Why I travel..
Growing up I had a father on one side of the planet and a mother on the other side. I grew up traveling and I have known no other life. I wanted to share with you how traveling can impact your life.
Feeling burned out?
Why vacations are the remedy
T raveling can expand your horizons and give you a better perspective on the rest of the world. Whether you're spending time with family and friends, learning about new things, or getting that restorative rest you need-vacations are good for you.
While many think they don't have the time or the money for vacations, at the end of the day, going on vacation is a choice. You have a choice how to spend your time and hard-earned money.
Be the person you want to be
Life experiences, like vacations, generally make people happier than purchasing material possessions, says assistant Professor Leaf Van Boven, a psychologist at Cornell University who studies happiness and has conducted surveys and experiments on this subject.
"What prompted our research was the conflict people face in spending discretionary income and using it to maximize their happiness". He says. "We asked people to think of times they have spent money pursuing life experiences and times they've spent money on material possessions. Most reported it's the experiences they remember most and brought them the most happiness.
There are several reasons why life experiences, such as travel. Make people happy, he says. First, investing in an experience says a lot about the person that you are, or want to be. "If you are adventurous, you can choose to go do something exciting" Van Boven says. "If you are more of a cultured person, you can visit museums or other places. These experiences provide an opportunity for people to accomplish higher-level goals that define their quality of life."
Travel can also make you a more interesting person. "Pursuing experiences fosters social well-being in a way that possessions don't," he says. "This happens because we do things with other people, while it's possible to acquire material possessions in isolation." Plus the activities we engage in help us become the person we want to be.
Finding the time and money to travel
Nowadays travel is much easier for the average person to do. There are many new ways that people are able to save and also programs they can join that helps to bring down the cost substantially. One of the ways people travel is to rent a last minute villa or condo .
But that is still only the first step in how to really knock off a big chunk of your travel expense. There are many ways that people lower their travel expenses. A very popular travel trend in USA is joining a travel club. These clubs are great because you have a company that are really knowledgeable about the resorts and activities and rates and they are able to negotiate a better rate because of the bigger buying power with the members in the club, those rates are then passed on to the members. We are particularly impressed with the
Dream trip program from World Ventures
Because of the wide selection and low membership price. They also offer a way for you to refer other members and earn money and travel dollars. Many members are traveling free with the company because of them referring other members; this is a great solution for people who have a lesser budget.
The big triple knock out punch is, combining the travel club with owning your own online travel site and the referral program. That allows an individual to not only travel wholesale but also get great tax breaks from running a home based part time travel business. Because they are earning money from online travel sales from their own travel site
They can now visit resorts and learn what makes those resorts unique and that in turn will turn that vacation into a business trip and therefore a tax write off. Many of those reps. are reporting an average tax savings of more than $4,000 a year. So in turn now they are traveling absolutely free.
For those reps that are massively promoting these programs they can become a full time business and in turn they are enjoying 5 star travels absolutely free and earning incomes that absolutely can change lives.

Setting time aside
S etting time aside to travel is crucial, experts say. Many people think they can't take a vacation. They think their job won't be able to get by without them and they convince them selves that they can't get away. But going on a vacation is part of being a productive and healthy employee. Without breaks from work, employees can burn out, and their work can suffer.
Studies have shown that well-rested, vacation-taking employees are more productive and more successful. Many European countries have known this for years.
The average American worker earns far fewer vacation days than most of their counterparts around the globe. Compared with other nations, the United States ranks at the bottom of the list with an average of just 13 vacation days a year. Italy offers a generous average of 42 days a year. - More than three times the U.S average. France is not far behind, offering its workers an average of 37 vacation days per year. By European standards, the United Kingdom's average of 28 days seems almost paltry but it's still more tan twice the American average. What's worse it seems, is that most Americans don't use all of the paid vacation time allotted to them.
"I really think that most Americans have an upside-down view of what is most important in their lives" says Joe Robinson author of Work to Live: The guide to getting a life.
"We put the emphasis on production and out put. While production is a good thing and having a work ethic is important, production alone doesn't produce life satisfaction."
Instead, business benefit from a focus on more-balanced employees. Studies have shown that well rested employees are more successful. It's also been proven that time off increases positive mood, a sense of initiative and competence, and the more leisure activities a person is involved in the higher their life satisfaction.
