Just to let everyone know...
One of my songs off of No Static, Ship recently aired on Degrassi:The Next Generation. I was on youtube recently a there were a couple different people who created music videos for my song Ship without my knowledge. I don't mind of course, because it was a very sweet gesture, and the more fans I can attract the better. However, I wanted to let everyone know for that reason, I wanted to remind everyone that I've had my Studio South music video of Ship uploaded here on myspace for almost the past year now, so don't forget to check out my videos if you're a fan of the song, and want more. The studio south version is a bit different from the album version, but it's equally as good, if not a bit cooler because it gives you a first hand look at how the songs will take form and life in the recording process.
Aaron and I decided to run through the song a couple times while we were in the studio that day, and the camera crew jumped in with us to record it for footage. The footage turned out amazing, so we created this music video.
I hope you enjoy it, and let me know if you have any questions. Refer others to the page who like the song to if you feel so inclined! Just click on the "videos" tab under my picture and it'll bring you to the video!
Thanks again guys for all your support!

Current mood:  hopeful
February was a great month, and it was def. action packed full of crazy
shenanigans and stories to share, but I'll try not to babble on to much
for this entry. I have expierianced 77 degree weather this month, AND 10 inches of snow too...talk about whacky weather. This type of whether isn't suppossed to start till next month I thought right? Anyway, to catch up to speed on the past couple months I'll start with January.

I had a couple of amazing shows right at the end of January in
Asheville at The Grey Eagle and in Davidson at the college. The show I
did in Asheville was with The Lovell Sisters and The Duhks. We had a
great turn-out, and a super warm and enthusiastic crowd at that. The
Lovell Sisters warmed up the stage with an acoustic bluegrassy country
mix, and then myself and my band took to the stage and rocked it out
and sounded excellent of course. We had a lot of fun together up there,
and we had Tom Leiner join us again on electric, and if you haven't had
the chance to hear him with us yet, you should def. try to do it soon.
The Duhks took the stage after and were out of control of course and
set the stage on fire and had everyone on their feet dancing and
smiling and singing along. It's always such a treat when I get to play
with those guys and each time it only gets better.

The next day my band and I played in Davidson at Davidson College in
the student center. Another great turn-out, complete with my very own
band-aids who made posters and signs for me and everything reading:
"Kellin's Gellin" and "Kellin Rocks Our Earballs off". It was very
amusing, and very flattering and sweet. Truth be told, the two girls
who made the signs are friends/fans of mine who made me the exact same
signs about 3 years ago when they were in high school, and they decided
to bring the thrill back since I was now playing at their college 3
years later! They passed the signs around, and had their cute guy
friends hold them most of the time. Those boys owned the sign holding
task for sure too. I'm lucky to have such cool people in my audiences.

The last week of January, I had to motor my busy body straight to
Charlotte NC to begin working on Amerwrecka, the play I had been asked
to take part in for the month of February. I stayed with the director
and his family along with two of my other cast mates. From the moment I
walked in the door, one of my cast mates, Kevin Patrick Murphy and the
director/writer J.D Lewis were both already hard at work. I was super
nervous coming into it because I was coming into the rehearsals a
little late in the game due to all the gigs I had leading up to it.
However, once I was finally there, I was ready to work. We jumped
straight into the "blocking" and such for my part. Between the director
and my partner in the play, Murphy, I instantly felt at ease and
supported and all my nervousness began to ease a bit. To be honest, it
was kind of exciting facing this little fear of doing some acting
again. The cast was a group of very talented and warm-hearted people
who made the entire expieriance very memorable and fun. We did songs
from the 60's like Four Dead in Ohio, Woodstock, For What it's Worth,
The End, Deja Vu, Living For the City, etc. We had a live band to back
us up that was made up of some of Charlottes finest musicians, and they
truly helped bump the production up a few levels. It was a lot of fun
singing with those guys, and I had a lot of fun doing it.

One of the most amazing things happened to me while we were doing the
play. We did a total of 9 shows, and on our 6th show, after the show
was over, I saw my father, and a woman standing near the stage waiting
to talk to us. I learned that the woman was my characters best friend
and roommate from Kent State. She gave me unforgettable complements and
gave me such a wonderful sense of accomplishment that night by simply
being there and letting me know that our work on the production gave
meaning to the 4 senseless deaths that occurred in 1970 at Kent State.
To make the situation even more crazy, after speaking with her, I
learned she's from Flat Rock NC, which is only about 20min. outside of
Asheville! Talk about coincidence.

The last weekend of the production, I completely lost my voice!!! I had
one of the worst cases of laryngitis I've had in a really long time! It
was like a really bad dream coming true when I found myself in the
middle of trying to sing the opening song of Woodstock, and I could
barely get the notes out, and I sounded like a bad female version of
Joe Cocker in my mind, but everyone said it was fine. I screeched all
of my lines out, but by the end of the play, I found a range in my
voice where I could hold a flem free note for moments. I just
remembered all of the tricks I'd learned over the years and just
started doing crunches so to speak, while I sang the more demanding
parts...by the end of the night I was exhausted, but at least I was
able to get through it. I was super bummed I still had no voice on
closing night, however, I was able to control and manipulate my vocals
at least a little better than the night before on closing night, so all
was not lost in my over-critical mind. It was a really amazing time,
and I sincerely miss all of the people I spent the last month with.

While we were doing the play, my two roommates, Cher Ferreryra and Kevin
Patrick Murphy and I all became very close as we lived like we were at
summer camp. They both kept me laughing hysterically the whole time,
but they also helped me tremendously in some of my acting skills, and
truly made my month in every way. J.D Lewis's children are such cool
kids as well, and Cher and Murphy were so great with them. I ended up
nicknaming the two of them mom and dad because I def. wasn't much help
when it came to any type of disciplining or comedic relief for the kids
while babysitting.

I'm so grateful that I was able to meet and make new friends through this experience.

While I was living in Charlotte I played a few gigs of my own as well.
I played at Summit again, having Zach Blew open for me, and he was
amazing of course. Then I played with a full band at The Evening Muse
as well, and had a great turn out with great people there to show
support, which is always a blessing. The night after closing night of
our production, I played at The Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte
opening for The Nitty Gritty Dirt  Band. Magically, since I rested my
voice and invested in a little homeopathic cure for laryngitis, my
voice was half back, and instead of sounding like a dying cat, I
sounded a bit more like a sexy kitten! I kept thinking of that Friends
episode where Febe gets sick and starts sounding all sexy, and then she
gets better and she loses her sexy voice so she trys to get sick
again...any other friends fans remember that one? Anyway, it was much
easier to work with the songs because I know them like the back of my
hand since I've been singing them for years and years. While inside the
neighborhood, a mini blizzard began to fall outside, and we got
somewhere around 10 inches of snow...or something crazy like that. It
was awesome. I enjoyed meeting those guys from The Nitty Gritty Dirt
Band, they were all very sweet to me, and gave me some very interesting
tips on solving larygintus in a pinch...Their roadie was a bit of a
jerk, but they were totally cool. It was a good time, and good way to
wrap up my time in Charlotte.

Tomorrow I head to Nashville TN to do a show at 3rd and Lindsley with
Sarah Siskind! I'm excited to head over there and catch up with old
friends, hopefully make some new ones as well.

I'm also headed to New York City at the end of the month to play at
Rockwood Music Hall, so if you know anyone up that way, or if you live
up that way, help me spread the word! It's on a Sunday night...so I'm
worried it might be a slow night for music, but I could be totally
wrong! Who knows. From what I hear, it's a show with Vienna Teng, so
maybe it'll actually be a big turn out regardless. Either way, come
hang out if you're around there.

After that, in April I'll be gettin' my beach blanket bingo on in
Charleston SC and Edisto Island SC on the 9th and 10th, and then back
to Black Mountain NC on the 11th to open for Cyril Neville! I'll be
doing that show at The White Horse in Black Mountain, which is a really
great new music venue.

I have a few other shows worth attending as well in April that you
should def. check out if you have time, opening for Amy Lavair at the
Grey Eagle, and then I'm doing Greeville SC's Downtown Alive again at
the end of the month.

I'm working on getting some booking's out West and up north more, so
hold tight if I haven't hit your city yet, I'm working on it I promise!
But it also helps to be sure and let me know if you want me to come by

The only other news that I can remember to share right now is something that I may have already mentioned...but since I can't remember, I'll tell you anyway. So if you remember, one of my songs was selected to be on Degrassi: The Next Generation, When Is Enough Enough, a few months ago...so they decided to use another song as well, this time, Ship. So, if you watch that show and you happen to hear Ship, let me know! I'm always the last to know it seems otherwise.
Thanks for reading...I hope you're doing well and having a good 2009 so far.
I'll talk to you soon.

Current mood:  curious
Happy 2009 everyone!
Oh my oh mine. The number nine rhymes with so many great words...fine, divine, pine, shine, wine...i could go on for lines! But instead, on to more important matters.
YOU. I hope you had a great holiday and new years. I did a lot of resting in between a few really great local shows this past December, which was much needed.
I did an acoustic set with my friends, the always incredible Zach Blew, and the music genius Tania Elizabeth at spanking new club, The White Horse in Black Mountain NC, on Dec.20th.  The Cyril Lance Band followed us and with special guests joining them, my father, Fox Watson and one of his long time fiddle students, Sara Wooldridge for a few Cajun tunes that were great. I even got up and sang a few songs in French with them. (hooked on phonics worked for meee!;-) After that Woody Wood and Hollywood Red rocked out for a bit, followed by Velvet Truckstop bring the southern rock vibe in. Lastly, Artimus Pile's family band closed out the evening complete with a little free bird and sweet home alabama of course.
There was a nice energy to the evening. It was a sell-out crowd, and we even were able to raise a healthy amount to go towards the special olympics as well! There was a video made of the evening, and rumor has it that the video should be out soon...so if you were one of the many people who got turned away at the door, fear not, a video is on it's way. I'm assuming you can get it via The White Horse...but I'll find out for sure. The White Horse is truly one of the nicest clubs I've played in western nc, and I look forward to going back soon.
The next week, my band and I played Jack of The Wood for the first time, and it was a real blast. Somehow, I had another sell-out crowd at Jack of The Wood! To those of you who came out but didn't make it in, thank you sooo much for coming and trying to hang. I'm so sorry you couldn't get in! Big thank you's go out to everyone for that matter, who came out that night to show your support and have fun with us. We really enjoyed doing what we do that night, thanks to you guys.
If you missed out though, don't worry, be happy. I'm playing again with my band next week at The Grey Eagle with The Duhks! It will be my last local show for a while, and The Duhks never fail to deliver a high energy performance, so I hope you can make it this time (or again this time).

In other news...I will be taking part in a play for the month of February called Amerecka. Written by playright and acting coach, JD Lewis, the play premiered receiving rave reviews at th Fringe Festival in Edinburgh a couple years ago. Sometime last year the play premiered on the West Coast in LA, and now has made it's way to The East Coast as well. I'm honored that I was asked to play one of the leads, and I'm really looking forward to stretching out a bit.
The play will be running Feb.12-14, 19-21, and 26-28 at The Charlotte Arts League in Charlotte NC. It is sure to be a great success, and if you live in or around the area, I hope you'll be able to make it out. Hopefully I won't fall on my face, but even if I do, it'll make for a good laugh at least.
The play is based around the shootings that occured at Kent State back in the 60's , killing innocent college students at a peace rally. For a more eloquent discription and more info on the story and the play itself, be sure to check out the website.
In March and April I'll be darting around playing and spreading some love in new york, nashville tn, charleston sc, edisto sc and a few other places that are being scheduled as we speak. I hope to make it to your side of the tracks this year. So if I haven't made it there as of yet, make yourself heard and click my "demand it" widget to let me know where to go.
Did you make any new years resolutions this year? Any you think you'll actually keep? 2009 seems to be the beginning of plenty of new things from presidents to tv's. Whatever your newness maybe this year, I wish you all the best in finding it and making the best of it in 2009.
I hope to see you soon.

Seasons Greetings Earthlings.

I wanted to post some stuff that's been going on in the past month that might be of interest to some of you...

So my song When Is Enough Enough was selected to be on this Canadian teen drama, Degrassi: The Next Generation, as some of you may know. I wasn't exactly sure when it would be airing, but thanks to a fellow myspacer, I was informed last week that it has indeed aired recently.(thanks to miss haley)
So anyway, if any of you reading this would like to see the episode and hear my song on the show, go to: http://www.the-n.com/theclick/?categoryId=5006&
To watch it, follow the link, then on the right hand side of the screen, click the third box down which says "FULL EPISODES", then scroll down to "Uptown Girl pt.2". It's towards the end of the show, playing through a full chorus.
It also comes on the CTV network. So if you have On Demand, or digital cabel, you should be able to get the channel and I'm sure it'll re-run at some point. It's actually kind of entertaining watching the episode. It's kind of funny. But not on purpose of course. ;^)

Another bit of info to inform you on is the new music video we've uploaded onto my EPK, and now here on myspace too. You can view it here on my videos on myspace, or you can go to www.sonicbids.com/kellinwatson
A BIG HUGE THANKS goes out to all at Studio South, and Villisonica and Dave and Margret in particular for helping me put such a well made and beautiful video together for Ship (the song I almost didn't include on my album! zoinks) I'm def. happy AP talked me into including it though, and we got such a beautiful moment out of it. I also want to thank Chusey again for shooting such a beautiful piece.
We made the newly edited film for the ISC. The winners are announced in April, so I guess we'll have to just wait and see. Of course, now that I've mentioned it, I'm sure I've jinxed myself, however, the video is so well made that I truly do have faith in this piece for getting noticed. I am hopeful that it will receive the proper attention from this contest, not only for my music, but for all the hard work that the filmmakers and crew put into making it.
Either way, I'm def. eager to get out on the road more and stay busy, so if anyone has a lead they think I should follow, or club they think I should play, share away. Your tips and ideas may not always seem possible at the moment, but they are always appreciated and noted for future moments for sure. Feedback is a good thing.

In closing, I want to make sure to mention that I will be doing a few impromptu performances with my good friend Tania Elizabeth of The Duhks this month, so I hope everyone can catch one of those. She will be playing with me for Dec.20th in Black Mountain, and Dec.26th at Jack Of The Wood in Asheville. We also might be doing a few surprise appearances as a little jazz trio this month and the beginning of next month to for shits and giggles. Plenty of fun stuff going on, so I hope to see you out at one of the shows over the holidays. Till then, stay warm and merry...

I love mini things.

I mean, mini toothpaste tubes, mini deodorant sticks, mini shampoos, mini bottles, mini shaving cream cans, mini q-tip packs, mini snickers, mini hersheys, mini golf... Seriously, the list really could go on for days with all the mini's there are in the world. All though I will say I'm not a fan of mini skirts so much. They're rude to my legs. But everything else mini is just lovely. They're soo cute.
tiny wee little mini things.

My favorite mini thing though? MINI TOURS!!!!!
So I'm going on a "mini-tour" with The Duhks this coming weekend. We will be at Montreat College this Friday, Oct.17th at Gaither Chapel (instead of Lower Anderson Auditorium as orig. planned) The doors open at 7:30pm, and the show starts at 8:30pm. It's going to be a lot of fun. I will have my band with me, and the duhks and I are going to do a couple tunes together too. So it'll be a show not to be missed if you live around black mountain or asheville.
Oct.18th, I'm opening for them and the Hackensaw Boys in Charlotte NC. It'll be at The Neighborhood Theater in Charlotte NC at 8pm. I will be solo acoustic for this gig and the two to follow, with a friend joining me on a tune perhaps. We'll see.
Oct. 20th, we'll be at SMITH'S OLDE BAR in Atlanta Ga. I will be solo acoustic at this show too.
Oct.21st, we'll be at The Melting Point in Athens Ga. I will be solo acoustic here as well.

After that, I will be playing a few more gigs down south as well, so stay tuned for those too.

It's going to be a lot of fun and I hope everyone will try to come out if you live in any of these areas. If you can't make it, send someone you know instead!

In closing, Halloween is happening soon! And you know what that means right? TONS of MINI CANDIES and CHOCOLATES!!!! trick or trrreeeeeat

I hope to see you at one of the upcoming shows this month!

A couple lazy days drinkin' lemonade in shade were had...

And are missed no doubt! Hey ya'll! I hope everyone had a great summer and is adjusting to fall so far. I had an excellent summer, and have plenty to share with you about it...
In July, my song, When Is Enough Enough was selected by a tv show called Degrassi: The Next Generation. I was pretty surprised, and excited, considering they used to make us watch Degrassi Junior High when I was in middle school, during our homeroom period. It was a moral based show, and my friends and I would always quote the show because we found it so amusing. But I secretly enjoyed watching the show...even as dorky as it was, it was better than doing "busy work" for homeroom.
Anyway, the details on the show and the episode my song will be featured on are still coming in, and I will let everyone know as soon as I have an idea also. But it should be interesting. Aaron Price whipped up a quick instrumental version for the show in one day because he's the man.
Around the same time, Amos Lee came into town and I got to hang out with him and the band for the day as we tooled around town running errands and eating vegan food. It was a good time and really nice to get to catch up with all of them again. The next night they played at The Orange Peel and sounded phenomenal. It was a great concert, and he sold the Orange Peel out if I recall correctly. It was jam packed and hawwwt.
Anyway, in August I recorded a few more new tunes I've been writing, and focusing on booking a few shows. By September, I found myself with shows every weekend. Which is always a good thing.
I played The Biltmore a couple of times which was nice. I also played Summit Coffee House once again in Davidson NC to a sold out crowd! I love my Davidson crew! The celtic godfather of soul, James Brown opened up for me with a cello player with poetry being read in between his tunes. Aaron Price and I played Summit solo, and had a couple guests join us onstage for a few tunes, Mike Orlando played mandolin, and sounded great, and Michelle Malones bass player, Phil Skipper joined us as well. They both were amazing and it was one of the most enjoyable sets I've done by far.
The next week The Duhks rolled into town to hang out with us for the week. We had so much fun. They recently have added two new members of the group, Sarah Dugas, and Christian Dugas. Yes, they're brother and sister, and they're an unstoppable force together. They both ooze with talent...it's sickening! Anyway, their new CD is out, Fast Paced World in which Ms. Dugas wrote most of the songs for in fact. It's a great record, showing their growth in their sound and as a band over the years. Go buy it! I think it's featured on itunes right now too...go go go
This past weekend, I played The Downtown in Morristown TN, with The Stereofidelics and it was a delight. We'll be in Johnson City Tennessee on Nov.29th, so if you didn't catch me in Morristown, come to JC!
Saturday we played a new club in town called MODADDY'S. It was great! It's such a cool bar, and has a really good vibe to it. You should definitely go hear some music and cut a rug there if you're around the Asheville area.
Which brings me to now. This coming weekend, I'll be in Edisto Island SC at Dockside Lounge. I'm excited to go to the beach in September...it won't be as hot as it would be last month...I think at least. If I get their early enough I plan on going straight to the ocean and putting my feet in! We'll see.
The next night, Sat. 27th, I'm playing a private birthday party in Bardersville NC. Which is a place that I surprisingly enough, have never been to. So it should be fun.
And lastly, the Bob Moog Benefit that I've been planning with Billy Corgan and Michelle Moog Koussa has been postponed. I hope to have word on the new date this week. As soon as I have the new date confirmed, I will notify everyone for sure!!!
Much love to you all still reading...I'm still working on by booking for fall/winter/spring 2008 and 2009. So if you have any hints you wanna throw, holla ;)
Till next time...

GREETINGS NEIGHBORS!

I am listening to the new Amos Lee album right now, and it's really amazing. Everyone should go out and buy it. He's on tour currently too, so go see him if he comes to your town.

Anyway, I have posted some new shows, check those out. I also started recording a few scratch parts yesterday at my drummer Jim Arrendell's little studio. Granted, I don't think I'll be making another album for at least a year, I have had a couple musings randomly as usual that have helped me to write some new stuff. I will be gradually working them into my sets to come, so maybe you'll get a sneak peek if you come to a show!;-)

In addition, I'm in the process of working on a special project/event for October that I can't wait to spread the word on. For now though, I'll give you two clues. Bog Moog Foundation and Billy Corgan. Stay tuned for more in the coming weeks/months.

I'm also working on booking for Fall, and Winter months. I reeeally would like to get up north more and start making my way out west this year if I can afford it. So, If anyone would like to help me out, or book me for an event or party,  please get in touch asap to discuss the details. I'm looking to book a bunch of dates back to back if I can pull it all together. So, pass the word along to anyone you know who could help me to play outside of the good ol' asheville. I can only book so many independently...

Speaking of INDEPENDENCE, Happy 4th. Perhaps a more musical fact in history however,  is that 182 years ago today, songwriter Stephen Foster was born in present day Pittsburgh PA. Googlecate yoself. dooo dah dooodah.

Spring has a way...

Well, spring is finally here and it's time for the newness to begin right? Or something like that I suppose.

I have recently returned from a brief acoustic tour up in nyc to promote the new album, No Static. I was very well received and pulled out some great crowds! It was nice going up there this past time because I knew a few more people than the last couple times I've visited. Some of the people who showed I hadn't met though, so it was really nice to meet and make some new friends up in NY this time around. Aaron Price is up there doing a house swap thing with a friend, and is loving it. He's super busy as usual, and has been the music director for a small non-denominational church in ..:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Harlem called the New Horizons church. I attended one of the services while I was there and it was really nice, and filled with warm and delightful people. Aside from that, Aaron has been playing his own stuff, and playing a bit with some friends he's made since living up there over the past few months. He will return though in May, which brings me to my next topic of conversation...

I don't know if any of you have been keeping track, but I have quite a few festival dates booked for April and May. I tried sending this blog out the week before the shows this past weekend, but something was up with myspace and it wouldn't let me post the blog. So I've revised...

This past week I opened for Susan Tedeschi at the Artisphere International Arts Festival in Greenville SC on April 19th (this past Sat.). It was a beautiful afternoon, and we had a lot of fun. I even had the opportunity to meet Susan and give her a copy of No Static! She was very friendly and down to earth. She was wearing the cutest little vintage pointy eye glasses with jewelstones on the outter corners too. She was such a sweetheart, which is always a nice affirmation when meeting an artist you admire!
I will be back to Greenville for their Downtown Alive series in June, so if you missed me this time around, there's always June!
That same day, we raced back to Asheville to do another set with The Broomstars and Erick Baker at The Orange Peel at 9pm! It was nuts getting there, because we left Greenville at 7pm, and just barely made it back to The Orange Peel by 8:45pm. It was the fastest sound-check I've ever done, but the sound was surprisingly great none the less. The Broomstars followed us and they were great! They put on a really good show, with really energetic songs of substance. You should check them out here on myspace. Erick Baker was the final act of the evening and he had some truly heartfelt and well crafted songs that captured every one's heart in the room. It was a nice line up, and I enjoyed sharing the evening with such down to earth and friendly folks. The room just had a good feeling going through it all night. I look forward to playing there again this year.

Speaking of line-up's, joining me for both shows that night were a group of fine musicians. The incomparable Mike Rhodes joined me on percussion and drums, the revered Matt Smith on Pedal Steel and Electric Guitar, and the howlin' Jake Wolf on Fretless Bass. We did an acoustic set up at the Artisphere, and Mike Rhodes played hand drums etc. But for our Orange Peel set, The Broomstars were kind enough to let us use their drum set, and Mike Rhodes played set and a few hand percussion  things as well. He did a really wonderful job winging it and sounded amazing, as did Matt and Jake as always. If you missed out though, fear not, we have plenty more shows in store in the months to come...

I will be playing the Black Dog Cafe in Tallahassee Florida on April 27th at 6pm until whenever. The Black Dog Cafe is a sweet little coffee shop right next to Lake Ella in Tallahassee and great for a relaxing Sunday afternoon show. So if you know anyone in Tally, or you live around the area, be sure and come out!

In May, I've been asked to open for LITTLE FEAT at The Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte NC on Tuesday the 6th at 8pm! That should be a great show for those of you who live around the Charlotte area. After that, the real festival craziness will begin! We will be playing with the full band at LEAF in Black Mountain NC on Sat. at The Barn at 6:30, and Sunday on the Main Stage at 11:45am. LEAF is one of my favorite festivals for sure, so if you haven't ever been you should def. check it out: www.theleaf.com
We will be with the full band on Sunday including the Horns! Which I'm so excited about. I love the dimension they add. We will also have percussionist River Guerguerian joining us, which is always a treat.

The Following weekend, May 17th, we will be at The Biltmore Estate doing a semi full band set. No horns this time, but we will be serenading the lovely wine drinkers and culinary consumers dining at The Arbor Grill (next to the winery) that afternoon, so if you're interested, you can purchase tickets at The Biltmore online. The Biltmore Estate will be celebrating their Festival of Flowers that weekend. Your ticket will give you access to all over, but you'll want to be sure and head down to The Arbor Grill for the show which starts at 1pm and goes on till about 5pm.

May 25th, the full band will be playing at AMJAM in Deer Feilds NC. There are some amazing acts that will be part of this festival, and you should be sure and check it out. I will be performing with the full band of course then as well.

May 30th, at The Grey Eagle in Asheville NC, we will be sharing the bill with another amazing fellow Asheville band Jar-e. At POP-Asheville this past January, I was lucky enough to catch the last few songs of a true diamond in the rough, bossa nova/samba group, Banana Da Terra. The three groups are sure to deliver a great evening of music, so I hope some of you can make it out that Friday night.

Our last show of the month will be May 31st, as part of the Femme Fest. The festival will take place at different Charlotte music venues, but our show in particular will be at The Double Door Inn. More details on times etc. to come.

In June, as of now we have these two shows booked, I will let you know as we add more to the schedule. For now however, the following are set,

Saturday, June 7th, at The Purple Onion in Saluda NC, I will be performing an acoustic set with a few other musicians to back me. The Purple Onion is always a nice atmosphere, and you can dine while you listen, which is always a plus.

Thursday, June 19th, we will be with the full band once more at Downtown Alive in Greenville SC at 5:30pm. Set in the heart of downtown Greenville, the Downtown Alive music series will be spotlighting our band for the evening.

For the time being, that pretty much sums up most of the upcoming dates listed. Of course, other dates always flood in at the last min. so I will be updating my schedule often, so be sure to check back if you don't see a date listed that you can attend now.

If anyone is interested in learning more about my trip to NY, be sure and check my homepage for a closer look: www.kellinwatson.

I hope everyone is enjoying Spring in all it's fickle glory so far. I almost stepped on a copper head snake the other day, and 2 wasps were harassing me to take them for a joy ride in my car, alas, they were kicked out. Look out for all those lovely little springtime stingers, and I look forward to seeing some of you at a show soon!

Just a reminder...

So POP Asheville is happening this weekend. It kicks off today at The New French Bar in downtown Asheville. All the music starts tomorrow at various clubs around town. I hope all of you will be sure and take your early afternoon naps so that you can be fully energized for my 12:15am set at Stella Blue. Of course, if you're interested in checking out any of the other 34 bands that will be featured this year, you are encouraged to show your support there as well! Tickets are $15, which is a major steel for all the great music that you can LaZoom to and from . Here's a schedule of the bands and venues for Sat. and Sunday, for more info head over to www.popasheville.com.

It's going to be a great weekend of music. So,  Be there, or be...rhombus.
