WWF wants you to sign up and be counted at www.Earthhourau.org. By doing this, you will help make Earth Hour the largest climate event in history. The louder the voices, the more powerful the message WWF will take to our world leaders: that they must support a new climate change agreement of 25% reduction in emissions at the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen.

Tourism Queensland has a brilliant campaign to find a contract employee for 6-months where all they have to do is sit on the beach and enjoy the Great Barrier Reef. More than 35,000 people from around the world applied using video applications. That number has been short-listed to just 50. And guess what - one of WWF-Australia's most active and dedicated Ambassadors is on that list! TV Presenter David Whitehill (former Seaworld dolphin trainer and Cleo Bachelor) is in with a chance at being that lucky position holder. But he needs our help to get there.

All we have to do is go to the website and vote for Dave. Help support our fellow reef lover!

Australia is fortunate to have a number of interesting animals and the tiger quoll, also known as the spotted-tailed quoll, is certainly one of them. The size of a cat, with sharp teeth and a spotty tail, these carnivores roam the forests of eastern Australia – but they are not as common as they once were. They are the largest marsupial carnivore living on the mainland but are now endangered due to habitat loss and introduced predators such as foxes. In May this year I was lucky enough to travel up to Werrikimbe National Park with Samantha Vine, Threatened Species Manager – east and Kat Miller, National Threatened Species Manager in search of the tiger quoll! We met up with quoll researchers in the hope we would get to meet one of these feisty critters. Our aim was to make a mini-documentary so we could let everyone know about these fantastic animals. After a freezing night (estimated to be at least -10oC!) we were up and ready to start the tiger hunt and we weren’t disappointed. Check out the DVD to learn about the tiger quoll and our adventures. WWF's Youth Ambassador, Parrys Raines is a finalist in the news.com.au Green Awards.

She has been over to Borneo to film a doco on the Orangutans and has recently visited many WWF European offices asking them to join the Earth Hour 2009 campaign.

It would be terrific if all of our supporters could vote for her online TODAY as voting time is running out.
It's very easy:

1. Click on this link: http://www.news.com.au/feature/ranked/0,,5017640,00.html
2. Select Junior Hero category
3. Select Parrys Raines

Hi! I'm Kasia, WWF's online manager and Nike's newest entrant in the Nike Human Race.

Having recently moved back to Sydney from my Queensland permaculture hobby farm, I'm actively looking at ways I can further reduce my footprint. Working with WWF and its inspiring people, I see the amazing effort put into conserving our natural environment. Out of the office, I'm usually found in the great outdoors… the remoter the better.

I'm not a runner, but when I heard about the Nike Human Race I thought running with a million other people from around the world, united in making a difference for themselves and the three charities, was a great chance for me to get fit while I also make lifestyle changes to reduce my impact on the environment.

Follow my journey as I train for the Nike Human Race and run for WWF.

Future generations face hunger, thirst, disease and disaster if we carry on trashing the environment. Sounds like a stark warning, from WWF, as the world celebrates World Environment Day.

I've taken it upon myself today, to research what kind of future we all have in a world were environmental issues are in the news everywhere.

Food, clean water, medicines and protection from natural hazards are important ingredients in maintaining our security and quality of life. But, if we want to continue living the way we do then the species, natural habitats and ecosystems that support them need to be protected.

I think this message hit me hardest upon reading WWF's report 2010 and Beyond: Rising to the Biodiversity Challenge. While reading a report may not be everyone's cup of tea, it explains how we all will be affected in our changing world.
But, lets not forget that today is a day to celebrate the environment. So, whether your in an office looking out the window, taking a walk, or sitting on a park bench. Take a moment from your day and appreciate the environment that's around us.
