Peace,
its been awhile since most of you have heard from me or seen me. I have been working hard on my personal life (a couple tragedies and a couple miracles). I had a little boy and if you are truly into my music and understand my train of thought, that is a life altering experience. It teaches you quick to prioritize and to provide. Being myself I knew I had to blaze my own path in terms of how my son would be raised and what I needed to do to accomplish that (evaluating long vs. short term).
I have been also, working on family relationships. i think often times we get so caught up in our own daily task we forget the importance of keeping in touch with family. As a grown up I am starting to ease into this new level of communication and responsibility especially with my elders. Its bugged.
When coming back to NY after a long hiatus I did everything to hustle up paper but, I had to take a step back and also, focus on positioning myself so that I could provide on a much larger scale and to not be a hypocrite especially to my son and live my dreams. So, by gods grace I was asked to be apart of a non-profit called Art Start (

. You may have heard of it from a movie called "The HipHop Project (Backed by: Russell Simmons/Bruce Willis/Queen Latifah). Well, they inviited me in as a teaching artist to teach writing, recording, and production to at-risk youth. I love it. The crazy thing is that all this time I anticipated me helping them but, all ego aside the kids have showed me so much about (self confidence, free thinking, sensibility, technique, taking criticism and, they help me stay young with all their crazy ideas, antics, etc. they also have been so gracious as to provide me use of a studio that I essentially run and operate. I know I know crazy right?????
Well, about a month ago I was wild frustrated. Felt like I had all this potential and no where to go with it. Then all of a sudden I started piecing things together from studios to musicians to blogs to networking, to me playing out bangers in the studio with no real formal musical training. Its amazing what the possibilities are. The new music i am making is far and beyond anything you are used to hearing from me and I will be very proud to present the finished product to you.
And so, Now I am finished with The Secret, my new mixtape w/ DJ Static and Statik Selektah. It will be available any day now. I have also been doing new video blogs every week so check for them. the "The Plan" due out Spring 2010 if you pay attention you can catch some of the music in the blogs. Its absolutely incredible. I did like half of the production on the album and have yet surpassed myself again. I have been making the best music of my life to date and everyday it keeps getting better.
Oh yeah and to top it off when I was in Cali I found out that Chino XL was the newest member to my crew Rebel Armz. How fucking bananas is that????????
