i'm in new mexico. i actually had bad huevos today and haave to cut down my green chile consumption. i'm having trouble sleeping at nite after large bowls of it. che and i are suffering some wicked altitude sickness, that;or we're just weak. it does however decrease your alcohol tolerance by quite a bit. we went to this guy's christian's house (perfectly alphabetised record collection so beautiful) and che after having two beers felt like he had downed a crate of fermented yak;s milk. our neighbors have a goat! we love it so much. i like watching the goat hang out with their one duck.
che is thinking of starting an apiary. I'm thinking that's where i'll keep my duck.

new mexico is a beautiful as i remembered it.
we had to return our rented dodge avenger today. the
manager at Advantage Rental cars drove us home. how nice.

Hello Friends--

Tonight, for the first time ever, I will be showing a version of the film
that I have been working on over the last four or five years.  Shot on Super
8 in various locations from the San Francisco Bay to New Mexico to New
Hampshire, the film is an ongoing work that has no forseeable end.  Partly
an amateur nature film, and partly a psychotropic walk through the streets
and apartments of Bushwick, the film will be screened tonight on
Monkeytown's 4 walled projection system and soundtracked with a live score
for analog synthesizer and field recordings played by yours truly.  The film
will be screened silently at 7:30 and with live accompaniment at 10:00.  I
hope you can make it.  Some stills from the film are in the attachment.

Also, after both screenings psych heavyweights Begushkin will be playing!

che and i played tonite and i feel really inspired. tomorrow i'm going to guitar center to get me that boss metal zone pedal i've been wanting for awhile now. che is a really good looper but bummed today that he still has bedbugs. this is the problem w/ greenpoint. that and the water.

we just finished the sleeves for the vinyl, (still need to be stuffed, mmm) and burned 100 copies of atoya-toya -this tupperware beating album we made summer 2005? a la bushwick. "best friend" song if we had one would be our hit single, hands down. i think i'll post that up.

We've been included on the compilation CD in "Femme Toupee" no.2. This is an awesome new zine from the SF Bay area, put together by Jorge Boehringer, better known as, Core of the Coalman. The compilation features 3 tracks by True Primes in the very good company of music by John Bischoff (a piece made on two KIM-1 microcomputers in 1982!), Tralphaz (with and without Snowsuit), Pod Blotz, Earwicker, Skullcaster, Andrew Raffo (performed by Loren Dempster and Jessica Pavone), and JB himself. Also inside, scores by Bob Doubles and Matt Ingales, and very strange text pieces by the always interesting David Harrison Horton.
And if that isn't enough, the cover art for the issue is by yours truly. meow.

send us a message if you want one.

Hey y'all here's another review of our We Have Won and Atoya toya cd-r releases from a little ways back. It's from the KJFC review site.

http://spidey.kfjc.org/index.php?p=1792

Two piece/no peace wail over death march drums. Possibly the
two, Che Chen and Rolyn Hu, both sit at said drums while
manipulating other guitars, gizmos and gremlins. The sound
has the ramshackle charm of say the Dirty Three, the march
is led by an worn-out ol mare whose nostrils still flare.
Rolyns voice rollin along in the saddle, slow and lopey.
Che offers his nasal twang and some hollerin as well. When
little bursts of noise drift by (embodied by an overdriven
effect, a rampant drum machine rumble) they are like little
tumbleweeds on the soundscape here. Songs often get cut off
at the pass by these choppy interventions. Vox dont quite win
the talent show, but that plus a nice playful approach to
effects makes them more memorable. It almost seems like Rolyn
is holding her larynx horses in the barn willfully. In The
Surf works very well, and washes away the Western analogies,
Rolyn huffing, and puffing, and screeching awayChe adding
some grimace and grit. Decidedly lo-fi through-out, but when
they hint at a poppishness, they portend their next surprise.
Evidently headed to Locust Music, where likely their balance
of order/disorder will be even further embellished and the
narco-psych formula refined. As this EP states, True Primes
have already won, count on it!
