I laughed so hard I cried, what else can you do?

Because death isn't just the escape of the soul, the cessation of function. It's also in the things that are impossible to change. It's the lessons of humility that life serves up slipping and swerving all over the place. The shady border town of what was, should have been and is. There are so many types of deaths,the death of a relationship , a perception, a way of living your life. We come equipped with extra lives just to get through this one now. For me this year was a deeply complicated one. I've gained and lost so much that I'm still hibernating and a bit dazed .

But I can still laugh, I'm healthy and I think I've finally learned some humility. I have become fearless after being shocked at the realization of our fragility. Throw us , we break, we bleed and can be harmed in irreparable ways through no fault of our own. I shook for several months after this realization, but then I decided to change my attitude. I could be fearful  or I could paint my bedroom blue.I went for the blue and let the people I  always loved and admired  know that I loved and admired them. The trick so far, is keeping that sense of ataraxia,shambhala, peace going . Old habits are hard to break, this is about as personal as I will ever get in this arena. I've pretty much let the poets and philosophers express for me.  And so;

Fernando Ullibarri had to travel unexpectedly this week so it is my pleasure to be working with Maurico Quiros

We will be performing tunes from the Great American Songbook and other straight ahead jazz standards.

For me this gig is heaven surrounded by books and singing doesn't get much better then that. Hope to see my fellow bibliophiles there lusting after the printed page and digging the music

Professional, world-renown vocalists Jus' Cynthia, Sandra Kaye and Diva Joan Cartwright work with a jazz quintet to rehearse their road show, WOMEN IN JAZZ ON TOUR. Students from Broward Schools are invited to fill the 300-seat auditorium at AARLCC, during two, one-hour rehearsal/workshops, where the 7-member ensemble will run through dialogue and music exploring the lives of 11 women who brought jazz and blues music to the forefront of American popular culture and around the world. The women they portray include Bessie Smith, Marylou Williams, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday

I am in the band on this one.
