So my plane was supposed to get into San Diego at 10:30 last night... around 11:00 we were still circling due to fog/low cloud ceiling. They then announced... "oops, out of fuel, flying up to Ontario to get some more."
We land up there, and they tell us to hold tight for about 20 minutes while they refuel and then we will be back up in the air to make another attempt at SD.
Ten minutes pass and they open up the plane doors and a Southwest rep comes in and says, "yeah, you guys aren't going anywhere... the weather is getting worse in SD, not better." We all get off the plane. get our luggage and the Southwest people proceed to start handing out Taxi vouchers for the 2 hour trip, you just needed to find 4 people going to your general area... yep, that is right, squeezing in the back of a taxi for two hours with strangers in the wee hours of the morning, fun, eh?
Anyway, they were also able to find one touring bus, which held 45 of us... I got on that... it took us to the San Diego Airport, I took a taxi home, got home a bit before 3am.
