New Car Products New Car Products:
A new breed of navigation. As a revolutionary way to combine the ease of portable navigation units and the advanced features of an in-dash navigation system, a hybrid navigation system was born. A unit that can be taken from and customized for different vehicles, the new navigation unit comes with all the advanced features found in in-dash units like conversational voice control of Bluetooth® phones and iPod® players.

Premier Reference Series: Pioneer's sound engineers have started offering a full line of Premier Reference Series (PRS) products. The line includes products such as DEH-P800PRS CD player, PRS-A900 amplifier, and TS-C720PRS speakers that work together to create hands down, the ultimate in-car sound experience.

Car CD players: With integrated high-speed iPod control, USB and MP3 plug-ins and Bluetooth functionality, these aren't your ordinary CD players. The new fleet of Pioneer CD players feature proprietary technology to improve your music. By evaluating compressed music files like MP3s, the Advanced Sound Retriever technology replaces elements in the file that were lost in compression for a richer, fuller, more dynamic sound.

Speakers: Pioneer sound engineers scoured the earth to find a material strong enough to handle the heat but that could be processed into fibers. What they found was a natural rock called basalt. By using basalt and ceramic speaker cones, Pioneer's new line of speakers offer a smooth sound that sounds just as clear as live performances under controlled conditions.

Subwoofers: The next generation of Pioneer's ground-breaking shallow subwoofers are on display, designed to bring robust bass performance for any vehicle. Their shallow design and exclusive Air Suspension technology allow them to fit into smaller spaces than typical subwoofers, while delivering the same impactful sound performance.

Rear Seat Entertainment In A Snap

Pioneer Offers Detachable Screen for In-Car Video

Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc., the established leader in mobile entertainment products, today released a new detachable screen for rear-seat entertainment, the AVD-W6200. The 6.5-inch high-resolution display comes with an easy-to-install bracket that makes it possible to add rear seat video to most double-poled headrests with minimal modification to the vehicle. Once installed, consumers can detach the monitor and fold the bracket out of the way and out of sight if they don't want to leave it in the vehicle when not in use.

In addition to its convenience features, the AVD-W6200 offers excellent picture quality with its active matrix 16:9 LCD screen for optimal wide-screen viewing. The monitor produces crystal clear pictures and features five selectable viewing modes. It also has an anti-glare coated screen, which is critical in a vehicle where there is a great deal of ambient light. It also has an automatic dimmer, built-in speaker, dual A/V inputs and a composite output. The AVD-W6200 can be used with any video source unit including Pioneer's DVH and AVH DVD systems.

"The AVD-W6200 is a great addition to our family of rear-seat video screens, making it easy to add rear-seat entertainment," said Michael Townsen, vice president of marketing for mobile entertainment at Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. "It's ideal for consumers who lease their vehicle and want to be able to remove the screen at the end of the lease."

The Pioneer AVD-W6200 installs in a matter of minutes with a quick mount bracket made of durable black plastic that can withstand the harsh environment in a vehicle including hot and cold temperatures. The bracket features adjustable mounting holes to fit most double-poled headrests, a retractable arm and a pivoting quick release mount for better viewing angles and added security. Pioneer also offers rear seat video screens that mount directly to the back of the headrest or that fold down from an overhead position.

The Road to the Ultimate In-Car Experience Leads to Two New In-Dash Multi-Media Systems From Pioneer

LAS VEGAS, CES Booth 9827 1/6/2008

Consumers in search of great entertainment and connectivity on the road will find the AVH-P4000DVD and AVH-P5000DVD from Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. the ideal in-car solution. A welcome sight for any dashboard, the two new systems offer choices in 6.1- or 7-inch video screens plus unprecedented audio and video qualities and versatile connectivity to iPod® players, portable audio devices and Bluetooth® cell phones.

"Today's consumers are spending more time on the road and they are looking for a well-rounded in-car system that can keep them highly entertained as well as connected," said Larry Rougas, vice president of marketing and product planning for the mobile business group of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. "The new line of audio video products will give consumers extended entertainment and connectivity capabilities at a great value."

For improved design and vehicle integration, consumers installing either units have a variety of colors to choose from for button illumination and graphic user interface (GUI). Users of the AVH-P4000DVD can customize its illumination by selecting from 112 color variations for its display and panel illumination while users of the AVH-P5000DVD have a choice of five (blue, red, amber, green, violet) display colors and blue/red panel illumination.

Connectivity
The AVH-P4000DVD and AVH-P5000DVD provide extensive connectivity to portable music players, USB compatible devices and satellite radio. Both units also offer a rear audio/video auxiliary input as well as a front mini jack auxiliary audio/video input for quick connectivity of any portable audio device with mini jack outputs.

The built-in iPod Direct control feature in both models, utilizing an optional iPod cable (CD-I200), enables high-speed access and playback of music from an iPod player. The touchscreen LCD display enables control of the popular device through easy to use on-screen menus and controls. Information regarding currently playing music and video is also displayed. The search bar (similar to the scroll wheel on an iPod) appears on both of the models' displays, allowing users to view and quickly search through the playlist, genre, album and artist folders. With iPod videos and podcasts, control is simplified with touchscreen buttons directly overlaid onto the LCD, even during video playback.*

Consumers with Bluetooth cellular phones can take advantage of the Bluetooth hands free capability in the AVH-P4000DVD and AVH-P5000DVD. With an optional Bluetooth adapter, compatible cell phones can be synced to the system, allowing consumers to utilize their phone's audio capabilities through the car's internal speakers. Phone numbers can also be stored and dialed through the system's touch display panel or accessed directly from a compatible cell phone. The system also features caller identification when phone numbers are stored in its internal phone book.**

Video
Both systems feature a high quality widescreen touch panel LCD display for play back of DVD video discs, DivX® video content, iPod video, and other sources through the A/V inputs. The Double DIN AVH-P4000DVD utilizes a 6.1-inch screen, while the single DIN AVH-P5000DVD uses a larger motorized 7-inch screen that retracts into its chassis when not in use. The large, easy to read screens are especially helpful in communicating information at glance. For added safety and convenience, both units are capable of displaying images from a separately-purchased back-up camera system.

Audio
Both the AVH-P4000DVD and AVH-P5000DVD can play different formats of audio discs including CD-R/CD-RW and DVD-R/DVD-RW recorded with MP3, WMA and AAC compressed audio files. For dynamic and rich sound quality, the units feature Pioneer's powerful MOSFET50 internal amplifier and Hi-Volt preamp outputs (4V) for use with external power amplifiers. While the built-in three band parametric EQ provides fine tuning adjustments to the music curve, the two-way crossover network sends the proper frequencies to the vehicle's speakers.

Pricing and Availability
The AVH-4000DVD and AVH-P5000DVD will be available in March with a suggested price of $500 and $650 respectively.
