Current mood:  artistic
We are starting pre-production on the cd and we are toying with merch ideas. We still have not come up with a place that will print the HDM shirt for a good price. It may have to be one of those things like the auto industry does with small cars. They take a loss on the small econo-boxes and make it up with the bigger vehicles and the models with the least initial investment. Anyhow, We have some new cards with that main pic on the front and individual pics on the back. Mike had a leather wallet he showed me at practice last night that has that main pic printed on it. The quality was awesome! I guess aside from shirts and a cd, I am trying to put out a feeler for product that you, the potential purchaser of said product would buy. Reply on here or in an e-mail and let us know some of the different things you would like to see us print some art on. We want to let you the fans have some input since it is you that would potentially be buying stuff and supporting our work. Selling this merch will help us raise the capital we need to put out the cd ourselves and to do many of the other things we would like to accomplish. It is you that keeps us going and we appreciate your support. We love you all! Thanks a ton! -Chris {and the rest of Benevolence!}

Current mood:  anxious
Just a few days ago our bass player Stefany had a slight mishap with her new motorcycle. She broke her leg and is going to be in a cast for the next 3 months. That in itself is gonna put a bit of a damper on us doing a bunch of shows. Fear not though, while she is recuperating, Chris and Brian will be beginning pre-production on the full-length CD. We will be coming up with click tracks for each song and recording the drums and rhythm guitar tracks and putting the finishing touches on some of the newer songs. We hope to have everything ready by the time Stefany is better, then we can have her do her bass, keyboard and vocal parts. Hoping to have the CD released by March at the latest (don't quote me on that because we ALL know that stuff comes up.)

We are HELL BENT on getting out there within the next year, we need as much help as possible, we already have some people working on the details behind the scenes, as far as bands go, if you'd like us to play your town, maybe even do a show with you, maybe you can help us contact some of the clubs out there, fans, we just need you to spread the word (if you have any connections that might help, hat would be good too) labels, any contacts and connections you can provide would be excellent as well. Promoters, if you have any shows and or festivals you could help us get on that would be excellent. Want to keep our myspace clear of all the back and forth correspondence so please write to us at benevolencemetal@yahoo.com (might actually be able to correspond through messenger if you want to hash out details in real-time.
Thanks, Brian (and the Benevolence crew

WE NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Benevolence is in the early planning stages of a European tour!!!! We are bringing along our friends in DEAD RISING and EARTHROT however, having never actually booked a tour outside of the U.S. we MIGHT require a little bit of assistance, so anyone who's ever toured Europe any advice would be appreciated. Any promoters bands and clubs in Europe who would like to help us get the shows booked, arrange transportation and lodging through Europe, we would greatly appreciate THAT as well. We're looking to take a decent amount of time to make sure that every single detail is taken care of. A couple of us in Benevolence HAVE been on tour in Europe, but the tour itself was not planned and booked very well. We want to be able to go out there, play the shows, have the crowds and just come away knowing we had the besttour we possibly could. We appreciate EVERY one of you who supports us and we just want the opportunity to connect with our fans in Europe on a more persoanl level. Thanks, and keep is sick and brutal Benevolence, Dead Rising, Earthrot

In Memory of Jason Evans, our former lead guitar player in 2 Benevolence Lineups and lead guitarist and 2nd lead vocal on Human Disposal Machine...and from the nudge on the comments from Nakoa...I put Human Disposal Machine up on the page. Once I find a way to host it, I would like to make it available for purchase and put the funds toward a Shirt or 2 with Human Disposal Machine Designs in memory of our fallen brother J. -Chris

Current mood:  disappointed
Our lead guitar player has jumped ship to play with The Funeral Procession, we are now lacking a lead guitar player and a vocalist. Here's what we're looking for.... As far as lead guitar players, stylistically we would like someone who can pull off tasteful melodic and leads in the vein of Andy LaRocque, James Murphy, Alex Skolnick, John Petrucci, Steve Vai etc.
Vocally we would like someone who can pull off deep death metal vocals similar in style to Mikael Akerfeldt from Opeth (we want the vocalst to be powerful and heavy but intelligible.) We will also be incoporating clean vocals as well so I skilled singing voice would be a SERIOUS asset.
Stylistically we would like to stay within the heavy progressive death metal sound but incorporating more diverse elements. We are influenced ALOT by Opeth (somewhat soundwise but we also take influence from how diverse they are.) Let me say this first and foremost, we are NOT trying to be an Opeth clone, we want to sound like us, but we are open to bringing as many influences in as possible.

Current mood:  jedi
The newly re-formed Benevolence is almost complete. We are looking into several lead guitar prospects but we also know it's crucial to find the right frontman for the job. Vocally we are searching for someone who is influenced by and/or is comparable to Mikael Akerfeldt from Opeth. We want the deep intelligible and powerful style vocals he uses on the heavy stuff but we also want someone who can turn on a dime and sing a clean melody line.
Musically we are influenced by but are not limited to, Death, Opeth, Gojira, Obituary, Anthrax, Testament, Dream Theater, Soul Embraced, Living Sacrifice and others. We intend on building upon a foundation of some of our influences heavier moments, however we plan to use elements from sources as diverse as King's X, Galactic Cowboys, classical music, jazz. We have no intention of being just another cookie-cutter death metal band. We want to bring something new to the table and we need a vocalist who can assist us in this. We also want intelligent, thought provoking lyrics.
Benevolence comes from a more positive/spiritual side of thinking. to many bands out there just want to focus on the negative side of light, we do focus on the dark sometimes but prefer to delve into the grey areas and possibly even the light. reliable transportation is a must, non smoker preferred but not essential. drugs (if you do drugs, please do us a favour and pass on by.) professional attiude is a must. no egos.......and last of all having your own gear is always a plus. If you are interested in auditioning for us, drop a line one here with your name and number and we will set up an audition.

A bit of miscommunication caused me to be working on the wrong song for the past couple of days... so that song is going on the back burner...to be finished up anyway at the end of drum tracking since I am so close to having it complete in the first place. I will be focusing on the rest of the tunes when i get back from my honeymoon. If I can slip in some more tracking before the wedding I will, and I will update when that happens. Thank you all for your patience thru this time it is greatly appreciated. I look forward to playing shows and seeing all of you again cause that is my favorite part of playing music is the live aspect of things. Please keep spreading the word of the band and getting your friends interested. Thanks again. -Chris
