Dear readers,
I've been troubled yesterday, and now instead of writing from a cold Denmark I am working in blustery Chicago. All because the plane I was on to make a connection onto Copenhagen was grounded after bad weather left it with too little fuel to get all the way to a very stormy Chicago O'hare.
So we stopped in Madison, WI and waited until it passed. I literally watched the clock pass my next flight connection, and made the worst wish; I hoped that by some act of nature that onward flight would to be delayed enough to catch at the airport (even with my grossly delayed timing).
It was not to be, and twenty or so Danes (connecting from all over the US it turned out) with me we attempted to find another way, just to be told it would have to be tomorrow. Of course this makes my gig in Copenhagen impossible and complicates all onward travel. Ugh!
But better that the plane landed on a tarmac then into one of the great lakes... I will have a revenge fueled performance in Copenhagen someday, and hopefully make the next gig today...

So after a few years time, and a few other milestones passed, I am at the strange honor of the brink of 50,000 friends on this myspace. How many of these people I have actually conversed with I'd say is a woefully small number, and additionally how many are likely robots (or simply robot-like) is troublesome. But amazing to know that perhaps making music largely in home studio, out on obscure labels, in proudly independent fashion can suffer these assuring consequences.
I am sure the number will wax and wane depending on the fates of myspace vs. facebook vs. who knows what next-gen society. But for the time being so many thanks indeed for the friendship and your listening.

Dearest true believers,
It is finally time to announce the first small offering from another project entitled "The Long Lost" it consists of Laura Darlington and myself, in this case with guest remixes from Flying Lotus.
It is a journey of sound that has been a long time percolating but only recently the go ahead to be released. You may know Laura's vocal from my previous records or even moreso Flying Lotus' past two LPs "1983" and "Los Angeles". So please ceck it out as it is exclusive on itunes for an odd week or two.

Dear fellow creative types,
May I recommend Poland. Now you might not know much about the "scene" there, and I admit I do not either. May express in two recent concerts, one at Krakow's independent film festival, the other at a decidedly avant-garde electronic event in Gdansk, that the audience was very open. Open to noise and beat and melody and fun. Quite a mix that doesn't happen every, let me tell you... So please take a little detour next time it is all Paris and Barcelona, a little North and a little East, you might just agree with me.

Dear Myspace Friends, Listeners, and Lurkers,
Running around North America, and taking a moment to thank all who have braved elements and late nights to join in some very fun times all over the coasts (and some interior). Much more dates to go before some kind of rest will be found. No matter, we'll forge on in some combination of Eliot Lipp, Myself and at times past or present KRTS, Dj Slugo, Bassnectar, James Pants, Leo123, Bonobo and more.
Thank you!!! and Best, Daedelus

It is all so swirling, I've never had a year quite like this, and just as early youtube and myspace features have mellowed considerably XLR8R magazine, quite know for it's unique coverage of Electronics both State-side and International, has deemed me cover worthy (I'm not so sure about this, but it is something much appreciated and it is my first nationwide magazine cover). Please find a copy in your local newsstand or magazine monger. Or journey to:

All of Europe is wonderful, kind, and crazy... Thank you everyone who made the effort and attended a show. (including Chicago...)

Current mood: excited
Dearest friends,
The day in North America has arrived that my "Love To Make Music To" is out in stores. Certainly the past couple of weeks have been building towards this and more recently with Myspace kindly featuring my profile, sent me hurdling towards the release date. The artwork alone might be worth a closer look either in glorious double gate-fold vinyl or a smaller (but poster packed) cd. It was made by Sasha Barr who resides in the Pacific Northwest and is a talented fellow, find more work at http://www.thisisthenewyear.com/ Also this is a wonderful opportunity to slogan about supporting your local independent music retailer. The record game isn't easy for anyone, but it has become especially bad for the Mom and Pop record stores, so if you do have the option and want to buy, check out ordering it thru your neighborhood store.
Thank you for the words and befriending and support, I'll try to return the favor if ever possible. Until until, Daedelus
