What's up Chiba-friends! We've got some news for ya....

First of all, due to personal reasons Justin has returned to NY, and we want to wish him luck in his continuing endeavors. There's no bad blood or drama, it was a mutual and amicable split, and we wish him nothing but the best!!

For now, Filling in on the bass is Hal Berkstresser, a METAL bassist, but with a soft spot for 80's pop synth. I made that up. Like I said Hal's stint with us is temporary while he's in between touring, so we'll be auditioning bassists. Hit us up!!

Next is our video news...put simply, we here at Chiba-Ken will be releasing a new video every week! Some videos will be of us playing live, some will be edited videos, and some will be non-music related, just videos of Chiba-Ken being Chiba-Ken, and all the hilarity that ensues with it.

So send some comments our way and tell us what you'd like (or not like) to see. We already have some videos up, check out "Hate" and "Faster Tonight".

Oh, and did I mention...Episode 3 of Chiba-TV??

Today was amazing! Celina and our other friends from the Whisky hooked up Elias and myself with some VIP bracelets to watch Alice In Chains perform! They were amazing! The new singer was sick and Jerry Cantrell was amazing. One of the best parts about today though was the company with which we watched the show. I had the chance to meet and talk with Chino from the Deftones. I gave him our CD and chatted for a bit, he is one of the guys who inspired me to be a lead singer, and he was mad cool. John from System of a Down was also there. It was a great show and an amazing experience to hang around with these professionals!

We wanted to say a big thank you for those who came out to our first LA shows at The Whisky, and the Viper Room! So far we are loving it out here and you guys definitely rock!

To the new fans and friends we've made already, thank you for helping us get into the fold of the rock scene out here, it is greatly appreciated!!

We hope to make many more friends here and will be booking as many shows as they let us play to do so.

We're all the way over here on the west coast so we would like our friends and fans to send us any pics you have of you and your friends either with us, or at a show, or just hanging out...something so we can put more pics up on our fan pages and so we can look at them whenever we want to remember the good times we had!!!!

Actually it's been pretty easy to be human in LA since we got here.

Yup, the gang's all here. We've officially relocated. Got a townhouse in North Hollywod, a rehearsal studio in North Hollywood, and an apartment in West Hollywood.

Our first show on the west coast is booked at The Whisky on July 20th, we're psyched about that. And our new album Hard To Be Human is onsale EVERYWHERE...online that is, iTunes, eMusic, Rhapsody, our Myspace page...

Oh and I have some exciting news that I can't speak of at the time of this writing because it's not 100% locked down...yet. But when it is I will let you know right away and believe me...it's exciting.

We miss our East Coast fans, and we look forward to making new west coast fans, and I hope that our music can be enjoyed by fans coast to coast.

Hello Aurora!!! But seriously...

After a lot of blood, sweat, and tears we the members of Chiba-Ken have finished our new album entitled, "Hard To Be Human". Alright so there wasn't any blood and the tears were saline contact solution but I'm pretty sure that one of us broke a sweat at some point in the past 3 months.

Yes it took 3 months from the time we walked into Vu Du Studios in Long Island until yesterday when I received the mastered copy of our new album from Masterdisk in NYC.

We're all are very happy with the album and hope that you enjoy it as well. I've put 3 songs on MySpace for now, and we're just finishing up the artwork for the album so that we can get it on iTunes and other digital sites where you can download the entire album.

Of course you should come to our show at Mulcahy's in Wantagh Long Island on March 26th where you can pick up a hard copy of the album and see us perform the songs live.

We'd love to hear your feedback on these new songs. Turn it up and thanks for supporting Chiba-Ken!!

Whats up loyal Chiba-Headzzz??

        It feels like a long time since we've let you all know whats going on with us....  Regarding all your messages about shows, we are still recording our new album at vudu studios with Producers Mike Watts (As Tall As Lions, The Scenic, Hopesfall etc...) and Rich Liegey (The Smashup, Wheatus...).  We knew it would consume all of our lives so we wanted to take time off from playing shows to concentrate on our new material.  

        In other exciting news, Chiba-Ken has been voted 1 by all of you as the winner of the November Famecast Competition!!! (www.famecast.com)  For winning this competition we will be featured in the February  issue of SPIN  Magazine!!   Since all of you showed extreme support and dedication for us we will now have a chance in February '09 to win $20,000!!!  We will need quadruple the support + effort in feb and we trust you will give it to us and help us win Famecast Fenom!! 

      Our new Album drops January 2009 and it is going to POP POP POP!! Then we will get back to what we do best, ROCKING your world!! So start getting EXCITED NOW!  Leave us some love because sometimes even we in chiba-ken feel lonely....
