Ho ho ho! (I couldn't resist).
Here we are in the end of 2009 and it really makes me think we did this last year go.
I have had a great fall, and I really enjoyed working on the upcoming Nevermore record. Working alongside Jeff Loomis was an amazing experience and I can truly say that he most likely is one (if not) the best metal guitar players in the business. The songs on the new Nevermore record should have something for every Nevermore fan. It has some of the most extreme stuff they have ever done, and also some of the most beautiful atmospheric stuff they have ever done.
I am very honored to have worked with these guys and there is no doubt in my mind that this record will not be another milestone.
I also did get the chance to work along side some great people from Berri, ON (I hope I spelled that correctly). The bands name is Remain and they have some pretty kickass stuff, and as I say it beer drinking friendly tunes.
We spent about 5 weeks in the Carolinas too, where we tracked majority of the record.
I have since the completion of their record, started writing new stuff for SOILWORKs next upcoming record. The material is shaping up quite well, and I am very happy with the direction that we have chosen to take on this record. The material is a lot more technical than before, but still with the catchy elements of our previous works.
I will be handling the production part of the record, again outside of Lake Norman in the Carolinas. And we start recording drums in Asheville, NC at a studio called Echo Mountain. I will work alongside with Jens Bogren for the drums, and then I will fly to Sweden to participate with the mix in Örebro, again with Jens Bogren.
Next year will be a busy year, and I am already taking on more productions between soilworks schedule, so that will be fun.
I will try and post periodic updates during the Soilwork recording process, so people can keep track of whats going on.
Until then I wish you all a Happy Holidays and a great new year!
Sincerely Peter

Heyheyhey!
Well so I guess its no secret that I have been producing the next Nevermore record. As I'm sitting here sipping on some morning coffee, I can still hear the riffs from our 14 hours session we had yesterday.
I think that this record is some of the best material Nevermore has ever written, and I am proud to be a part of it.
We are chugging along with guitars (literally ha ha), and the tone is great. Jeff is without a doubt the best all round guitar player I have ever heard (and I have heard a few).
We decided to track majority of the record in a house with an amazing view over North Carolinas Lake Norman, which gives us all a great sense of relaxation.
The drums where tracked in Robert Lang Studios, outside of Seattle and that studio has to have the most breathtaking view I have ever seen. I, like so many others before, did in fact see the ghost one night when I was working late. Very surreal indeed!
Here I am blabbering away again, well I guess that's it for now but I will check back in once we get a bit further into the process.
Until then!
Peter

Hey Everyone!
I hate to say that it has been almost 2 months since I checked my myspace account, and quite frankly I have just been to busy, and most of the time myspace now only gives me Spam.
I am glad that I did check in though, because I got to talk to some old friends, and I am grateful for all the kind words I receive about my music and what I do.
I recently became a father and it has been an indescribable experience that I cant explain to anyone, unless you are a parent yourself! Many sleepless nights and tons of diaper changes, but it is all worth it!
I have started to write some new tunes for the upcoming SOILWORK album, and all I can say is that it will be riff-a-licious. Tons of cool guitar stuff going on it and I cant wait for Dirk to go nuts on it and have Bjorn lay down some tasty lines on it.
I am happy to say that I have landed one of my biggest production gigs this fall, and I will announce it once I get the OK from the label. The label has rented a house on Lake Norman (outside Charlotte) where I will set up my studio for the duration and track in probably the most inspiring atmosphere humanly possible. I am also going to work with Canadian metalers Remain, which I'm looking forward to.
It looks like I will spend most of the fall and early winter in the studio, but I still have a few open spots for the ones who might want it.
Thats all for now, but hopefully it wont take 6months until my next update!
Rock on Peter

Current mood: busy
So much has happened since my last update.
I've been touring with SOILWORK in Europe for the last 5 weeks alongside with some great people, and I've had a blast on stage with the guys in SOILWORK.
SOILWORK sounds tighter and better than ever before and the chemestry in the band is amazing. I cant wait to embark on the US tour now in the end of January to show everyone that the band is still on fire.
Me and Sylvain recently joined the ESP family after being a part of the Caparison company for nearly 7 years. There is no grudge between Caparison and I, but I felt like I needed to try something new and ESP was the first choice for me after Caparison.
There are some other endorsements I am working on and one that I am very very pleased to announce if the fact that we also are exclusive artists of ENGL apmplifiers. I have used ENGL on may albums, but was never a 100% convinced until I tried a new amp on the European tour. These amps sounds HUGE and have so much versatility so you really only need that and nothing else.
SOILWORK is also proud to announce that we will work alongside with the danish company TC Electronics (which are top of the line stuff) and we will be using their products both on tour and in the studio for the future.
As far as production goes I have been forced to turn down jobs because of the hectic schedule of SOILWORK, but I will start taking inquiries again now in 2009 and look forward to getting back into the studio and tweak those knobs again he he!!!!
Anyhow, 2009 looks like its going to be one hell of a year and I wish all you boyz and gals a very happy holiday and hope to see the ones in US and Canada on the road in early 2009.
Sincerely Peter Wichers

Hey there everyone!
I guess by this time most of you have seen that I have returned to SOILWORK. I understand from a lot of people that there is a question whether I will move back to Sweden or not , and I just wanted to inform people that I have no plans to return to Sweden. I will most likely spend more time there writing and rehearsing, but I will remain in Nashville with my family and keep on producing and tracking here just as before.
I am very much looking forward to seeing all you great people/fans again. Make sure you guys check out the tour dates on either soilwork.org or myspace/soilwork for more information.
Until Then Peter

I need to clear some confusion regarding the new song on my page.
The song UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN is not a song of mine.
It is a sample of the latest production that I did with a Nashville band named Mannah.
I am back in writing mode and am going to start tracking some of my own stuff soon, and I will keep posting news about it on mypage as soon as I get closer to a finish.
Peace Peter

Hello there everyone!
I just came home from Philly after mixing the Mannah record and it turned out great. I will try and see if i can put up a clip from it on my page once we get it back from mastering.
I am currently taking 2 weeks of before starting another project in ATL which is a bit heavier than the one I did recently.
Fall is starting to get busy as well with a few cool projects, and I am starting to get back into writing mode again. It has been a while since I wrote stuff and I kind of missed it. The material is kind of different than what I usually do, but still very heavy and with some crazy hooks he he!!
Anyways, Until next time!
Peter

Hello everyone!
It has been some time since my last blog and I do apologize for that. Have been swamped in the studio helping out a band from Nashville (which is turning out great BTW).
I would like to extend a big "THANK YOU" to all the amazing feedback that I have received in regards to the Warrel Dane record. I am glad to see that you all enjoy it.
I will take a well deserved break for the summer, only to charge the batteries for the fall when I start some more cool projects.
There are plans for me to start writing for another "Secret thingy" which I am positive that you all will love. Nothing is set in stone yet so I cant mention anything else at this time!
Until then! Peter
