Hey folks. I am keeping this Myspace page alive for the time being because it currently presents the best format for displaying shows, reviews, and other such items in the absence of a proper website. I killed the real website some time ago. However, most of our traffic is happening over at our Facebook fan page now. You can become a fan (and please do!) at: http://www.facebook.com/aaronrobinsonmusicAlso, you can pay WHATEVER YOU WANT to download my last record (We Are Racing Ghosts) as well as easily link up to my Facebook/Myspace pages via our new Noisetrade home here: http://www.noisetrade.com/aaronrobinsonA bit of news... we are about halfway finished recording our record. We are recording vocals next week for the first half, and 2-3 of those songs should hopefully be released in some way around the time of October's Next Big Nashville festival. Also, take a gander at a couple of the new photos that have been posted that were taken by our photographic hero, Austin Gros (check out his blog at austingros.blogspot.com or his website at austingros.com). Again, for the most updated source of news as well as the best possible way to interact with us, please check us out over at Facebook! Until our next outing, see you soon! -Aaron

I'm in Charlotte, NC for the weekend writing songs. It's something I absolutely HAD to do. It's a semi-spiritual journey as well. I don't really know what I'm saying, but anyway, I have a blog where I got into much greater detail about this and everything else in my life. You can go to it here:
http://eatsweatcomplain.blogspot.com/
Also, I posted a new song that wrote and recorded in my hotel room tonight. I like it and I think that's what matters most.
I hope to see you all soon! -Aaron

Hey everyone who still checks this page out! I'm still around.
I haven't posted an update in nearly 2 months, and you haven't heard new music from me in some time. I'm working on that. I've been taking some time to work on myself, losing 26 pounds so far, reading and studying a good bit, and just trying to stay active without necessarily working on music very hard or very much at all. However, I've planned a trip to change all that.
Next month, I will be going on my first ever songwriting sabbatical. This may be something I do on a regular basis depending upon how things go. Something in my soul is demanding that I do this, so I'm going to oblige it. The trip requires a good bit of preliminary reading, planning, emailing people, and just trying to ensure that everything goes well. In a nutshell, I've become very moved by the story of the rise and fall of the Bakkers, the family of super-successful televangelists responsible for starting the 700 Club, Trinity Broadcasting Network, and their own hugely successful empire, PTL (Praise The Lord). They are pretty much responsible for starting or helping start every major Christian broadcasting institution.
I guess I'm not super-duper religious, but coming from Cleveland, TN, I think I'll always have the curiosity in my blood whether I want it to be there or not. And I think that whether I want it to be there or not is still up in the air to be honest. So, I'm taking a pilgrimage. I'm going to attempt to tour the grounds of the long-ago defunct and abandoned Heritage USA Christian Retreat. It was the 3rd most popular theme park behind Disneyland and Disney world during the 80's. Once Jim Bakker's scandals became public (a one-night stand, and accusations of fraud), the empire dramatically crumbled. It was one hell of a fall from grace, and the theme park became abandoned and is largely still sitting there decaying nearly 20 years later.
While some of the fall was deserved, in my opinion much of it was a case of religious leaders cannibalizing one another like a hostile corporate takeover. More than just a story about religion, it's a human story, and I'm going to go suss it all out. I can't explain why. You don't get to pick your inspiration. If that were the case, I'd go somewhere happy.
Anyway, I'll be holed up in a hotel for 4 days in Charlotte, NC, except for the time that I'm just on the other side of the NC/SC border on the grounds of Heritage USA or exploring other parts of the area.
So that's that. I don't have shows coming up, but I do hope to have some songs worth recording when I get back to Nashville after Thanksgiving. I'll keep ya posted.
See ya soon. Aaron

Hey guys! It's a pretty huge survey, but it's fun. There are 250 different categories, everything from best burger to best bar to best lawyer. You only have to vote in 25 of the categories for your vote to count. If you place a vote for yours truly in the best songwriter category (whether I am or not), then you're awesome for liking me that much. Call it a self-esteem problem, but I voted for Kyle Andrews. Anyway... check it out, and see you at The Basement NEXT BIG NASHVILLE .. below! http://www.nashvillescene.com/polls/bestof08
