Internationally known soloists booked in our next season

Welcome to the first annual newsletter of the Boulder Chamber Orchestra. Three years of hard work, dedication, and support from individuals like you have brought us to this point in our history.

Your contributions have played a major role in making the BCO what it is today, not just as an orchestra but also as an educational and outreach organization enhancing life in the Colorado community.

Upcoming Season

We are excited to announce that our next season will feature some of the best artists and music you will ever see and hear. Many from our own Colorado backyard!

Our regular season, entitled "The Season of Discovery," will take you through Scandinavia with guest pianist Andrew Palmer Todd, featuring music by Sweden, Finland, and Norway's most beloved composers.

Next, we rediscover America and its vast musical landscape, including Barber's "Adagio," as well as music by world-renowned Boulder composers, such as Bill Douglas, with Peter Cooper on the oboe.

World-class violinist Lindsay Deutch will perform music from Piazzola's "Four Seasons in Buenos Aires" and other exhilarating selections that will keep you on the edge of your seats. This concert will also include the popular "Concerto Grosso" by Ernst Bloch, a piece rarely played but deserving of much respect.

We then travel back to visit the old Viennese masters, performing music by Mozart and Beethoven, and finally end the season with guest conductor Rick Thomas, on the podium performing some of his favorite pieces.

Mini-Chamber series

Our 2nd Mini-Chamber series will reconvene in the fall, with Annamaria Karacson (BCO's concertmaster), Charles Lee (Boulder Philharmonic's principal cello), and David Korevaar (faculty member at the University of Colorado), performing Saint Saens' 2nd Piano Trio. Our springtime concert will showcase yet another local group making the musical headlines: the Arundo Wind Quintet, playing selections by Carl Nielson, Bill Douglas, and Nicola Resanovic. None of this would be possible without your generous support!

Education and Outreach

Your financial contributions have done more than just attract talented artists. Indeed, the BCO is proud to provide numerous community outreach services to those who need it. Your dollars are at work, contributing to the community through the BCO!

  • We have hosted over 200 under-privileged citizens, young and old, to attend our functions free of charge.

  • We have partnered with the Boulder Youth Symphony to educate and mentor the youth in our community.

  • We have partnered with local businesses, such as "Sushi Zanmai," to create a fun, interactive, and friendly atmosphere in which our patrons can mingle and interact with our musicians and Music Director Bahman Saless, encouraging community input into our programming

We Need Your Help

Your commitment to the orchestra and its financial well-being directly enhances quality of life in Boulder and beyond. With a budget of under $60,000.00 annually, BCO is doing a magnificent job making sure your dollars end up in the right place, but only less than $16,000.00 of that is covered by ticket sales! We need your help to cover some of the rest. It's that simple.

As our growth continues, your continuing generous support, which is 100% tax deductible, will become even more important. Please consider increasing your donation during the upcoming season, to help ensure the BCO's financial stability and health.

Our achievements are a direct result of the support of the community and its members like you, who know and care about the value of art and culture!

Thank you!
