Music evolves on a daily basis and as such, so do bands and their members. This is what happened with the Xpoz band Val Halla  when Taylor, their bassist, decided to begin a new project with George, Nick and Andrew. Already having a wealth of experience behind them, the new project took off like wildfire.

Drawing inspiration from bands such as A Day to Remember, Suicide Silence and Taking Back Sunday, And She whispered is  Pop as much as it is hardcore. thanks to their experience in former bands, the guys of ASW knew how to get ahead in the game: marketing. these days, every band needs to have a Myspace and Twitter -- it's not really even an option. Unlike many of their peers, however, ASW opted to secure their own site (andshewhispered.com) to further exemplify their professionalism and to push their product: the music.

Their wise strategy paid off when they caught the attention of Extreme Radio in July of 2009. The DJ praised their press pack, calling it one of the best press packs Ive ever received since Ive been doing radioits better than half the stuff I get from the huge labels. Their song, "Swagger Like Mick Jagger," got airtime as a result. In another smart move, the band followed their radio buzz with a blitz of live shows to further engrain their presence in the minds of Vegas music fans.

Smart marketing and promotion, amazing music and a never-quit attitude is what gives And She Whispered the edge they need to put themselves a step ahead of the competition. They know it and now you can check them out and see what all the hubbub is about.

Here are some facts about the band members of And She Whispered

Tyler (16): likes to go to In and Out every day after school, has a collection of stolen In and Out red trays in his practice room and has a ketchup fetish.

George (17): loves to watch Shark Week and two-step to Taylor Swift.

Taylor (16): plays volleyball, imitates a man with turrets, and likes to dance.

Andrew (18): plans on being a Pharmacist one day and is currently a lifeguard at Tahiti Village (his tan lines are interesting to say the least).

Nick (19): owns a banana suit as well as has a tattoo of a banana behind his earhe also likes mayonnaise.

Music is a big business and making it big as a band requires some real business savvy thinking. For the members of Damnear Divine, music is fun, creative, and entertaining but it's also a serious endeavor. Realizing this, is what makes the band a force to be reckoned with.

It all started a year ago where these guys were in three separate bands. With their separate bands on the brink of dissolution, they decided to take their musical careers a new direction. They met up at an Olive Garden (Soup, Salad and Drumsticks?) and instantly jived. Later, when they were thinking of band names Beau came up with Damnear Divine; a tribute to their hard work and their goal to make nearly perfect music for all to enjoy.

.. ..

They entered the XPOZ Battle of the Fans and earned their spot on the XPOZ stage this year at Extreme Thing. Since then, they have been working on writing more music and are currently in the middle of recording their first EP ("GFY" being one of the tracks on their EP).

.. ..

Damnear Divine's music is a mixture of many sounds. Inspirations such as Yellowcard, Punchline, Taking Back Sunday, Tool, and Motion City Soundtrack all influence the way they create their music.Damnear Divine may be business minded but they also know that keeping it real keeps the people coming back. With lyrics that draw from personal experiences, the band makes their image and music relatable to everyday life

.. ..

Damnear Divine is composed of 5 guys that are driven break out of the 'local.' Once they're done with their EP, their plan is to get it on all online music fronts (iTunes, Pure Volume, Amazon, etc) for the best price around: $0. In their words, "it's more important to get our music out there than make money right now." After recording, mixing and mastering is done, the next step is touring.  Don't worry though, they know where they're from and will always come back to the fans that got them started: here in Las Vegas!

.. ..

Here are a few fun facts about the band members of Damnear Divine:

Cris (22): is obsessed with Christmas lights. His first concert was Garth Brooks.

Beau (20): collects old lady blazers, and tailors them to fit him. His first concert was Yellowcard, The Starting Line and The Matches.

Ryan (21): at the time of the interview, just got done playing Defense of the Ancients (DOA). His first concert was also N'sync.

Andres (21): likes to play World of Warcraft online with his buddies for 24 hours straight! His first concert was to see Yellowcard on the 2004 Warped Tour.

Chris (22): did Justin Timberlake impersonations for sororities to make some extra cash. His first concert was Limp Bizkit's debut show in Las Vegas.

Some bands just don't get it. They practice for a couple weeks, write a few songs and start booking shows right off the bat. In reality, the number of bands who have struck gold right after forming is few and far between. Success takes work and nobody knows that better than Air Raid Anthem who have been at it for 2 years.

The original members Courtney, Justin and Spencer started this project in late 2007. After their formation, a three-song demo was laid down but it didn't garner them any notable recognition. Rather than booking a bunch of shows, the band decided to focus on their sound and perfect it.

A year later, TJ joined on drums and they created a sound they refer to as a-bomb of party fun. This energy isn't limited to their music either. When they take the stage it isn't uncommon for them to bring props for the crowd to play with and interact with them on stage. That's what the band is all about: good times. The formula is simple, really. If the crowd is having a good time and is hearing good tunes, they'll remember you.

Now that they've found their focus, they have been going nonstop. They pressed and released their first EP entitled Ready to get Sweaty. It's available in hardcopy as well as on the major music mediums, iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster and Amazon.

Aside from a few scattered summer shows, the band plans on heading up to Canada to play a show in Justin's hometown. After that, The fellas in Air Raid Anthem will embark on a West Coast college tour. Not a bad summer, eh?

facts about the guys in Air Raid Anthem:
Justin: (24): was a guest star on the OC when he refused to get off the fountain in the background while they were filming in Las Vegas.
Courtney (28): wears spandex while he's riding his bike.
Spencer (30): has only been playing the bass guitar for 2 years. Before that he was playing the trombone in various ska bands. He can also eat Mexican food all day, every day.
TJ (20): is obsessed with quoting movies and acting them out.

The true measure of a band’s ability to transcend the genre gap can be determined by their following. Attend a Fearless Fearless show and you’ll notice that genres and cliques cease to exist. The reason why is simple: Fearless Fearless doesn’t allow themselves to be categorized because their sound and presence is too complex and diverse to lump into category.

After a band break up, Ryun had a plethora of songs ready for his new project, Fearless Fearless. The name came to him after thinking about his life. He felt that music took up such a huge part of it, that it almost seemed like he was cursed to see it in everything he did. With his passion being to make music for the rest of his life, he realized that it could do one of two things; take off or come crumbling down. The fear that’s wrapped around it was something that he didn’t want lingering around in his head. He wanted to take on the world fearlessly…Fearless Fearless was born.

The wide range of music that inspires this band heavily assists their creative process. One member may show up at practice with something they’ve been working on and the rest will jump in to perfect it. On other songs, there may be a band member who has taken it on solo. In either case, the music that is pumped out by this upcoming local band has caught the attention of those inside as well as outside the Las Vegas scene.

Fearless Fearless started in April of 2008 and has taken off astronomically since then. Not only have they rocked out local venues, they have been sought out and asked to open for well-known bands. On March 20th, they opened for Boys Like Girls to a 2,200 packed crowd in Salt Lake City, Utah. This was overshadowed when they were invited to open for Saosin a month later with a screaming crowd of over 4,000 people. Things are definitely looking up for these guys.

After all that attention it only seemed logical for this band to get together their press kits and begin sending them to record labels; this is exactly what they did. After talking to  Monte from Escape the Fate, the band decided to take a chance and Myspace message John Feldmann, affiliated with Universal Records. He responded positively to their music and requested that they perform in L.A. The band has found a venue and are working out the details now. Major success, and maybe even major label success, is on the not-so-distant horizon for Fearless Fearless. Keep an eye on these guys.

Here are a few things about the band members:
Sarah (17): is quite attentive. When she meets someone for the first time, she tries to learn as much about them as she can.
Eddie (23): likes to party and have fun. When he learns a new word, he spends the week trying to find an opportunity to use it.
Ryan (21): is a really easy going guy. He always makes sure everyone is doing alright and having a good time.
Ryun (21): is the quietest one of the band. Although he may come off as being shy, he really is thinking about the right things to say; he likes to make what he says meaningful.
Jonas (25): may come off as he doesn’t like you. He keeps his thoughts to himself until he gets to know someone, once he does open up, he’s a pretty funny guy.

From the ashes of former popular Las Vegas band Fletch comes a new powerhouse, A Phoenix Forever or APF. Upon break up, former Fletchers Ryan, Tony, Jessie and Nick came together and decided to start a new project as Diego joined Eyes Like Diamonds, another XPOZ band. With their new project in underway, they came upon a name, Phoenix Down.  This name was quickly changed as they realized that it was a name of a band established 10 years ago in New Jersey. Since they were all Final Fantasy fans, they finally settled on A Phoenix Forever, or APR for short. Once that was taken care of, they got their instruments together, practiced some and flew out to Georgia to record. These songs are now on iTunes as well as on their Myspace.

Upon returning they realized that they layered more guitars than they actually had in the band. They began searching for another guitar player and stumbled upon Oliver, who now plays guitar and backup vocals for lead singer Tony.  This brings them up to today, 3 songs totaling close to 300,000 online plays on their Myspace and a following of 22,000 and growing.

Their music is best described as pop punk, reminiscent of some of their band’s idols: Blink 182, New Found Glory, The Ataris Thrice and AFI. All of their songs are catchy; from the fast pace song of “Let it Grow” to the slower paced “Butterflies,” it is a cohesive first set of recordings that could easily be played on local radio stations, if not more. Aside from that, this group of hard working guys is getting ready for not one, but two summer tours.

Between tours and recordings, these 5 guys pour their heart and soul into their music; it’s what they know what to do and by the sound of their recordings, they do it quite well. They’re stand up guys and their drummer, Nick, prides himself on being straight-edge. His perspective on the scene is that there is always an alternative; you don’t have to smoke and drink to be cool. The rest of the guys are right there with him, spreading the word of XPOZ throughout the valley.  APF is one band that has it going for them; they’re heart and hard work is already getting recognition from fans extending past the Vegas borders…it’s only a matter of time.

Here are some facts about these guys:

Ryan (20): is obsessed with Texas Hold ‘em Poker

Oliver (20): was in the following movies, Dickie Roberts, Liar Liar and Finding Nemo

Tony (21): does pilates and yoga every day.

Jessie (23): has never been beat in Super Smash Brothers Brawl…he’s always Donkey Kong

Nick (21): is easily pleased with any of the following…Texas hold ‘em poker, shoes, skateboarding, candy and drums.

There are bands that sound great on albums, bands that sound great in person, and then there are those who sound great no matter how you hear them. Its these bands that get first time viewers bobbing their heads and tapping their feet and gives first time listeners some new tunes to be suck in their heads for days.

The Stript started their musical journey back in October of 2006 with brothers Mikey and Bryan. Soon thereafter came Brian, Steve and lastly, Jon. Their rise to fame is still in the works but by no means is it anything to underestimate. Their band has close to 14,000 Myspace friends and is rapidly approaching 300,000 song plays. This does not include their fan base that spans not only nationally but internationally.

The band released their debut, a 6 song EP in April of 2007. The album was reviewed by Classic Rock Magazine, which gave them a highly coveted 8 out of 10.

Being from Vegas, the band took personal issue with their own name and how it sounded eerily similar to the world famous Vegas strip. Wanting to positively represent their hometown while differentiating themselves from the stigma of going with something as obvious as (simply) “The Strip,” the band found it prudent to toss a ‘T’ on the end so as not to create confusion.

This 5-piece is both 100% kick ass and 100% smokefree. Be sure to check out The Stript now so that you can say you were a fan ‘back in the day,’ before they blow up!

Although Las Vegas has undoubtedly earned the title of “Entertainment Capital of the World,” many pass it over as hot spot to find musical talent and the next big thing. The band Live VIA Sky is an example of why that way of thinking is misguided.

Most of the band’s members have been in previous bands before their paths crossed a little over a year ago. Maddox, Chris and Biscoe were initially in a band when they met Brandan. As fate would have it, the friendships formed grew into a brotherhood, surpassing mere band member kinships and growing into something more.

The name Live VIA Sky was crafted as a way to pay homage to the powers overhead; the idea that we can live via the sky and enjoy life as it comes. This perhaps lends itself to the bands playful personality. They mess around and jam to whatever inspires them, literally. Whether its living their lives, the people in it,  and/or the experiences they have with each other, the inspirational source of their music comes from a gamut of artists including Thrice, The Rolling Stones and Emarosa.

If you were to attend one of their practices, you’d immediately notice how the amalgamation of their individual influences creates their own unique fusion of rock, R&B and electronica. These guys don’t succumb to mainstream pop trends, but rather kept to their roots of doing what they feel is good and enjoyable. A testament to this could be found on their Myspace when they first started; one of the band’s first Myspace recordings was a cover to “Big Pimpin’” originally sung by Jay-Z.

There are many upcoming bands out there that take up causes and endorsements without much consideration of the impact it has on the bigger picture. This isn’t the case with Live VIA Sky. These guys have some of the biggest hearts there are. Their interest in XPOZ as well as many other causes such as To Write Love on Her Arms and Invisible Children, illustrates their dedication to raising awareness and causing change, using their music as a catalyst.

Approaching 1,900 Myspace friends and 195,000 Myspace plays, Live VIA Sky is a musical movement. In their spare time, they enjoy using foreign accents in public places then enjoy taking in people’s reactions. Their humorous outlook on life fused with their passion for good music is a formula for great things. Live VIA Sky is on the verge of something amazing.

Some interesting factoids about the members of Live VIA Sky:
Brandan (24): never wears socks…ever. He claims it’s his good luck charm.
Chris (21): plays hockey.
Biscoe (20): thinks of a movie every time he writes music.
Maddox (20): plays way too many video games…constantly.
