Greetings! Here is the news. Dave Motion's video for Inside Out has been selected for the eighth Indie Music Video Festival. The festival is currently touring the world with stops in Los Angeles, New York, Vancouver and even our hometown of Oxford! For the full schedule please click on http://www.imvf.com/

In other news, we're still working on the follow up to Heart Is Black and are delighted to announce that Loz's pal and former Ride bandmate Mark Gardener is working on a mix of our new single California. We will let you know the release date as soon as we can.

Not much to report on the gigging front as we've been busy with a variety of projects but we are looking forward to playing the Halesworth Gig In The Park festival on August 8th.

In Jetsetter-related news, Bert and Fi's Welcome to Peepworld is gathering force. Between them they've amassed an amazing collection of 39 songs which would indicate they could soon be releasing a debut triple album! Stay tuned for more news there. Mark is also pleased to announce his new side project Chambers Of The Heart - an improvisational psychedelic noise band - is to make its debut live appearance next month. Keep your ears peeled for more about that. Ears peeled and eyes pinned back. Something like that.

More soon!

INTERNATIONAL JETSETTERS

HEADLINE GIG @ OXFORD O2 ACADEMY 3

ON TUES APRIL 28TH

TICKETS AVAILABLE FROM WWW.WEGOTTICKETS.COM OR DIRECTLY FROM THE BAND.

"Sleekly streamlined and propulsive with strong melodic elements amidst a churning, soaring roar. Methodical and soulful, precise yet heartfelt, grand and intimate." - Dream Magazine (USA, December 2008)

"a brooding Willard Grantish piece...menace and emotion...instantly memorable and powerful..." - Americana UK (December, 2008)

" energetic and yet so cool pop that's been a staple since, well, the Beatles......an impressive range...A most impressive set. I'll queue up for the full-length. - Aiding & Abetting (USA, Issue #303, December 2008)

... a fantastic five-song (plus alternate demo) debut from Oxford, U.K. vets...incorporating its elements into an exciting fuzzy pop that's as spirited as it is amazingly moody like threatening skies - THE BIG TAKEOVER (Fall 2008 Issue #63)

"There's something to be said for pacing when you're making art...starts with that simple guitar chugging...then it all kicks in... Awesome." - MUSIC FOR ROBOTS (November 2008)

" it's got the goods you'd expect from people who have played in JAMC and Ride...noise-pop as Yo La Tengo...motors down the highway wearing black sunglasses and a leather jacket." -Advance Copy (USA, October 2008)

"...sheets of bright noise...A Byrdsian groove...blissed out vocals...it's glorious stuff...a great introduction to the band" - Oxford Music Scene (UK, October, 2008)

"Heart is Black is a six song EP for the International Jetsetters debut. Most debut EPs are meant to be used to secure a record deal and often sound shaky and thin. This EP though is definitely a first class debut of a great album that will surely follow." - (music-reviewer.com)

"A swelling cacophony of cosmic beauty that pulses and throbs with a raw wantonness, whilst containing such power therein, that they could, quite possibly make distant stars implode." - (von-pip musical express)

"Their debut EP Heart is Black, dropped in the fall of last year and is a startling collection of guitar-based nuggets that crackle and blister" - (absolutepunk.net)

"A fantastic first release." - (pennyblackmusic.co.uk)

"gorgeous, tight and shimmering...sweet harmonies and sweeter power pop guitar riffs... extremely worthwhile and wonderful listen worth repeating." - (pop matters)

"From the narcotic fuzz of Spacemen 3 to the insistent jangle and drone of The Wedding Present, and lifted spaceward by singer Fi McFall's ethereal vocals, they're dark and dreamy but they rock like bastards." (Nightshift Magazine, May 2008)

Oxfordshire's Jack FM has selected us as one of the final 20 band in its Next Big Thing competition. This means we get to record a live session for them and possibly go onto a live face off with four other bands in some kind of inter-band mud-wrestling contest. Stay tuned for more about this as it comes in. In the meantime you can see the entire list of contenders here: http://www.jackfm.co.uk/nextbigthing/submissions.html

Oh and if someone can tell me how to hyperlink that I'd be grateful.

Toodle pip.

Just learned that the legendary Rodney Bingenheimer has been playing Inside Out on his Sunday night show on KROQ in LA. In fact last week he played it twice! So any of you out there in LA might want to consider emailing or calling the show to request it again. Go here and follow the links: http://www.kroq.com/ The song was aired on January 5th and 12th. Love from the IJs.

Dearly beloved,

It's 2009. How'd that happen?

Firstly, belated apologies to anybody who came to see us either at the Ben Jonson or the Carterton gigs. We had to cancel them both due to multiple illnesses, injuries and other stressful events all happening within a week of each other. Rest assured there will be new IJ activity in the near future. Keep tuning in here to find out what, where and when. And how.

For now, we have a new Youtube channel up and running created for us by our good friend the talented Mr Dave Motion. You can visit us on Youtube at http://uk.youtube.com/Ijetsetters where you can see our BRAND NEW video for My Redemption as well as the Inside Out video and various live performances from the last couple of years.

In other news, we started recording our next EP recently though it won't be out for a while yet as we're continuing to promote Heart Is Black both in the US and UK. The response has been good so far with the EP getting decent airplay on college radio, charting across the US at various stations and making a few 'Best of 2008' lists.

So please go to http://uk.youtube.com/Ijetsetters have a look at the My Redemption video, leave a comment (nothing rude please...) and we'll see you at a gig somewhere soon.

Love.

Please come along to the International Jetsetters Christmas Party at The Ben Jonson Pub, Weston on the Green, Oxfordshire on the evening of December 18th. To mark this special festive occasion we'll be doing a special festive number from the festive mists of festive time. It will be both special and festive though you will never in a million years guess the song.
