Here in Mundy world, we appreciate that there are plenty of people out there looking for a support. Many acts want to develop their craft or share a stage with an artist they love/like. Here at Mundy HQ the number of requests for supports has reached an unmanageable level.
We get requests through Myspace, facebook and the website.
Some of these requests are from genuine artists we would like but a huge amount now are just myspace and webspam. Cut and pasted emails and messages which are just another on the list that get sent out to whoever can be found active on myspace or facebook or where ever.
Mundy has always loved giving support slots to new acts, to people he meets in a cafe or after a show or sometimes in the street. However in the new world, it is really hard to develop any sense of personality or get a feel for anyone who mails us cold. For this reason we have to tell you, we cannot answer requests for supports through myspace, facebook etc. The older, better, organic, more genuine ways are the way to do it. Get out there, play your own little shows, go to shows and try let people get to know you a little better than a faceless message. The honest truth is that we simply do not have the resources to deal with every request here or at the website.
Mundy does check his own my space but support requests are going to have to go unanswered from here on in. We wish you the best of luck in your quest and sooner or later, if you play for long enough and shape your own voice, we're sure we'll hear about you and see you on a stage.
Thank you, Mundy management.
