Current mood: cheerful
Hollow Godric content and updates are now accessible via Twitter, Facebook, and ReverbNation.
Keep in mind, you can listen to/purchase full songs on BandCamp.com
And as always, you can purchase the physical CD's of our entire catalogue at our clunky (but growing) Official Website
Also, there is a Show at the (Daily) Prophet Bar in Dallas, TX with Dreari Inferi, Kwikspell, Secondhand Magical Supplies, Thomas & Finnigan, Sweetwater All-Stars, Devin (of Owl Post), Just Lily, and more on JANUARY 2 2010! Tyler will be flying down from Pennsylvania to complete the reunion, and we're going all out, electric guitars and all.
Oh yes, and a new secret song has just been completed, for the Dawlish and the Archies Wrock Advent Calendar. More info on its release soonly.
Yes, I know, it took forever for HG to modernize in this Web 2.0 age. Now we're overcompensating.
Happy Holidays/Solstice!
Brandon

THE GIST: DIGITAL DOWNLOADS NOW AVAILABLE HERE
PORTRAITS - UP GHOSTS OF THE HUNT - UP It's taken a long time for me to catch on to this whole "We buy all of our music online, because it's no longer 1995" thing. It was standard practice for me, when I first began to build my now massive music library, to enjoy a trip to the local "CD Warehouse" or other purveyor of hard-to-find independent tunes, and come home clutching stacks of new CD's, which would generally fill up the bulk of my weekend. Eventually, when I entered college, the big thing was to order said CD's off of a digital store like Amazon or equivalent, which I did for a number of years. Like a dinosaur, trudging through the new growth of delicious fauna, trampling what would have been tasty repast, I was oblivious to the idea that consumers these days may have a different (or more efficient) method of attaining the music of their choice. I am aware that for some of you who consider Hollow Godric your 'music of choice', purchasing a physical CD is not, as some from my generation see it, a tradition, but rather a wasteful and overly expensive process. No doubt hundreds or thousands of potential listeners have been turned off by my lack of program-getting-with. I myself have begun to enjoy the ease of iTunes or eMusic transactions. I am happy to present to you a new way to get your hands on HG tunes...For now, Bandcamp is the only digital download site available, but iTunes, eMusic and Amazon will be added by the end of next month, and the music will be equally cheap. The Bandcamp.com site also includes all lyrics, so no more guessing at what I'm mumbling. Progress! -Brandon

Wizards and squibs alike;
I'm sure you're as tired as I am of all these excuses, 'Are we a band, aren't we a band?' 'We are making a new CD, we might be making a CD, what's a CD? Don't we already have one of those?' and 'we claim to be a Wizard Rock band but we don't play many shows'...
Well on August 7th we're back. You've been burned before, you say? Check the preview over there with the songs, I wouldn't expect you to take it on faith alone! "Ghosts of the Hunt" will be available on CD and for download; it contains all new songs, and all of the dark-forest-wanderlust you've come to expect from our music. Just think, a whole new generation that's thirsty for an obscure brand of celtic-ish wizard folk!

To our dear fans and fellows, Life being what it is, change can always be waiting just around the corner. Sometimes you can predict these changes, sometimes they are mercurial, like the weather. Hollow Godric has seen a fair amount of change over the past few years...this is not to say the band itself has changed, or the music has changed, or the goal has changed, but change has surrounded this project from its very conception.
You see, during the tenure of HG, I have had the honor of working with several true friends who are musicians of the highest caliber, spanning states, and sometimes even continents. Oceans have stood between us, and still we have plodded along. Life has swept us along as it has all of you, and has brought us to where we are now.
Currently, I am working long hours, in a very dry part of the world, likely thousands of miles away from any of you. I am preparing to move back to my home state of Texas, and preparations on top of my employment have stymied my efforts at putting more music out on time. Tyler has moved back to his home state of Pennsylvania, and though we will likely play together from time to time, life must move on and we have goals we must attend to. Folks like you all around the world have supported us through messages, attending events, and buying our CD's, and we graciously thank you. So where do we go from here?
Hollow Godric as you know it will always exist in some form or another. In the sleeping undercurrent of the darkest corner of this genre, I will be plucking out snippets of the magical sort until I am no more. I am currently unable to provide you with a CD of the quality that you deserve, or that the art deserves, but that leaves me free to gather my musings songs at a time, and simply give them to you free as they arise, polished and worthy of your time. I have several that I will release very soon, in fact. I am sorry that we have often been unable to meet our own deadlines; we're horrible judges for that sort of thing, but it's nigh impossible when you live the lives we do, as many of you can attest to (long hours for too little pay!). I cannot promise HG will always be active, but it will always receive new fans, always provide you with CD's (as long as we have them in stock!) and always be available if you have any questions, or just want to drop a note and say hello. It is not altogether unlikely that we might pop up at a wizarding event or two in the future, as I dearly love those sorts of things. Within this next year, I should have enough time to dedicate to the amazing world of music, and I will have many projects on the table that you are free to explore if you wish. Music is certainly a journey, and HG is just one small copse along that road (and a very serene, reflective place it is, too).
Again, I am sorry for the seemingly infinite wait for more music, and I hope you all know that were I able, I would weave you a composition long enough to see you through every exhilarating, joyous, pensive, rough, lonely, sunny, rainy and just plain sleepy day from now until the end of our time. Until my schedule opens up to that degree, I shall have to continue in my sporatic, slapdash manner. That, my friends, is one thing about Hollow Godric that will never change.
Love, Brandon

Almost there, folks. I know we said "June! June!" But now we're saying "August, August!" because we all have full time jobs. The worst crime would be to put out something that wasn't ready...Apologies for those of you who are waiting! Good things are coming to you guys!

"Wow," some of you are saying, "By the time the new HG CD comes out, Compact Discs will be outdated!" Well, thankfully for you skeptics, we’ll be providing softcopy options such as ’iTunes’, etc. when the time comes. That time, by the way, is June. Long wait, I know, but it will be worth it. For your continued enjoyment, here’s a rarity from the Days of Wrockmas Compilation entitled "In a Winter’s Breath". We weren’t allowed to show it to you before (with exception to the few folks who caught it during the few hours we accidentally had it posted), but now it’s up for grabs. Download at your leisure. I’ll have a little video of some of HG’s finer moments by next week...thanks to all for buying our first CD, my trips to the postal office have endeared me to a rather cute postal worker! I need excuses for casual conversation! -Brandon

Moving into the holiday season, we're reducing the price of "Portraits" from $12 to $7 ($5 for the CD and $2 for shipping). This price change is permanent, and takes place on the 10th of December, so take your time and save those pennies! While our recording gear is pricey (and I maintain an incurable fondness for learning/acquiring strange instruments), these are not burdens that our fans should have to shoulder. Hopefully now you'll have some extra cash around to perhaps buy another WRock album! Also, we'll look into grabbing some rarified footage of HG over Christmastime. We've provided precious little to sate your appetites this last year, so we must make penance. Information on our second CD will arrive once we turn the bend into the new year.... Forever Yours, -Brandalf the Grey

Answer: Attempting to reconcile full time jobs, personal hurdles and other musical projects with the idea of completing our second CD. Time is in demand these days, and it's hard to scrape enough together in order to get the things that I need done, well, DONE. The holidays are coming up! Did we prepare anything this year? Well, if you keep abreast of our friends at Wizrocklopedia, perhaps you'll find out. As always, the album will come when it's ready, and I promise that 'when' won't be in the distant future. Please enjoy your holidays and come up with some awesome Cider recipes, after coming to terms with the fact that you could never outstrip Nathie and I in our beverage-smithying ventures....kidding! -Brandon

Alright folks, after a long-overdue performance and an amazing vacation in the states, we're taking a few days to recover. Worry not, recording will continue on the second CD as we move on toward the Autumn holidays. The show in Texas was a lot of fun, and we received a lot of support from crestfallen fans that were too far away to make it. For those that did, Thomas & Finnigan and Catchlove put on great performances, and I thank all of you. We'd also like to commend Katie for her bravery during the Bertie Bott's Bean Challenge. There are a few videos of the show posted on YouTube courtesy of Jackie, and they can be found here.
