Current mood:  exhausted
Category: Music

I have something to say (It's not directed towards anyone in particular, so please don't even try to play that card).

I really wish people would STOP with the digital bull sh**.  I'm SICK of going to these music pages, thinking I'm about to AT LEAST hear a human being (I don't even fall into the ignorance of hoping for a decent voice anymore), only to hear a damn robot!

GIVE AUTO TUNE A FREAKIN REST.

I'll admit it--since we are, infact, human, we often fall into what can be called pitch imperfection, and our voices may need a little scoot in the right direction.  Everyone loves and appreciates a little reverb here, some gloss and shine there.  I do it too.  It makes you sound more professional and polished.

But when I can hear every crack and crinkle ironed out of your voice by way of digitalized liquid foundation??  It's a problem, ok?  Just because our idiotic industry made T-Pain the ambassador of auto tune and the like, it doesn't take away from the facts.

WHAT GOOD IS DROWNING YOURSELF IN AUTO TUNE IF YOU FALL FLAT ON YOUR FACE WHEN IT COMES TO SINGING LIVE???  Sure it sounds cool and futuristic on CD and whatnot but why make yourself look stupid on stage?  Why waste anyone's time by time asking them to go listen to your computerized nonsense when you know you couldn't hold your own live?  Yet the people who do have talent all around (dance, song, writing, vocal ability, etc.) can't even get their pinky toe in the door, while singing octagons around these people I'm talking about.

And I'm not even saying you have to have a voice like Aretha, Whitney or Beyonce.  However, if the talent isn't there--not even a little bit--then JUST STOP IT!!!  STOP STOP STOP.  You beauty queens (and kings) who think modeling automatically makes you elligable to be an R&B singer need to realize that we, the listeners see right through you...  We bump that when it happens to be on the radio, but we laugh at you during your concerts.  Even people who aren't musicians knows what's real.

It's like make up...If you wear so much that you aren't recognizable (and are maybe even unattractive) when you take it off, what's it really worth?  Where's the talent in that??

NOWHERE.

Thank you.  Just had to get that off my chest.  Have a beautiful day!

How long have you been singing?

I've been singing since I was about seven years old.  I began to write songs shortly after that, my first in the fourth grade.  I recorded my first song at age 15, and began recording more seriously at age 17.

Do you write your own songs?

Yes...every single one of them.

Are you signed?

No, not yet.

Can you play an instrument?

Yes, I play the piano by ear (no training).  Listen to "Those Things" on my page to hear me play!

What genre would you put your music in?

Most people consider me R&B, but I think I'm a little bit of everything.  The music on here is basically R&B, but leans a little to the "neo-soul" side.

What's up with the song "Ringtone"--why is it so different from your other music?

Ringtone is an R&B track with Hip-Hop flavor to it.  It definately stands out from the other music on the page, but I like it!  It was something different for me to try, and it came out nicely :)

What's your obsession with Babyface?

Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds is an AMAZING songwriter, and that's what I specialize in.  I love everything he's ever done for himself and other artists...  The way he writes music is simply undeniable.  He's my favorite songwriter/musician of all time!

When will you have more music up?

I'm working on that...patience!  lol ;)

What is your connection with Elevator Music?

I began working with Rashad of Elevator Music a few years ago.  As I said, I'm not signed to a record label, but Elevator Music is my main support and production outside of production by myself.

Anything else you want to know, just ask!!

Babyface.

I just really had to get that off my chest.
