Dim the lights, invite your friends over, chill alone in your bedroom, spark a doob, get that special someone and bust out the kama sutra positions, do whatever you like to do while you experience a whole album from start to finish baby cause this is about to be a crazy 45 minutes: Robots and Roses Robots and Roses We would put the whole thing up on myspace too but they limit the streaming songs to 10. Hope you enjoy, and thanks again to everyone who saw us on tour! Love, Red Wire Black Wire

We've bitten the proverbial bullet and have created a twitter account.
We are very unfamiliar with twitter. We do not know why it is here. But here, it is. So...be sure to follow us.
twitter.com/rwbw
follow! follow! follow!
We'll be posting updates from the road and anecdotes from the van. It'll be fun.
Ok, great, thanks, and we'll see you in a city near you.
-Jon

We finished the album and now we're going on tour. I'm pretty psyched to play playstation in the van, play shows, and buy scratch-off lotto tickets in as many states as possible (i'm currently $3 up starting September 1st). We've been practicing all day for the past week and I'm psyched to get out there. We're also going to Russia which will be pretty wild.
The record will be available for purchase on September 22nd. I hope you like it.

Whatup folks
I just want to take a sec and say what a beast this guy was.
I knew that he is one of the inventors of the solid body electric guitar. I knew that his music was dope, I used to bump a Les Paul Trio CD. I knew that he played a small club in Manhattan every week, even as a nonagenarian. I kept telling myself to go check it out, never did. But I did not know until reading the nytimes thing on him just now that he also built the first eight-track multitrack recorder. Wow. Also, according to the same article, Lester William Polfus "assembled a recording machine from a Cadillac flywheel and the belt from a dentist’s drill." Are you serious? What a beast. Unreal. I thought I was getting all Tape Op when I covered my Bushwick bedroom with egg cartons, but this dude made a recording machine from a Cadillac flywheel and the belt from a dentist's drill. And if my ear serves me correctly, he was sweep picking way before Yngwie or any of those guys. Shred minus wank equals Les Paul. Astounding technique plus tasteful tone equals Les Paul (and also equals Mark Knopfler, but that's another story).
Plus, I play a Les Paul, so when you listen to Red Wire Black Wire you're hearing one of Mr. Paul's inventions.
In the same way that I have listened to a lot of MJ in the past few months, I will be revisiting some of the Les Paul recordings in the near future. I invite you to join me. In the even nearer future, gonna drink to Les Paul tonight (probably at the free Yeasayer show).

We finally finished our first video, for the track "Compass." It was shot in an old machine shop and features sexy zombies and lots of jell-o. In other words, it is awesome. It's embedded here on our myspace but here's the youtube link if you want to watch it in HD:

R Dubs has been getting some press lately. In some cases, it is totally baffling. A French Canadian blog said:
"Electro-pop circle Red Wire Black Wire supplied the power to slightest someone to pass on mean the only from spastic jerkiness."
In other cases it is really cool. A writer on MOG called one of their shows "synth-illating!" You can read the whole review here:

Also, Playground Boston came out to our show at Middle East and took a bunch of pictures, wrote a great review and posted an extensive interview. If you want to know what goes on deep inside Jon and Doug's brains, check out the story here:

Yes. R-dubs is currently working very hard on our upcoming album. We're fleshing out our new songs and we're experimenting with things like "wammy bars", "flutes", and "drums".
We're very excited to be mixing the record with Britt Meyers of Great City Studios who's recently been mixing Chairlift, Yeasayer, and Violens.
So watch for the record when the leaves are changing colors, and then we're gonna head out on the road with our small army of six to play some shows and take a tour of the changing foliage.
