Rocks, was the most successful to date, raising almost $9000 USD which will be evenly divided between WriteGirl and Invisible Children.  The beneficiaries were chosen by fans through voting conducted on the Fandom Rocks website.  Funds were raised among through site donations and a successful eBay auction, for which items were donated by fans and celebrities alike, including the cast and crew of Supernatural.

Fandom Rocks is grateful to everyone who participated in the campaign by donating auction items, bidding, and spreading the word about the fundraiser.  Special thanks go to Sera Gamble and everyone at Supernatural for the autographed memorabilia provided for the auction.

Supernatural
fans from around the world worked together to "give back" while bonding through their shared love and support for Supernatural, which they will be quick to tell you is the "absolute best show on TV!" Winners of auction items included fans in Belgium, Australia, and Japan.

Fandom Rocks is now preparing for their fourth campaign.  Information on the organization and their work can be found at www.fandom-rocks.com.

I can hardly believe it. We - and I do mean all of you and ourselves - pulled off something pretty amazing. In less than two months we gathered a ton of awesome items and raised an impressive amount of money for our two charities. How much? Well, we don't know just yet because we have 24 hours to go in the auction. It's down to the final day, and I can't believe it's here.

I'd just like to say
thank you and let you know how proud I am to be a part of a fandom that rallies together to get a project like this done and is so generous throughout.

Fun auction fact: We've had winners from Australia, UK, Germany, and Japan! Way to go international fandom!

Here's to the next twenty-four hours!
Friday, August 15, 2008

Happy Friday everyone! This is a quick note to let you know the third round of auction items end tomorrow - Saturday - so be sure to put in your bid today if you won't have computer access tomorrow.

We would like to take this time to thank everyone who has participate in the auction so far. All of the item donations and bidding has far exceeded our wildest expectations. The campaign will be a huge success, and that is in no small part due to you out there. Thank you!

Meanwhile, the closed auctions are getting shipped to you. Quite a few are going to international fans. Please let us know when they arrive safely. We worry about those scripts, shirts, and books.

Also, the poll for the next charities is still open. Take a look at the list of organizations. There may be a few new ones. If you don't see one you want to support, you can always nominate one.

Want to help after the auction ends?

Mission Fish logo.Did you know you can donate portions of your eBay auctions to Fandom Rocks? When you create a listing, you can search for Fandom Rocks and choose the percentage of your auction you would like to donate. You are considered a Community Seller through Mission Fish, and they take care of the donation for you. It's an easy way to contribute as a part of something you already do. In fact, we have a Community Seller out there already!
