So it's 5:30 in the A.M. on May 15 and I'm listening to the last song on the new album after mix down....and I'm being struck by a very reminscent, humbled, excited, and  thankful feeling...Well, I guess sort of emotional cuz I'm so thankful that I'm able to do what I love doing and music means so so much to me.....Thanks to those closest to me...friends and family...

heyhey!!  Just wanted to post a bit of an update on what's been happening..and what will be happening with the new album!!

Well...Saturday we played a fun..but chilly show at the Barefoot Bar in Okoboji (thanks to those who braved the weather!)  After the show...in typical "me" fasion...I lost my F'ing keys...haha..then I found 'em 30 minutes later....

Rob (guitar) and B Moore (sax) and I, had planned on hitting the studio on Sunday afternoon...so we finally got to Kato at two-fish studios at about 3:00P.M. and didn't leave till bout 6:15 A.M. ...yes...A.M.   on Monday morning...It all worked out though n had a great time with those guys!!

I'm looking at heading back up to Mankato to do some mixing tomorrow morning after I take our new puppy "Gabby" to the vet!!  Stayin up there for a few days...then heading to West Des Moines to play at Ak's on Friday with Code-man-doobie.  Can't wait to see some great friends down there!!

Take care everyone.....

So....I'm so excited to get out on the road a bit more...especially in support of the new upcoming album.  Over the past few years I've received so many messages from folks about wanting me to come play at their towns/cities/colleges.  I have not forgotten most of these messages!!  Milwaukee, Chicago, Denver, St. Louis, Fargo....I have good news!!

We are currently booking out for a fall tour!  This is somthing I have been looking forward to for quite some time and I'm definitely ready for it.  We will be actively persuing all of these cities and many more!  Be sure to check back often to get updated on more tour dates that will be posted....

My summer shows are pretty much booked...but I will be updating a few more as the summer goes....

Have a town you want me to come to and play??  haha...lemme know!!!

So it seems like it's been forever since I've had a new album out!  My last one "Live @ Fireworks Cafe" has gone over well, but I'm definitely ready for some new tunes!!  It's pretty cool to get messages from people asking when a new album will be coming out....well....the time has arrived!

In the first part of March I, along with my drummer Chandler Bowerman, and bassist Brandon Mills hit The Terrarium Studio (http://www.the-terrarium.com) in downtown Minneapolis.  We were there along with Aaron Haugeland (Engineer) for 2 days where I also recorded my acoustic guitar parts.

We then moved the production down to Mankato, MN to Two-Fish Studios (http://www.twofishstudios.com) to complete the rest of it.  We've had several sessions over the past month and a half that have gone well into the night..haha!  We have one session left to lay down some sax (B. Moore) and electric guitar (Rob Ankum) that we will be completing this Sunday.

Aaron and I will then be mixing the album down for the following 2 weeks.  The actual release date has not been set yet...but we do expect to release 3 songs before the entire album is released....so be sure to check back often for updates!

Thanks so much for your patience to those of you who have waited...and waited for this new album.  I'm so excited with how things are coming out...and I can't wait to share it with you!

Well first of all...the crew (Kohler, Fargo, Coe D C, and Stretch) were all back together so you know things will get a bit out of control!! Friday evening started out great by goin to see the good guys in Hello Dave perform over in West Glen. It was great to see everyone back together again...and music is usually the tie that binds!!

Headed downtown to set up for the Ak's show...and bopped up to see the Los Lonely Boys performing upstairs at Peoples...They rock! then the show at Ak's was an absolute blast! Code man doobie started out the night by playing some of that cool Cali style guit...I met a few new people....saw some great friends...and got to play music!! I loved it!

On Sat. we headed to Newton and got in a round of golf with the boys...(thanks Bobby C.!) We stayed clear of most of the rain...and had a great time playing the block party!! Untill it did start sprinkling a bit...so Brando and B and company packed up the stuff...and I just went straight up acoustic with the folks that were there...thanks for helping me sing guys!! One of my favorite memories of the night was my friend Andy...who was yelling at the moon at the top of his lungs..."Hey moon...come on...meet me half way!! Lets share a drink!! Bring some of your friends (stars)...Meet me half way...come on...lets go!!" Epic convo! We all ended up downstairs watching a lil Forest Gump.....to be honest I sorta felt like that scene in Tin Cup...in the trailor when all of the friends were together...drunk and passing out!! It was a great feeling...to see everyone together again! Good times. Thanks everyone!

hey hey....So lastnight go a little crazy!! My buddy and I started out the night going out in the boat to go see some great jazz music...which was everything I expected...During that show I had a few phone calls from people here in Okoboji....so during intermition I checked voicemail...and it turned out Brian Leighton...lead singer of GB Leighton was doing an acoustic set at someones patio overlooking the lake.......so YEP...had to go see that which was really cool. Then it was off to Captains to see them perform...it was really a great Boji evening...

So last Friday was a bit of a cluster with the flooding and stuff in Cedar Falls...So the show at the Hub ended up getting cancelled...but Marcus was cool enough to get a filler spot at the OP on the Hill. That was really a great time...

Then Sat. it was off to Waucanda...which was just north of Chicago....need I remind any of you...my van...(the tootsie roll)...does not have air!! So a 4 and half hour trip feels like 7 hours! Everyone at Lindy's Landing was really great. And Chad and his family were wonderful to Brando, B and I. They were gracious enough to let me shower there... Unfortunately, I had a miss handle with my razor...and cut my nipple...I know this sounds strange..but just go with me here! so...forgetting I cut myself...I go ahead and throw on my white v neck (big surprise!) and I had what I call nipple spotting...haha...anyway...it stopped soon after!! Thanks also to the Styx family for making it out....they were seriously a great crowd and I enjoyed meeting them...I so greatly appreciated that entire experience!!

My buddy Andy also came down from Michigan which is always a treat!!...sorry I didn't play "Harpers Ferry!"

I' excited for this weekends shows cuz my friend from cali...Coe D C.....is coming home and playin some tunes!! We play at Ak's downtown this Friday...

Take care...

Hello!
So I just wanted to touch on what happened at my show on Friday at Ak's. Things were going along pretty well...and then I just reached a point...that I just couldn't really take playing...or hearing requests for anymore covers...I know that I normally don't have a problem doing them...but at times I feel like a jukebox...and that's not somthing I aspire to be....But it was my fault to go about it in the matter that I did. I didn't really need to spout off that way...and if I pissed some of you off...then I am sorry.....Hopefully you will come back to Ak's in just over a week (When Cody C. will be opening)... and we can try it again!! Just to let some of you know though...I may be changing up some of the routine with a lot new originals and covers in the next few months....i hope you're as ready as I am!!

thanks.

Heyyyyo...
So Thursday midmorning I got a call from the Hub in C.F. saying that Mike from the Nadas was sick and they wanted me to fill in. So that was cool...(Thanks Marcus!) I had a lot of fun for that show. I was really excited to hear that a couple of friends from Ames were coming....Vickroy and Robbles....Thanks guys...although, I'm not sure Vickroy remembers any of it!! haha...loveya bud.

So Friday I had to swing back up through Boji to pick up B. and Brando so we could head to Montevideo, MN. So we showed up within an hour of when we were to start...but everything was going well.....then things started getting freaky!! I will never forget the image of a girl on stage on her knees...biting Brando's shirt...while he's still playing!! Well she got kicked out...but that was pretty funny!!

Saturday we headed down to a great grad party in Sioux Falls, SD. It was the Jake Ness Freedom Festival. It was great...We got to listen to Adam and Jake...then Joey Ryan...then we played. I really enjoyed the whole night...Thanks to everyone at the Party for making that night so fun!!

One of the best images though...I think I've ever seen...happened at about 2:00 in the morning. Me and Brando and some other people were outside of this house and we see someone coming down the road...and it doesn't look very balanced. So across the road this dude falls....and I'm thinking...oh shit...we prly should stop chuckling and really go see if he's ok...on the way over to this person...Brando says, "dude I think that's fuckin Vickroy." I'm like..."no way..." sure enough...Vickroy pops up...doesn't say much of anything...just carries the bike over to the house. He's got blots of blood on his shirt...but he seems totally fine!! All of a sudden Fargo comes out of no where and just all chipper says..."hey guys what's goin on?" Come to find out Vickroy had the bike that was all fucked up and must have fallen several times before he arrived in front of where we where!! haha...maybe it doesn't seem funny now...as you read this...but holy shit....I'll never forget that one!!

Sunday....my van died....but I think we revived it!!
Peace out...

Hey! I'm really excited for the show tonight in Okoboji. I'm hoping the weather will hang on for us. So we had a really fun weekend getting my brother married! I was the best man....and gave a pretty random speech..but I think it went ok!! I sang "the rose" at the ceremony....(Which B. Moore apparently recorded)....and sang them a song I wrote at the reception. Me and B Moore ended up playing some later on in the night...and that was a blast!

Unfortunately our walk to Perkins....almost a mile away was cut short by a moment of good judgement.....hahaha

Congrats Brotha!!
