Hey! It's Melissa from THTG. What's up.
So, months and months and no word from us, I know. Being in a band is hard. But I'm here with a few announcements that will hopefully stir up your shit and make you excited.
First and most immediate thing:
We scored a movie. It's a 17-minute short film called Absent Meaning, about a Russian waitress that tries to off herself while on duty but ends up saving the world. Or at least a few people's lives. The songs currently on the page, "Potato Famine" and "Late Shift," are featured in the movie. The movie premieres in
Boston, MA this
Thursday, Dec. 13 at 9:30 p.m. at Coolidge Corner (click here for tickets). We went a bit Devotchka but made sure to keep our rock n' roll aesthetic. And we were so happy with the results that we put three of the songs on our EP.
Yes, just getting to that. The EP is almost with us. It's 7 songs and it represents a good cross-section of what we do. We should have everything printed and in our hands by the end of January, along with some cool merch, like posters and shirts. I know! We will sell them here and at shows. We will do shows again too. Meanwhile we'll send a bulletin out when we have the CDs in our possession, so they can be in your possession, and you can form a thtg obsession. Or at least, eat a concession.
Lastly -- I mentioned that THTG will play shows again, but in the meantime, if you're looking for a fun night out and a reliable adrenaline rush, I've been double-lifing as the guitarist for the greatest all-female tribute to the Misfits ever,
The Bitchfits. If you like punk rock from the late 70's/early 80's, face paint and girls in nothing but bras, stop by. It's probably your only chance to see me getting half-naked on stage, as I don't think I want to strip before Andalusia.
OK, that's it for now. Back shortly.
