It's been a long and hard 6.5 years. Would I ever give one second of it up? Not for the world...
As of Thursday September 11th 2008, Since the Flood is done. I'm  sure this is a huge surprise to many people, but it was a decision that needed to be made.
No matter what anyone thought of us, we were a blue collar band. We never had the hype that many more recent bands enjoy. We toured our asses off, partied all over the world, and wrote music that we loved to play. Since the Flood never made any money and never turned into a true business. Looking back, I think that this was a blessing in disguise, because we can all walk away and feel in no way cheated. We all had some amazing experiences and all came home broke as shit.
Why the breakup? Gas prices? Member issues? Yup. But those aren't the main reasons. It's just time to move on. For Chuck, Kevin, and Rob that time came sooner than later, but for Dave, Nate, Ricky, Dan and I, the time is now. There's no anger or bitterness it's just time to start a new chapter in our lives and careers.
The amount of people I (and all of us) feel indebted to and need to thank is absolutely endless and to try and list all these people would be pointless. To all our friends all over the world that came to our shows, bought records, and supported us in any way, thank you. We would be nothing without you. To the people at Metalblade, Ironclad, Scott, Leah, Swis, Ramona, Chris, and anyone else on the business side of things, our neverending gratitude goes out to you. We never could have done it without you.
And to you all; you helped me live out my dream. To travel the world, play music, and live on the road is all I wanted to do since I was listening to terrible local bands at age 13. I'm in perpetual debt to all of you and won't ever be able to thank you enough.
Finally, we still have two shows booked that we WILL be playing. We'll be playing a benefit for suicide prevention this Saturday September 27th at Anchors Up(formerly Welfare Records) in Haverhill, MA. It's going to be a great show with special guest Guns Up! along with Far From Finished, Hammer Bros, and Doggfight US. Check out our myspace for the details. Also, we'll be playing October 5th at the Waterfront in Holyoke, MA with On Broken Wings, The Miles Between, Outrage, Pressure's On, and Keepin it Real. This will more than likely be our last western Massachusetts show. We may or may not be doing some sort of final show, but we haven't figured out the details yet. As soon as we come up with a plan, we'll let you know.
Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.

CD: No Compromise Artist: Since The Flood
Label: Metal Blade Records Rating: 4/5
Best Song: No Compromise Author: José da Costa

Right off the start, I'd just like to say I was very pleased with this album. It was just a really solid release on this bands part and to be honest, I wasn't really expecting that much from them. That is until I learned that they're one of Metal Blades' finest, then I was fairly excited to see what I'd be getting. So I waited, days turned to weeks, weeks to months, and I think after having been sent several copies, it finally came. This leads me to believe that I may have a crooked postal worker serving up my mail, or lack thereof. Anyways, I got right down to it and popped the album in my CD tray. What I heard sounded like a mix of several bands I'm all too familiar with, so deliberating what these guys are reminiscent of didn't really bother me. Imagine a mix of Figure Four, Give Up The Ghost, The Hope Conspiracy, and Blacklisted. The music transitions almost too perfectly, the songs don't really leave you guessing what's going to come next. While I was listening along I predicted rather accurately what was going to come up next. The music is fairly dance oriented (not ballroom dancing, the whole "throwdown" thing), there's many a two-step breakdown and lots of quick riffs to get a crowd moving. It's not the most technical music, but it seems to have been recorded flawlessly. You won't pick up a single error that anyone might have made. The CD really didn't take very long to grow on me either, the music does wonders if you're looking to pump yourself up for something (I was listening to it while snowboarding). For the most part the music stays at a very fast pace, excluding maybe a few breakdowns in a handful of songs that get a bit slower than the rest of the album. Eventually the songs begin to sound fairly similar, it made picking out a favorite rather difficult. The guitar riffs just didn't seem to change up that much and as I said before, a bit predictable (I think every heavy band plays ESP guitars nowadays as well, just look at that company's roster). Oddly enough, the guitar still seems to drive the band, along with the vocals. But, not for the last time, the bass could be much more audible. This album wasn't exactly filled with disappointment though, so I have a minimum of complaints this time around.

This brings me to my recommendation I would think. I'm assuming that sooner or later I would have heard this band somewhere had I not got this CD, and I would have had the exact same reaction. Except instead of listening to the album (which at this point in the metaphor is not in my possession yet) I'd listen to as many songs as possible then begin a search for it. The search would most likely take me to a CD Store, where I would buy this, which is what I think anyone should do if they have an interest in this kind of music. It's a really good album and I can't wait to see what else these guys put out in the future. Check them out, except if you're going to use the internet, use purevolume as opposed to myspace. I'm getting tired of seeing myspace links in press releases. Once I even saw a band boasting that they had a friend count of "70000" needless to say, it was a sad day for North America.

Straight from the gritty 'put up your dukes' style street hardcore scene from the Massachusetts area-comes new Metal Blade, former Iron Clad recording artist Since The Flood. This combination of dark, bone grinding, pit instigating, force blends very well when pumped off the speaker coil and delivers a straight adrenaline shot to heart. Enough to make even the newest to the hardcore scene-circle pit.

No Compromise is exactly what it claims in the title; an unapologetic assault of street ethics and individualism that speaks very well to us, the jilted American 20somethings that have nothing to loose and everything to gain. The mind of get up and fight for yourself and for your dreams-is an obvious goal for this record to persuade you to achieve. The first moment of this record will suck you in for the duration of its brutality in a way that I haven't experienced since my first audio injection of Strife or Bloodlet. Give it a listen and hit me back with your thoughts.

If you're into bands like Hatebreed you'll really enjoy Since The Flood. They are also from New England and play blistering and intense metalcore. No Compromise is a nonstop assault of savage riffs, pummeling drums and world class breakdowns.

Since The Flood's style isn't unique, but it is effective. There are plenty of catchy moments in addition to the brutality, which makes it a memorable effort. Chuck Bouley's vocals are angry and emotional and delivered with hardcore style shrieks along with some shoutalong choruses. This is a compact and crushing CD that clocks in at just over 30 minutes. The secret is to always leave them wanting more, and Since The Flood has succeeded.

From the same east coast Metalcore scene as Unearth, Killswitch Engage and Shadows Fall, the band Since the Flood formed in 2002. The band really broke on the scene though, in 2005 when Unearth?s front man, Trevor Phipps signed the group to his newly formed label, Ironclad Recordings and released the bands debut full-length album ?Valor and Vengeance?. Now on Metal Blade Records, Since the Flood has released their second full length, ?No Compromise?, which was recorded at Outpost Studios in Stoughton, MA with Jim Siegal who has lots of street cred for working with the likes of Blood for Blood, Cave In, and the Dropkick Murphy's.

From start to finish ?No Compromise? does exactly what the title says, it does not compromise. It is truly brutal trash inspired metal. Of course the home town bands mentioned above come to mind as influences of Since the Flood, but this is not as nearly as noticeable as the influence from the older pioneers of metal like Slayer and Obituary. When listening to songs like ?I Am Revenge? Obituary definitely comes to mind, mainly because of the trashy/funky rhythmus, speed metal leads and angry shouted vocals, this is the song, by the way, where he does actually say ?no compromise? in the lyrics. Songs like ?At the End? and ?Save It? feature fast paced rhythms, shredding leads and chunky bass lines in the true vein of Slayer and more recently, Lamb of God. There is even a bit of the revolutionary quality of bands like Hatebreed, mostly evident in the vocals.
<br> Since the Flood is definitely one of the hardest working bands out there, and in every respect they are keeping it ?real?. Real metal, really angry lyrics, and really, really heavy rhythm. Fans who like their metal with no frills and no compromise should definitely check out Since the Flood.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Metal Blade Records signs SINCE THE FLOOD!
I am very pleased to announce Metal Blade Records has officially inked a worldwide deal with the brutal North Shore/Boston Massachusetts hardcore band Since the Flood. Since The Flood's debut release, No Compromise will mark the bands follow up to the underground hit Valor and Vengeance which came out through Iron Clad Recordings (Unearth frontman Trevor Phipps' label) in February 2005. No Compromise, recorded at Outpost Studios in Stoughton, MA with Jim Siegal (Blood for Blood, Cave In, and the Dropkick Murphys), shows the band heading in a more focused and intense direction with the end results being a far more concentrated hardcore record than anything they have done in the past. "There's no doubt in our mind that both old fans, and new, will be very surprised and pleased with the direction we've gone musically since Valor and Vengeance" states the band.

No Compromise will be released in early 2007. More information and tour dates will be released shortly. In the meantime if you have yet to check these guys out go HERE and listen to some songs off of Valor and Vengeance.

Since The Flood is:
Luke Buckbee – drums
Kevin Leary – guitars
Chuck Bouley - vocals
Dave Stauble – guitars
Rob Deangelis – bass

Artist: Since The Flood Album: Valor and Vengeance Label: Ironclad Recordings Reviewer: Ronin Link: http://www.sincetheflood.com/ Dave Stauble, Chuck Bouley, Rob Deangelis, Luke Buckbee, Toby Bastille Six month ago or so, these kids were slotted in as an opener on one of the Monsta Mondays shows at Bills Bar. Up until this point I had never heard of them. But when they took the stage, I was instantly impressed! Their sound was bruising, and they had standout stage presence. That was then....... this is now! Since that time, they have improved ten fold. They put together the right lineup for their assault on the hardcore world. "Valor and Vengeance" is STF's first full-length, and in my opinion is a masterpiece of cohesion. What I mean is, when you listen to how tight, and how formed the music and lyrics are on the CD, you will say it is perfectly produced. But I am here to tell you that even with having a great production team, I have witnessed them live and they are the real deal! For a young band, they play together like they have been doing this for 20 years or more. This album is excellent. Ken Susi from Unearth manned the production board, but honestly I don't think he had to do much to get the most out of the band. If you are a fan of bands like Death Before Dishonor or DeathThreat, you will love this album. It is all about loyalty and revenge as the title implies. Super heavy and great gang vocals! Get off your ass and go see them when they play a venue near you. My Pit Scale is 9.0: An awesome album, but only the first one out of this camp. Lets see what's next! Suggested Tracks: All Track Listing: 1) Valor and Vengeance 2) These Scars 3) In My Way 4) 24k 5) Up In Arms 6) The Only Way 7) In My Eyes 8) Enough Said 9) For Today 10) This World is Dead to Me ___________________________________________ Go to http://www.hxcmp3.com/since_the_flood to check em out! ___________________________________________ http://www.theprp.com/reviews/sincetheflood.shtml Since The Flood - Valor And Vengeance Massachusetts' own Since The Flood have assaulted the New England hardcore/metal scene for close to two years delivering their energized brand of metallic vengeance to the masses. After releasing two sought-after demos, Unearth's Trevor Phipps came calling, and a short time later the group found themselves signed to his Ironclad Recordings label. With their aptly titled debut, "Valor And Vengeance", the group stride forth with their goals quite clear: decimate the hardcore world while spreading their beliefs of standing up for oneself and one's associates. The unmitigated aggression that courses through the songs offered here have a savage quality that is fairly common but rarely this accessible. There is also a dominant sense of loyalty and honor felt throughout the album, as the band feel it is necessary to make a positive statement amidst the hardcore mortar shells exploding left and right of them. The intensity that forms the group's pulse manifests in every raw scream and the breakdowns found here hit with the impact of a herd of raging elephants. "24K" carries a devastating blow akin to New York heavyweights Full Blown Chaos, and the relentless explosion of hardcore tenacity should prove to be a crowd favorite. There is little variation to be found though, as Since The Flood have clearly set out to simply destroy all in their path, and this juggernaut approach does leave the album feeling rather repetitive as it progresses. Though the momentum is on their side and the band rely heavily on their strong-arm tactics to carry the nonstop blitz. You may not be able to distinguish one song from another if only giving the album a quick spin, but if you're looking for chunky metalcore with a thirst for violence you should not go away disappointed. "Valor And Vengeance" is a standard hardcore album laced with heavy metal tendencies, chronicling the tried and true formula of the New England underground. The band never try to expand upon the given style, and instead practice inside the expected boundaries that they have chosen to perform. The songs captured here are full of break-neck energy and surprisingly catchy moments - traits that are shared like-minded bands such as Sworn Enemy and Hatebreed, and fans of this particular style should find plenty on this debut to be satisfied by. Since The Flood have joined the forces of today's hardcore/metal in an all-out war against those who dare oppose, and while their form of aural warfare is quite routine, it is exceedingly skilled in slaughtering all those that stand upon this hardcore battleground. Since the Flood Valor and Vengeance Ironclad Recordings Before I popped this beauty in, I had forgotten what it was like to listen to a hardcore record that wasn’t loaded with the blatant influences of metal that’s been flooding the market of recent times. Valor and Vengeance is a record of pure, stripped down, hardcore. No cheesy metal solos. No cheesy metal riffs. Just raw, in-your-face-aggression. The production on this record is crisp, the lyrics are powerful, and the booklet art is impressive. I am delighted to have been aquatinted with the musical offerings of such a sincere and pure band. Brian Bsh/ layers magazine ______________________________________ Another review... http://www.theundergroundscene.net/albumreviews.php?op=view&artid=254 Since The Flood - Valor and Vengeance Band: Since The Flood Album: Valor and Vengeance Reviewed By: Jay Only three releases into his record label career, Unearth frontman and Ironclad Recordings owner Trevor Phipps is proving to be an astute judger of talent. For proof, we turn to Ironclad’s third offering from New Hampshire’s Since The Flood “Valor and Vengeance,” a brutal debut that brings the mosh in a major way. I have no doubts that these kids from the Granite State will be a solid rock in the hardcore scene for years to come. Vocalist Chuck Bouley has a deep and raspy growl that takes charge of “Valor and Vengeance” from start to finish. There are plenty of sing-a-long possibilities, especially at the opening of “In My Eyes.” Bouley sounds like what you get when you blend Phipp’s vocals with those of Throwdown vocalist Dave Peters, just heavy and destructive. What really stands out to me on is the message that goes along with the songs on “Valor and Vengeance.” There is no doubt that hardcore provides some of the most thought provoking songs in any genre of music, and that is something Bouley exemplifies here. A lot of the standard themes of love, friendship and betrayal are evident, but Bouley has a way of eloquently presenting them on songs like “These Scars.” Solid stuff. Musically, guitarists Toby Bastille and Dave Strauble are a destructive force that offer up a standard blend of hardcore riffs with some nice, driving metal parts to complement the overall sound. I wouldn’t call this metalcore, but I also wouldn’t call it traditional hardcore. It’s kind of like a Hatebreed blend of hardcore if you know what I mean, just that indefinable in between. Whatever it is, it is heavy as fuck, and I have seen all too well the results of this audio devastation live (let’s just say it breed the fight to end all fights at one show). The breakdown around the 1:30 mark on “24k” definitely sticks out in my mind, and I am sure that after just one listen you will find your very own favorite breakdown. Overall, “Valor and Vengeance” is about as good as it gets for a debut album. In true hardcore fashion, the songs are pretty straight-forward and keep a nice pace so that the listener never has a chance to really get bored with it. Ironclad Recordings is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with, and Since The Flood is a big reason why. Fans of bands like Hatebreed, Throwdown and Sworn Enemy will dig “Valor and Vengeance,” which is in stores now. Tracklisting “Valor and Vengeance” “These Scars” “In My Way” “24k” “Up In Arms” “The Only Way” “In My Eyes” “Enough Said” “For Today” _____________________________________
