A big thank-you to all who bought 'Twists and Turns'!  We won't know how many sales we got for several weeks as iTunes doesn't report for quite a while.

Thanks for your support!

Hello,

- We have another great demo review from The Excited Echelon

Big Yellow describe themselves as a 'chilled out concoction.' This is an accurate label, I'd say, after listening to three slices of their action. Somehow this is chilled out, but somehow it still has a more edgy, rock feel. 'Twists and Turns' is a song marbled with melody and rhythm, swerving around the stereo. Impressive stuff so far.

As I move onto 'Home,' I feel more of the same coming. The sound flows out of the Big Yellow river and into laidback pop heaven. It sounds at times as if the song will fall apart, but it keeps going and for some reason gives me the urge to prance around. 'Away' sends this triumvirate of songs away, but into my memory for sure. Spinning away like a forbidden dream, the melody curls up and explodes. Wonderful.

Hello,

- We have a great demo review from online webzine damnpest.com

Big Yellow;Demo

This demo brings me back to the Inspiral Carpets, ‘Cool as Fuck’ days, not
just for the music but for the expression. The all encompassing swirl of
cascading atmospherics set against a laid back but boldly resonate vocal
conveys the optimism amongst despair only the children of Thatcherism can
muster. There are elements of Prisoners psychadelia, gothic Cure-like
guitars and the gritty melodies of early James.

‘Twists and Turns’ begins with a tap on the drums and a doom laden clang of
guitar. The sheer struggle of a restrained melody rasping against the mire
and poking its head over the parapet is emotional and almost epic. It is a
raw atmospheric that is rarely espoused in these technologically
materialistic times and is a glorious reminder of how we can incorporate the
mood of the past into modern music. It certainly got me moved.

‘Home’ and ‘Away’ instil the Big Yellow Ethos; lyrics of trying to emulate a
sense of belonging in difficult times are personified with the
aforementioned struggle between optimism and doom encapsulated in the
rhythm. Big Yellow express emotion conventionally disparate to their peers
and are all the more vital for it. Great stuff.
