We're leaving San Francisco this week for two months on the road. Half of Dark Side (Marco), will be leaving permanently for the wonderful city of Philadelphia at the end of the year. Roger will keep a foot in the bay, so to speak, and Dark Side will continue in bi-coastal form. In the meantime, we'll be living in our car.

If anyone knows anything about rigging radio antennas, please let us know.

Marco just threw some new shows up there on the front page. And that ain't all. We got, like, 30 more on the way. Keep your eyes peeled -- we'll be hitting up your town too!

Last nights show marked a bittersweet parting. Our drummer, Matt "Kamikaze" Hayashi announced his retirement from active duty. He'll be pursuing a career in fashion photography and continuing his night job at Chippendales. Dark Side of the Cop will miss him dearly, and will diligently continue on as a 2-piece, all the while casting many mournful glances skyward.

Matt, you can run, but you can't hide.

We love you buddy!

Fantastic show last night at the Make Out Room. Social Studies and The Lovely Public packed the joint, and even got some of their diligent fans to make it over early for our set. Can't thank you guys enough. Anyone in SF or visiting, do your diligence and check out the Make Out Room. 22nd between Mission and Valencia. Stiff, stiff, stiff drinks. How about a double-shot-sized single shot of Jack Daniels for $5?

DSOTC are happy to announce that we've joined the Crow Agency. The Crow Agency - led by Southerly's Krist Krueger - is an artist-run booking agency from Portland, Oregon. We're very excited to be working with Krist and to be included on TCA's roster. We'll be announcing new tour dates for October and November very soon.

Thanks to Austin's Hunter Cross and Maritsa Asghari, the new Auger Down site is up and running. All our new press is up there, as well as tour dates and news. The tour section even has maps to venues, which we'll need ourselves when we leave next week.

Good news for everyone who likes ice fishing or grew up Marlboro, Vermont... DSOTC is starting a label, Auger Down Records, to release the album. We've been thinking about starting a label for a while, so it's really exciting for us. In the short term it just means that Roger is going to have to make another website. Thanks to Dan at Accuradio, DSOTC is getting airplay on the new Indie Rock station. They play great music there, so it's an honor to be included. Everyone should go visit it at www.accuradio.com/beta. Dan said that DSOTC "renews (his) faith in the slot machine world of promo bin dreams." Sweet! DSOTC is getting a review in the First Exposure section of next month's Magnet, and will also have a track on the new music sampler. We are very grateful to the folks at Magnet for the chance to be included. The issue should be out in early March.
