If you like the music of the commitments, anything the blues brothers did, sam and dave, then this is for you
First
time in a long while I have heard any band produce this kind of sound,
going back to the days of the greats, paying homage with their own
arrangement in a professional recording with backing singers.
The backing singers are "The flaps" and the best example of them is in the song "One Below zero".
There's a lot of influences on this sound, really nice album purely for the fact its very relaxing.
The
album doesn't sound like its trying to hit a certain audience either, very
good song writing because it doesn't sound like your at a wedding disco or
its all synth and someone at the drums not getting enough attention,
the album travels through time with various moods, more upbeat music to
the down tempo sounds. Very nice mixtures of Blues, rock n rock, and
soul style and you real feel it with the songs and a lot of effort has
been made
"Like children" is very laid back song, slow, almost dream
like, Hair of the Dog is all acoustic and Bad girl has a nice bass riff
at the opening. The ones that stand out for me are "One below Zero" for
the backing singers, love games, purely because it takes you right back
and very commitment sounding, and "Lights outs", VERY nice songs.
Nice As Pie album special includes all fan requests on the night and
shoutouts. This is a revised version~~Press link to listen~~ www.musicworldradio.com
