So after 9,000 miles, 1,000 beers and 29 states we're safe and sound and back in the Boro. The tour went as great as we expected. Our 1990 Chevy Beauville did us proud. We lost our AC for 2 weeks after our serpentine belt took out our rear AC line, but other than that she got us to every show. We got to play a lot of places we never played before, including a boat.
We couldn't have had better hosts. Lucero took real good care of us and it was awesome to get see a band we love and admire play every night. They are some of our oldest and dearest friends and truly one of the hardest working bands in rock n' roll.
In hindsight the things that stick out the most are: my guitar getting stolen then getting it back, Mr. Jimmy falling in love, getting to swim in the Pacific Ocean, riding on a boat around Manhattan while Lucero and Justin Townes Earle played, 2 days in Vegas, and hanging out with my best friends for 6 weeks doing what we love.
I realize more so than ever that we live in a beautiful country full of beautiful people. I hope we made some new friends. If the fates allow there will be many many more tours in our future.
Right now we're home for awhile and I'm eagerly working on the songs that will make up our 6th full length album "Feral Fire". It will be recorded by our friend Matt Pence from Centro-Matic in early January, and released soon after. If you caught any of the shows on this tour, you might have heard a couple of our new songs.
Well, just wanted to let y'all know what's going on. We sure hope we get to see everyone down the road at a rock show near you. Hope all is well. - joey

Hey All,
It's the night before we leave on our 5 1/2 week tour with Lucero and we're here resting up and getting ready for what I'm sure is going to be a party on wheels. We're covering a lot of ground on this one. I believe we're looking at around 30 shows coast to coast.
We're going to be hitting a lot of places we've tried to get to over the years. Sleepercar, Jessica Lea Mayfield, and Justin Townes Earle will be joining at different cities along the way. We're hoping to make some new friends and to see some old ones. Most importantly we're hoping to survive the gas prices. Check the dates and see if ya can't make it out. It's going to be a hell of a time. Stay safe. Hope all is well. - joey

On Saturday May 24th, Music City Arts tv9 will hold a live, on-air telethon from noon to midnight. The goal of the day is to raise funds for satellite upgrades. These upgrades are necessary for acquiring better satellite feeds, more diverse programming, and to send our signal to other channels. One of these satellite channels we'd like to carry is SCOLA. SCOLA provides six channels of 24 hrs a day original programming from over 100 different countries. All of these shows are shown in their native languages. Subscribing to SCOLA also entitles every K-12 student in Davidson County, public and private, to a SCOLA membership. This means free access to SCOLA educational materials in the classroom and online. There are several channels like this that are available at a free to nominal charge - they just necessitate adequate satellite equipment.

Well, our week of sin and debauchery is over. We’ve scrubbed the layer of bar film off our bodies and are ready to assess the damage.
SXSW was a blast as always. We can only compare it to spring break for rockers. Thanks to everyone who came out to the "This Is American Music" revue shows. And thanks to Undertow for having us play their showcase and for all the folks who came to that show as well. A BIG HUGE thanks goes out to the Drive-By Truckers for letting us tag along in Memphis and Nashville this weekend. They’re hands down one of the best live bands in the country.
We here at the Glossary camp are trying to make plans for the next couple months. Keep an eye out for more shows with the Drive-By Truckers. Right now Chicago, May 2nd and Indianapolis, May 3rd are confirmed. We will also be playing with our good friend Mic Harrison at his cd release party on May 30th in Knoxville. We’re looking into to filling in some shows in April, so get back with us.
We also wanted to remind everyone that we’re still taking submissions for t-shirt designs. All you have to is send a photo file to glossary@glossary.us. Try to keep it to three colors or less. If we decide to use it, we’ll send the artist $100 and a couple shirts. Thanks to Kevin in Little Rock and Maggie in Seattle for your awesome designs. Well I guess that’s all I got. We hope everyone is doing well and spirits are high. We’ll see ya at the next rock show. - joey

We'll we all decided that our previous 4 albums aren't good enough so we're gonna go make another. Monday morning, Feb. 19th, we will taking up residence with local analog and vacuum tube hero, Mr. Brian Carter. The new album will be named "The Better Angels Of Our Nature" Mr. Jimmy (AKA Matt Rowland) of Ghostfinger fame will be joining us to lay down piano and organ tracks. Thats about as fancy as it is going to get. Glossary + Matt + Brian Carter + a Ampex MM1000 2" Magnetic Tape Recorder should = a damn fine new Glossary recording. Hope to share something new with you in a few weeks.

We're in Kansas City, MO and starting to stir this morning. We've been taken in by a mighty generous couple, Chris and Abegail, who are in a band called the Gaslights. They saved us from motel hell and opened their home to us - we are eternally grateful. The show was aparsely attended due to the Tuesday night thunderstorm. But those who were there were treated to a lively reunion of sorts. We played with a special vim, being excited about the first show of this little jaunt - or maybe it was pent up energy from sitting in the van for 9 hours. Either way, everyone is looking forward to playing this lineup every night. I should also mention that we got pulled over when we were trying to find our host's abode - Bingham almost ran through a stoplight (halfway through the intersection) while a cop was stopped at the other side. After the usual "whatcha doin, been drinkin'?" stuff he informed us that our plates were expired (news to us) and went back to the car to chat with his partner. When he came back, he said (no shit) "Anybody with a 'God Bless Johnny Cash' sticker deserves a break tonight" and proceeded to give us directions to where we were going. How's that for MO hospitality? There's some good ones out there, people.

Our hometown, Murfreesboro, TN is home to the worlds largest cedar bucket. (no shit!) It was built 118 years ago as a promotion for the bucket company. It went to the Chicago Worlds Fair and other stuff. People drank beer from it in 1904. Anyway, last night is was set on fire by a really shitty person.
