This is our 3rd annual holiday clearance sale. We are looking for art of any medium and any subject, as long as it’s $100 dollars and under. This is a *great* opportunity to clean out your artistic closet and make a few extra dollars.
Crafters, we are looking for your unique items as well. Side Show Studios recently revamped our sales area and we are looking to put local crafts on consignment. If you are interested in having items in our gallery for the holidays, or even longer, please let us know.

A look at local Sacramento culture.

Side Show Studios is looking for art that focuses on our local culture and landscape. Do you have paintings of unique local figures, landscapes of delta scenery, or photographs of the ever-changing urban scene? Then you are a prime candidate for this show! Please submit a small assortment of your work to sideshowstudios@yahoo.com attn:Gallery for consideration. All mediums are encouraged, and we are open to working with a variety of sizes. This show will open November 14th, 2009 and will run until December 7th, 2009.

Side Show Studios’ 4th Annual Halloween Art Show....

Featuring the 666 Halloween Show
Side Show Studios is accepting submissions for out 4th Annual Halloween Show. This year we are putting a spin on it by asking the artists to submit 6 pieces that are 6”x6” each and are Halloween/horror/macabre themed. We will be having the standard Second Saturday gallery reception on October 10th but also having a larger costume party and gallery showing on Saturday, October 24th. We ask that if you are interested you contact Sandra at the studio to let her know what you are thinking of doing. The deadline for submissions of ideas and intent is on September 30th and the art deadline is Tuesday October 6th. Side Show Studios Custom Tattoo and Fine Art Gallery is now accepting submissions for its July Second Saturday art show: Pop America. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009.

Comic books, action figures, board games; these are the popular themes representative of pop counter culture and are distinctly Americana as apple pie. Pop Art takes iconic images from television, magazines, and all forms of advertising as a way to define us as a society. If Star Wars, Chia Pets, and Spam influenced your childhood and now your art, then this is the show for you! From kitschy to parodies, any themes or techniques drawn from popular mass culture will be considered.

To be considered for this art show, please complete the following information and submit to sideshowstudios@yahoo.com.

* Number of art pieces, including dimensions
* A photo of each piece
* A brief bio

The final deadline to submit art is July 1, 2009 (postcard inclusion deadline is June 21). There is no application fee to submit your artwork. Original artwork only will be accepted. The gallery commission is 20% for sold artwork. All artists will be notified via email if their art is accepted or not. Further details for art drop off dates for show hanging will be sent to accepted artists.
