Dear friends, Plainsong has been included in Paste Magazine's 'Eight Criminally Underrated Albums From 2009' list. I can't believe it made the top 8. You can read all about it here. You will be able to stream the album for the next three weeks from the Paste website. (click on 'Album Streams'). se.

Dear friends, Just a quick message before the year is out.... Firstly, thanks to everyone who has bought the CD this year. Everyone of you who ordered the CD through the store at susanenan.com had your copy of the album lovingly packed by either my Mum or Dad from their village in England. Once I moved back to NY in September, I have been doing the same with all copies sent to anywhere in the US or Canada. We often get e-mails expecting there to be a team of people behind all this (which makes me smile) but at the moment it really is just the three of us. If you would still like to order a copy for Christmas you'd best hurry! Here's a list of the last guaranteed postal dates to your region 10th Dec - Japan & Eastern Europe 11th Dec - Western Europe 17th Dec - Canada 20th Dec - USA 21st Dec - UK If you would like to download the album you can get it now from susanenan.com or iTunes, amazon etc. AmieStreet will be selling it for the bargain price of $5 from the 15th until the 31st December to celebrate it being in their top 50 albums of the year. SHOWS..... If you are around NY on the 12th December (this Saturday) I'll be doing a show at the Rockwood Music Hall at 8.00pm. My dear friend Nate Campany will be following at 9.00pm. And..... I am hoping to get to Europe to tour in the Spring! Until then, Happy Holidays everyone, Susan. x (and her Mum and Dad) www.susanenan.comwww.facebook.com/pages/Susan-Enan/14535975351?ref=searchwww.twitter.com/susanenanwww.myspace.com/susanenanwww.ilike.com/artist/Susan+Enan

Apologies for the last blog being unreadable. It's all back to normal now. Today I woke up to a lovely e-mail and was informed that 'Plainsong' is album of the week on the Iain Anderson show BBC Radio Scotland. You can listen live to the show between 10.30pm and 12.30am GMT Monday through Thursday here, or catch the show later on the BBC iplayer.

Been back home in NY for a week, unpacking, settling in, being
encouraged by the new healthcare plan the administration is building
(am listening as I write), and had time to throw in some more lettuce
and spinach seeds before it gets too cold. The UK was an amazing trip,
the kind where everything falls so easily into place each day feels
like a vacation. The low-key shows in London were so much fun (thanks
for the guitar , Miriam!) and I'm beginning to actually like that city
after many years of not. I think London town is slowly opening up it's
arms. I had originally planned to be in the UK for four weeks but ended
up staying for two months which afforded the opportunity to play
Greenbelt Music Festival just before flying home. (Heard Foy Vance for
the first time and got blown away)
There are a few NY shenanigans coming up. On the 1st and 8th October
I'll be playing two Plainsong release shows conveniently called Part I and Part II. Part I will be at the Living Room and will be a band show and Part II a solo show, at the Rockwood Music Hall. There are Facebook event pages set up for both nights here and here.
We've been getting some really positive feedback/reviews/radio plugs
about the record. Now just to keep the baby rollin'..............
more later.....

A while ago I blogged about a photoshoot I did with photographer Cameron Sterling. The series of pictures, called Song's Edge, are ready and you can see them here... "The Susan Enan portrait is part of Cameron's ongoing project of musician portraits. Cameron conceived the concept for this photograph after becoming familiar with Susan's music in early 2006 when a friend introduced him to her music. The idea refined and came to completion in March 2009. It was originally printed as a triptych and has been made into a special series for Cameron's online portfolio." We had great fun shooting in Prospect Park, Brooklyn trying to avoid the early morning dogwalkers! Check out some of his other work on his site. se.

I promised the album as a download by the end of the month and here it is! For the special price of $5.00, 'Plainsong' is now available exclusively on AmieStreet for the next 8 weeks. There's also a nice little blurb below from Amie Street. se. Plainsong by Susan Enan If you're one of many who discovered Susan Enan through her Acoustic Sessions on Amie Street, today's definitely Christmas in July. Her plaintive "Bring On The Wonder," with guest vocals from Sarah McLachlan, was featured on the second season of Bones and almost immediately brought this English singer international acclaim. Plainsong is her debut album, featuring full-band versions of "Bring On The Wonder" and "Monoplain," and eight other songs inspired by Enan's love for the simple folk of Woody Guthrie and songwriting of Peter Gabriel. Download the album exclusively on Amie Street for $5! For fans of: Sarah McLachlan + Tori Amos + Imogen Heap
