..>..>..>| BRAHMA | | Nickname: Lil' Brah
Gender: Masculine Usage: Indian, Hindu Mythology Other Scripts: ??????? (Sanskrit) Pronounced: BRAH-mah [key] | Means "prayer" in Sanskrit. The Hindu god Brahma is the creator and director of the universe, the balance between the opposing forces of Vishnu and Shiva. He is often depicted with four heads and four arms.
My Puppy doesn't have four heads but conveniently has four arms, or legs as you may call them. He will probably cause me to pray quite a bit, but he has already brought me so much joy!
Hopefully you can come visit us!!

Yes, on October 5th I joined the pact of them that are tattooed.
Many have asked, "what is the meaning of it?"
There is reason (but not much rhyme) behind it all. I will try to keep it as short and sweet as possible.
It is a symbol of my life and how I choose to live it.
I am the center dynamite, surrounded by others, because this life was not meant to be lived alone.
It's what and how much you put into your life that determines the severity of the impact you will have on this world.
The atom is the most complex and powerful substance that we know of, and the very fundament of our very being. Therefore, it is what I chose to represent God. The atomic bomb is also the most powerful of explosions that we have experienced so far. I realize that it created heaps of devastation but it is my goal that one day I could have the maximum possible positive impact on the world around me, to the same magnitude or greater than the atomic bomb.
I chose to get it on my inner left wrist because I want it to be a visible reminder to me NOT to squander my life away and to make conscious decisions that push me toward obtaining my goal: keeping God and others at the crux all the while.
At the end of my life I want to burn out bright, not for me but for God. This life is not my own. It was graciously given to me. I want to make the most of it.
That's why it's so important that we depend on one another. I need you to help me remember my goals, to keep me in check, encourage, cry with, laugh with, move across the world with. I am here for you too. I sincerely need you and would be honored to be needed by you as well.

I know that i already posted this as a bulletin but I'm posting it here in my blog so that people that visit my myspace page that aren't on myspace can be up to date too. Thanks for caring. Thanks for praying!
I made a big decision this weekend.....
As of October, I will no longer be a Nanny. I will be working at the coffee shop, Ipsento, full time. The opportunity came up and I feel that this is what I'm supposed to be doing. No logic supports my decision, there will be a cut in pay and hours. Yet, I am still confident in this decision. I will be working four 10hour shifts so that means I will have three day weekends!
I don't have to completely sever my relationship with the family/kids I work for either. They have asked if I would still be available for special events and occasional evenings. I'm SO glad I don't have to say good-bye!

ok, so i've had some rough blows this week.
Monday: my housemate of six weeks left. leaving an empty house and a hole in my heart. i really do miss you amber 'bird' christine brady (abcb).
Tuesday: while attempting to cross the street in my neighborhood, i was hit by a vehicle. not injured. it really only hit my backpack as i was trying to avoid the collission. the blow to the backpack made me lose balance and i fell on my butt. smacked my shoulder on the rear bumper. my house keys (which i carry on my finger like brass nuckles) flew the rest of the way across the street. it sounds worse than it really was. not plesant nonetheless.
Wednesday:
i was a victim of purse-snatching while minding my own business in the Target parking lot. security responded. chicago police came. (they were pumped and frequently stated 'I really hope we catch this looser." just like in the movies) a report was made. assailant was not apprehended. if you see an approx. 5'8" dark male, wearing a white t-shirt and purple jogging pants, please ask him to return my belongings. this world is a better place because of you. again, we, the boy that i'm a nanny for and myself, escaped unscathed. (please do not try to call or text me, my phone was inside my purse along with my camera, credit cards, drivers license, etc.)
upon reaching my doorstep after a torrential day, i was not-so-plesantly greeted by a raccoon. if you have never seen one, you should, at the zoo. they are beautiful creatures. however, after my previous 24 hours of not plesantness i did not wish to be mauled by a raccoon. thankfully david wagner was there to be my hero and do a ritual dance that scared him away. no, memories of those moments will never leave me. david, you were my hero. thank you.
Today:
i had NO desire to wake up and face the day. I was afraid of the horrors set before me. as of 9:50pm. nothing worthy of note has happened. however, i have many blocks to walk to get to my home and my friend jeremy just handed me some mace..."just in case"
tell me tomorrow has come.......<><

So, tonight I will attend my first Major League Baseball game; Cubs vs. Rockies.
After gorging myself on hot dogs and crackerjacks I will try my hardest to sleep soundly because near dawn I will be headed off to Cornerstone Festival in Southern Illinois with my roommate Amanda. I have been looking forward to this for 9 months! That's right, since November, since before I knew I was moving to Chicago.
I am very much looking forward to not sleeping for the next week. Be sure to check my pictures upon my return. I assure you greatness.

Today we remember when Jesus was beaten beyond belief. He was humiliated while being battered and bruised. They nailed him to the cross without the slightest regret; listening to him cry, watching him bleed, and letting him die.
Today is Not a day of Celebration.
Today is a day to remember how he died on the cross for our sins. It is a day to remember that he decided to do it because of his unconditional love for us all. It is a day to thank God for allowing his only begotten son to literally die for our sins and endure pain we could never dream of. Thank God today everyone.
THANK YOU Jesus ... Thank you for dying so that I could be your child, your friend, that I could receive the chance to live a life of free will ... so that I may choose right from wrong on my own.
On this Holy day, think of what He has done for you.

Well, I finally made it to Chicago!!!!!
I've already had a slice of good ole pizza, taken a quick nap, visited my new appartment, made a down payment, and attended a prayer meeting for citichurch.
I'd say that's pretty good for the first day in the city.
Here is a pic of my new room mate Amanda in front of our new place....

By the way, yes, it's cold, but not as bad as I was expecting it to be.

Hello all! Yes, I'm here. I arrived in Dumaguete City at 2:30pm on Thursday, February 8th, Filipino time. (That's 12:30pm, Wednesday, February 7th, Las Vegas time) Leanna Kimball just happened to be on the same flight as me. We got to chat about her trip to Indonesia where she got to visit her brother Peter. Indonesia is beautiful!
Now I am here in Dumaguete. I got to go to CCTC as soon as I arrived. It's pretty much the same, I'll definitely need to take pictures of the new office set-ups. I had dinner at the Farrar's (I'll be staying here) and then I went straight to Calvary Chapel Dumaguete's midweek service. I was tired so I had to go stand at the back of the room! It was so great to get to see everyone again.
Right now, I'm siting in the Farrar's living room and nodding off to sleep every few seconds as I fight jet lag. But soon, I will go take a shower, go downtown and pick up my cellphone (it's being worked on so that I can use it here), and then I will meet up at a restaurant called Mamia's to say goodbye to Ate Clarita Singh. Ate Clar used to be the main secretary for CCTC. She will be moving to another island to be with her sons. I will miss her A LOT! I'm glad that I can be here to say good-bye. I will come back here to unpack some 'pasalubong' (gifts) for the youth group tonight.
As you read this, please be praying for strength for me, as this is my first day here and it's already jam packed.
This is all quite surreal to me and I can't believe I'm really here. God is SO good!!
Thanks for reading, keep in touch, reply, leave comments and subscribe so that you can know when I post a new update!

Hello my wonderful friends and family...........
I'm finishing my packing and heading to the airport in a few hours. I'll be in the Philippines in no time. Well, actually, after a stop in Canada and a FOURTEEN hour flight!
It's strange, today feels like any other day, I hardly believe that I'll be in the Philippines so soon. God is SO good. I can't thank Him enough for giving me this opportunity.
A very special thank you to all of you that came to my Chica-Go gathering at the Teepe's house. It was a special evening. I will treasure it forever.
Remember, I will be back in Vegas for one week before I head off to Chicago for good. If we haven't had time to chat yet, I hope to get to see you then!
All my love, Kristin <><

Hello!
This is my first official Chica-Go blog. Please leave me comments and suggestions, no complaints please.
I want to inform/remind you of the gathering on my behalf at Mike and Dana Teepe's home. It will be this Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 5:30pm.
This time is specially set aside for fellowship before I go and so I can explain in depth the things that God is doing in my heart and the vision I believe He has for me in the near future.
Many of you have asked me if you could bring a dish, it is not necessary but very much appreciated. I do ask that the dishes be finger friendly.
Message me if you need directions to the Teepe's home.
I hope to see you there!!!!
