i sang this song at a gathering a couple of weeks ago.  one attendant, unfamiliar with my particular brand of humor and not paying close enough attention, was quite shocked.  he didn't understand that the song is completely sarcastic.  to avoid instances of undue online duress, i offer the following:

i am tired of hearing humans try to justify aggression.

imagine this...you are a soldier listening wide eyed to your commanding officer bark orders that when you finish the main objective of slaughtering all adult "extrensics" in the area, your mission of genocide will not be complete until you do "clean-up" and make sure you find the hiding places of even the smallest children and sling them by their feet into the nearest stone wall.  sounds like a modern, albeit dark action/war novel, huh?  it's what was documented in one of the world's oldest "holy" scriptures.

the army carrying out these atrocities?  they were the "good guys" according to this book, because their "god" had told them to go on this neighborhood ethnic cleanse.  for ages, people...umm, let's be honest, men...have used war as a way to garner power.  whether they get rich selling armaments to both sides of a conflict (DuPont family - amerikan revolution and civil war), or they make a fortune rebuilding decimated infrastructures, these men have noted that one ploy to get an army together is to make sure the working class people of any given city/state/region/nation are aware of how "different" they are than their neighbors ("and did you hear, they worship a giant vulva!")  the ancients did it, the medievals did it, corporate power structure does it, televangelistas and imams do it...and i'm sick of it!  if your god needs you to do his bidding, then your god is feckless! so why do you worship "him"?

sorry to have to inform you..."god" did not tell you to hurt anyone or anything.  according to your own scriptures, you are only human and "god" knows you are flawed, so you cannot pass any "test".  you cannot do anything for "god" if "he" is all powerful, so stop trying to pass yourself off as righteous.  you're just afraid and/or frustrated that you're not going to easily get a piece of the pie...it all comes down to materialism and laziness.  if it were anything other than that, you would be working for your neighbors, but because that's too hard, you want to use whatever technology you posses for destructive purposes and imbue your god with your own anger!

you are not special.  you are not chosen.  we are all the same.  in fact we are all parts of one thing.  stop believing men who tell you that "god" will reward you in the afterlife.  it should be a big red flag to you when someone starts talking to you about how your death, as opposed to your life, will benefit your neighbors!

AND - god would never tell soldiers to kill children, because she knows that when men kill children, they are forever lost to her...the children and the men.
