Well, in our little internet world, sometimes we get a little love from our peers. The Mr. Egg version of "Gone Missing", here on this profile has been awarded the incredibe prestige of being "Track of the Day" for May 14th and received the "Best Production" award for the week of May 7. And our little horn goes "toot toot"...

Alright, so I up to now have stayed away from direct political comment, etc. except for the abstract references in some of our songs. But folks, things is gettin' kinda scary out there (actually has been for a while obviously...) and I'm trying to figure out a way to "do my part" in this clusterf**k that we "Amurkins" have gotten ourselves into, and get my head out of the sand.

I met an cool kat yesterday, a director named Bill Groshelle, who has an art Blog of some really good political "posters" he has made called "Art For Democracy." His work is also being featured in a traveling show of international artists. Check them out, send him some love, and link to them if they speak to you.

And please, send me links, news, etc. that you think might be good to post. Also, check out the Maltok 5 blog.

Hello again from Mr. Egg/Gravity Plan,

Thanks to everyone for your support in coming out to see us over the last several months, old friends and new ones. We've been sequestered in recording and mixing sessions for a while, but are starting to play live shows again. TONIGHT, April 19th at 9:30pm, we'll be playing Peri's Silver Dollar in Fairfax. Ages 21 and over. And it's FREE!!

We haven't played at Peri's since the Mr. Egg days, so we hope to have you come out and see us as we build our audience.

This should be a great night. We will be playing all night and should go on by 9:30, so come on down for some psychedelic debauchery. Gravity Plan will be performing some of the Mr. Egg material as well as lots of new stuff and new arrangements.

We've been recording some new tracks and are continuing to record for an upcoming release. Check out a pre release version of "Behold A Pale Horse" from our upcoming CD on our myspace pages.

Come on out by foot, by car, by air or by camel, but come on out!

Thanks,

Hey folks.

Gravity Plan has posted a pre release version of Behold A Pale Horse, a happy little ditty from our upcoming CD. The song explores a heartwarming story that weaves through such topics as young love, conspiracy theories and manufactured wars of convenience, with just a dash of alien paranoia. It's been called the most radio friendly 7 minute pop song about weird shit ever written. And that's no hyperbole! Be sure and share it with all your loved ones over a glass of warm milk.

And remember shoppers, only 666 more shopping days until the apocalypse!

Thanks for listening!

Mr. Egg members, Ken Adams and Rick Ford have teamed up with bassist Bob Loeper and drummer Bobby Michener to form the new band, Gravity Plan.

We just finished a 2 weeks of tracking some new songs and are now doing overdubs and mixing. The new tracks are coming along nicely. We'll post some teasers to our MySpace page real soon.

Gravity Plan will be performing live in the coming months. Look for us!

OK, so Don Rumsfeld is still the head boob at the defense department regardless of what several generals WHO ACTUALLY HAVE BEEN there have stated in an historic show of unity that he should be canned.

I guess I have to accept it...

OK, so Bush says he's "Not ruling out the "nuk-u-lar" option against Iran. He's obviously insane, but how many of us are even more so in our complacency? Is there really any thing to be done? I think so...

I guess I have to accept it...

What world is coming for my 2 year old Jubilee? What can I change and what is just inevitable?

I guess I just have to accept it... Maybe not...

Behold a Pale Horse Rising... underneath the radar screen...

Current mood:  weird
I find myself wondering a lot about the state of music and the state of our culture's perspective on music and art in general. Rambling, tangential thoughts that ping across my brain pan like so many homeless electrons searching for that "perfect" oxgygen molecule. "Ping, would you be my friend? Ping, would you like to hear some music?" Why would anyone try to start a music/art based business in today's climate? Because we're crazy is a good first answer, but it has to be more than that. It's my opinion, (and the opinion of a lot of listeners I've played for and talked to) that the talent and songwriting is there to at least build a good following. And the possibilities of distribution are so much more open now that major labels seem to be only focusing on the manufactured acts. So there are tons of possibilities, but also A LOT of competition for peoples attention spans these days. Will enough people dig "Gone Missing" or "Doggie In A Bag" to start spreading the word? Will I die in a dark bog of mediocrity? How far to push things? When to pull back? These are some of the things going through the mind today. "Well look at me, I'm sitting cold in the rain...And yet there's nothing at the end of my chain... But just a hairball of fear that's matted up through the years... And a shadow that drags me to the bottom of the lake..." -Ken Adams, Mr. Egg - "Doggie In A Bag"
