'Shelter' was originally created for the 'Needle in the Red' series and played on KFJC circa 2003. It is episode 2, and is presented in Radio Safe format here, re-mastered for 2009. See the links (below) for this podcast to find The Complete Download Package for this program and links to other listings for it. This podcast is an audio-only .mov file, with chapter search if played on iTunes or Quicktime and AAC sound processing. Please note, this is a program of dense, dark and darkly humorous stream-of-consciousness collage. Some of the audio may be disturbing, mesmerizing and/or beautiful. Caution should be exercised when listening to this during driving. Use headphones for best effect. Around 60 min. in length.

Also available....

Needle in the Red - Episode 57 - "Deconstructing Tap"
August 04, 2009

Link | Download | Stream This is a 'Director's Cut' of a psychedelicized collage of the 'Spinal Tap' mythos, which all started with the Rob Reiner cult 'mockumentary / rockumentary', blown up (much like one of the band's drummers) and glued back together with a bunch of other bits in there as well. Includes new versions of old favorites, some NCN mash-ups (Tap vs. Monty Python) and re-interpretations ('The Monkeys Are Asleep Today') as well as clips from the original 'Troggs Tape' of band-drama outtakes (on which the original band concept was based) popping in here and there. All material in this program is fragmentary, re-worked, and used fairly for the purpose of criticism and commentary of said material as expressed through its uniquely subjective, re-contextualized, and syntopical arrangement. Made with Much Love! Please don't sue us. Presented in audio-only .mov format with AAC processing. 79 min. NSFW!

Plundercast will be on TONIGHT 10PM EASTERN go to <a href="http://www.plundercast.net/</a> for full info and listen links! Less then 90 minutes from the time of this post!<BR/><BR/><BR/>Phin<BR/>

Needle in the Red - Episode 01 - 'Illusions' (2009 Re-Master) July 28, 2009

Illusions Cover in thumbnailThis is the 2009 re-mastering for Episode 01 of the psychedelic collage series 'Needle in the Red'. Episode 01 is titled 'Illusions'. This program re-interpretively draws from Negativland's 'Over the Edge' radio show episode called 'The Edge of Illusion' which features many impassioned post-produced rants by Alexander T. Newport about society, 'the illusion', conformity, Generation X and finding peace of mind in a post-modern, disillusioned and cynical world. These rants are interspersed with frenetic, dense, dramatic and energetic media collages in a somewhat dissociated, stream-of-consciousness format. Some pre-mixing of this show was done by Don Joyce of Negativland. Includes 'Sexy Sunglasses' by Cheekyboy, as well as work by Norelpref. Entire program composed and produced by Phineas Narco. Wear headphones for best effect.

I've been working on this new mix called "A Collection of Dangerous Dance Tunes'. It borrows a little bit from my 'Audiorotica' show and various newly discovered mashups and some songs which I've re-discovered, some mods, and a little bit of Alan Watts talking about the Kali Yugo set to Tool and Oingo Boingo.
