It's been awhile since the last Triple Threat update, so I thought I'd a take a minute to fill you in on what we've been up to.

Since the Anti-Matter shows that we played at the end of November, our focus has been on practicing and writing new material. We're fully concentrating on writing a minimal of 4 new songs for a brand new 7" that we're planning to release on Livewire Records sometime this year. Our goal is to simply write 4 of the best songs we've ever written. Musically I don't see us straying too far from the formula that we've followed in the past. As things progress on this new 7", we'll be sure to keep everyone updated.

Last night, Friday February 15th, 2008, we played a great show in Perth Amboy New Jersey. The First Step headlined, other bands included Energy, All As One, Petition, Mindset and Different Directions. It was a small venue called Copa De Ora, 50 people would probably pack the place wall to wall. We went on just before The First Step and right from the start I got a feeling that there was a sense of excitement in the air. Kids seemed to be a a little more psyched than usual for our set, which was something that we definitely fed off of. There were lots of sing alongs and it was just an all around high energy set. When all was said and done, this show ended up being one of our best shows in our 4 year career. We're looking forward to getting back to the Copa De Ora as soon as possible.

In closing this update, we just want to put the word out there that we're always looking for show. If you've got something going on and you need a band, please feel free to contact us. Multiple show weekend trips are always something we're down for, as well as one offs. So get in touch. Thanks, TT

It's going to be a busy summer for Triple Threat. We're in the process of booking a bunch of dates up into the next 3 or 4 months. Lot's of New Jersey shows in the works, but expect some out of state shows as well. Still waiting on a handful to be confirmed, but as soon as they are, they'll go up on this page for sure. We'll also be releasing a new Triple Threat Live at CBGB's 7". The live 7" will basically document our last opportunity to play CB's before it closed it's doors forever. Expect some cool and interesting packaging, colored vinyl and limited to only 200 copies. It will be released on our own label, Livewire Records. We're also in the process of writing and perfecting 4 brand new songs. The plan is to hit the studio early summer, record and have the new EP released by late summer 2007. So between writing new material, practicing, playing out as much as possible and releasing new records, we'll have our hands full. Hope to see you at the shows. -TT

Tuesday November 28th, Triple Threat jumped back in the studio. This time around we were recording one track for an upcoming compilation on Revelation. The idea for this comp that Rev is doing is to have modern day hardcore bands cover songs from the early Rev bands. We were originally asked back when the whole idea came together, sometime early in the year. Unfortunately at the time that we were originally asked, we were in the process of recording for our LP. At that time we just had too much on our plate, so we passed on the offer. Fast forward to October and we get a second chance offer to be apart of the comp. At this point we were freed up and had plenty of time on our hands, so we made it happen. We decided to cover a song from Revelation:6, the No For An Answer "You Laugh" EP. We went with "Without A Reason", one of my personal favorites from that EP. We practiced the song quite a bit throughout November. Our goal was to cover it as well as we could and do it justice, but also ad a bit of our own feel to the song. In the end, I think it came out pretty cool. All the music was recorded live and I did the vocals in one take, so it's got a pretty raw, yet powerful sound. Hopefully the rest of the compilation comes together well. We'll keep you posted on it's release date.

Here's some photos from our West Coast Weekend with BOLD and Internal Affairs. Our first show was in Santa Barbara at a nice space called Casa De La Raza on September 29, 2006. Our second show was in Corona at The Showcase Theatre on September 30, 2006. The Corona show proved to be our best show yet. Big thanks to BOLD, Internal Affairs, Bad Reaction and all the other bands we played with over the weekend. Also thanks to Bob Shedd and company for a place to crash and Gordo for all his help and humor. It was definitely a weekend that we won't forget.

August should prove to be a great month for Triple Threat. The "Into The Darkness" LP was released July 25th and is in stores now. We just played a date on the Warped Tour in Finchburg MA, the opening night of the Gorilla Biscuits tour in Asbury Park NJ and we've got the This Is Hardcore 2006 Philly fest coming up on August 18th, followed by a show with H2O at CBGB's August 19th. We couldn't be more psyched on these future shows and the general future of Triple Threat. Look for new TT merch to be released in the Bridge 9 Records store site soon and check our official website for further info. Thanks and hope to see you at the shows! -TT

As of this week, everything that's gone into this record has now been placed in the hands of Bridge 9. After weeks and long late nights of designing, tweaking, proofing and finalizing, the layouts are complete for both the 12" LP and the CD. As psyched as we were about the recording, we're just as psyched about the layout and design of this record. The official Bridge 9 release date is July 25, 2006. We'll also be announcing a slew of show dates that will follow into August.

Went in today at 1:00 PM, feels like forever since we've last been here. We've had two long weeks to sit on the rough and unmixed versions of these songs, so it will be nice to get these nailed down. Mike, our engineer spent 14 hours on Wednesday coming up with his initial mix. Today our plan was to come in, hear his mix and make our adjustments from there. Off the bat, Mike hit the majority of the mix pretty well. We had some things here and there that we felt needed further adjustment. Mostly small changes in the levels, feedback placement and final vocal comps. Sitting in the studio and listening to the recording through their high end speakers, it's inevitable to get a good sound. The true test for all of this will be listening to the recording in my car, with fresh ears. We finished up at the studio by 11:00 PM, burned cd's, packed up and said our good byes. Jason drove his own car, Kreep drove his own car and Ed and I drove in my car. I told Ed that I wanted to hold off for a few minutes before we put the CD on. The anticipation was killing us, so we waited all of 5 minutes. We popped the CD in and boom, it hit us hard. Ed and I looked at each other with amazement. We stayed quite and just listened. The first thing I said after listening, was, "This is the best recording I've ever been apart of". Seriously, Ed and I were just blown away and couldn't have been happier. Ed called Jason and asked what his feelings were, Jason replied with the same exact answer that I did, "This is the best record I've ever played on". Next step is to get this mastered, which is only going to enhance the recording. Ed and I should finish the layouts this week, so we're well on our way to completing this project. Can't wait until I can hold the finished album in my hands.

So this is our 7th and final day here at Labyrinth Sound Studios. We'll have some mixing dates that we'll need to schedule, but for the most part, our work here is done. We started studio time off at about 6:00 PM, but got together as a band around 3:00 PM. Before we hit the studio, we drove off to an old abandon farm area not too far from my house and shot some band photos. You know the normal hang out type shots, record layout material. It was cold as all hell and the wind was blowing like a mad man, but we got it done. Once we were finished with the shoot, we piled in our cars and headed off to the studio. The first song I did vocals for was "Break It". Considering we had recorded "Break It" for the Livewire 7", I really wanted to make this version stand out. At points during the vocal recording, I found myself nearly bouncing off the walls. The final product came out cool, definitely much better than the original. The next track I took on, was "The Trap". This one went well and a I flew through it fairly quickly. The last and final track to do was a song called, "Fashion Trend". Ed and I wrote these lyrics together and I thought it would be cool if we both took turns at different lines of the lyrics. I did my parts first and Ed followed with his. Considering Ed's not use to doing the vocal thing, it took him a few trys. The finished piece came out exactly how we imagined it to. By the time I was done adding the chorus, I was starting to feel really spent. The song was completed and we were all happy with the final result. Last thing to do for the night was back ups for the rest of the songs. We had about 6 more tracks to add back ups to. One track proved to be slightly difficult, but we made it through. By 11:30 PM, our work is complete. Like I said, mixing still needs to be done, but we'll get into that in about another week or so. All in all, this entire studio expierence has been a lot of fun and at this point, we fell like we've really put together a solid hardcore record here. I think we're all looking forward to seeing this album in it's final format. It's definitely one that means a lot to me.
