SUNDAY 20 SEPTEMBER

MUSIC HALL OF WILLIAMSBURG
66 NORTH 6TH STREET
BROOKLYN, NY

718.486.5400
info@bowerypresents.com

hey folks

THE 'MERICANS

are thrilled to announce our upcoming
live appearance in NYC as part of a benefit concert
to celebrate the release of ’Ciao My Shining Star :
The Songs of Mark Mulcahy’ (which we contributed a
song to) and we'll be playing our Miracle Legion cover
as well as a song of our own for this occasion
and we'll post our set time when we know it

plus there will be a Premiere of the
Thom Yorke video “All For The Best” (Thom Yorke
of Radiohead also contributed to the Ciao. . . cd)

plus readings by Graphic Novelist Ben Katchor

here's the schedule - with this many artists
involved, time will be tight, so set times are absolute
and tight:

07:30
Doors

08:40 Jeff Ginsburg / Biet and Gryphon
08:50 The 'Mericans <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
09:00 Senator
09:10 Spouse / Lofine
09:20 Ben Katchor
09:30 BP Helium
09:50 The Parkway Charlies
10:00 School for the Dead
10:10 The Gravel Pitt
10:20 Thom Yorke Video Premiere
10:30 The Autumn Defense
10:40 Winterpills
10:50 Chris Hartford / Ray Neal
11:00 Ben Katchor
11:20 David Berkeley
11:55 Frank Black
12:00 Finale Jam Session

for more info: http://www.musichallofwilliamsburg.com

and to check out the compilation, here's a link
to the iTunes 2-Week Exclusive 41-Track Deluxe Edition
which is $19.99 for all the songs, or you can buy
individual tracks for download:

http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewAlbum?id=330072973&s=143441

The compilation has an impressive lineup, but the
circumstances around it are heartbreaking: Almost a
year after his wife Melissa died suddenly, 21 artists
have contributed exclusive tracks to Ciao My Shining
Star: The Songs of Mark Mulcahy to help the former
Miracle Legion front man continue making music while he
raises his three-year old twin daughters. If you don't
remember that classic longstanding New Haven (and,
early on, Rough Trade-associated) rock band, you might
recall Mulcahy from his other group Polaris, who served
as the house band on The Adventures of Pete & Pete.
Since then, he's released three solo albums under his own
name - the last full-length was 2005's In Pursuit Of Your
Happiness. Anyhow, even if he's new to you, he's clearly
written a number of songs that mean something to a
number of people, as you'll see via the tracklist :

Current mood:  thankful

well . . .

here it is thanksgiving, and i have
to say that there is a lot i am truly
thankful for right now. even though we
are in somewhat sketchy times these
days, i do believe things will be
getting better - way better.

i am thankful that president bush's days
are numbered, and for obama's recent victory
and the good he will hopefully bring to
the united states.

i am thankful for bandmembers
who add to my musical vision, and
to anyone who enjoys our music.
happy thanksgiving everyone!

and i am thankful for my dear wife
my mother and brother, my in-laws
and my two cats,

c. daltry (the 'mericans)

happy thanksgiving

hello friends

the upcoming presidential election is going to make a
big difference in the future of life in america, which i believe
has already been severely tarnished by the past 2 terms of the
bush administration ~ obviously i endorse Barack Obama

in my eyes, a vote for mcCain will most certainly be
a continuation of the failed polices of bush and his people
and it should be obvious to everyone that this is not
what our country needs ~ Obama is the answer

if you are not a registered voter

in the upcoming november election
