Well, I finally found the download. I'm not sure what to think of the new Tool song. I think that it'll grow on me. It's kind of hard to listen with only one working headphone. So, the show is May 13th. Going to be awesome. Gotta get tickets first. That'll be fun, I'm sure. The album, 10,000 days, comes out May 2nd. There's a great splash on toolband.com

Happy St. Patrick's day! May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. The rain falls soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
And Happy Birthday Richardian "Red" Roque! Our wanna-be Irishman.

http://www.meditationiseasy.com/mCorner/techniques/perception_meditation_.htm I stumbled across this website through my beliefnet newsletter. While I have always somehow felt that this too shall pass, I had never read a story that so eloquently expressed this feeling. I have usually clung to this saying when times have been rough. But time knows no difference between good and bad. Time is. And for this saying to be true in the bad times, it must also be true in the good. That is a bit hard for me to accept. If this too is going to pass, it is not yours. The defeat was not yours, the victory is not yours. You are just a watcher. Everything passes by We don't own these moments. Good times may give way to more good times. Or they may give way to bad times. However, we continue the ride and steer our course. Knowing that whatever else awaits us, it too will pass. There were friends in past. They all have gone. There are friends today. They too will go. There will be new friends tomorrow. They too will go. There were enemies in past. They have gone. There may be enemy in present. They too will go. There will be new enemies tomorrow and......they too will go.

Expect trouble as an inevitable part of life, and when it comes, hold your head high. Look it squarely in the eye, and say, "I will be bigger than you. You cannot defeat me." -Ann Landers

lol...okay, so I finally caved and signed up for Napster. It's awesome. I love finding new music. And, there are no commercials, so I get streaming music all afternoon. Perfect for the long work days. Before today, who would have thought that there was a band called "Neutral Milk Hotel"? Pretty cool.

So, Dad's surgery went well. The doctors ended up doing a bit of "extra" stuff to increase the range of movement in his left wrist. I took him to the doctor's on Monday. I almost lost it. I've never seen my dad in so much pain before. I mean, he's on vicodin and something else to "boost" the effectiveness of vicodin and he's still in pain. His fingers were all black and blue, bruises. When the doctor took off his bandages, you could see the bruising on his hand and down his arm past his elbow. Oh, and when the doctor took of the bandages, the hand just swelled up. I thought it was going to burst! I've never seen a hand so plump in my entire life! And of course, the swelling cause him a lot of pain. It just kept getting bigger and bigger. Blech. That's a bout when I almost lost it. I absolutely have no stomach for watching people in pain. We made a rush appointment to go and have a splint made for it to put pressure on the hand and attempt to reduce the swelling. He's going to have a pretty long scar on the back of his hand. They cut from about three inches down from where the index finger starts, down to about four inches down from his wrist. He has a few screws in his wrist now to hold everything in place until it heals. Then, maybe the screws come out. The doctor said that they moved the tendons around, and that's where most of the pain is coming from. Either that or the fact that they removed a bone, ground it up, and put it somewhere else. So, now he starts rehab. At least the gals at the rehab place are nice. And they get his sense of humor. To give you an idea of his humor, he's taking pictures of his gash with the cell phone and sending them to his buddies. blech.
