Hey!

As you see we gave the myspace page an overhaul and now it should function smoothly.

The songs from the split records with Hiro are now all up in the player for you to listen. We decided to remove the old songs since our sound have evolved so much since the early stuff and we just want to move forward.

Speaking of moving forward, we are really working hard on our new songs and are very much alive as a band. We won't do any shows for a while since the new amalthea-sound is what we will be focusing on and we will first and foremost play the songs which we are working on at the moment, and we want to have all new material for our next show.

We will  keep you updated on our progress and maybe give you a sneek-peek once we think that it's appropriate.

We are really looking forward to record our next album and tour so we can meet all of you again and again and again.

But until then...

Until we are ready to get out on the road again...

we just want to say that we appreciate all of you who has been a part of  our positive experience as a band. Love to you all, and see you soon!

Hey!

So I'm finally back writing on our myspace-blog after our tour. The went very well and we met a lot of awesome people and thx to all the venues and bands we played with! We had a great time and felt it all was a good experience, although we had some really rough times, Erik and I (Per) got sick for a few days and we still did the shows planned and slept a lot. On top of it all our car we were suppose to drive from Germany to Sweden in after the tour was over broke down. We had to stay another night, got a ride from me and Eriks older brother Jens, who drove all the way down to pick us up, although Jeremias who owned the car stayed behind until it was fixed and drove back in it. A big thanks to Jens for doing this so we could get home to our beds =)

But we had a blast on the tour, we had a RELEASEPARTY in france with Hiro. So our split with Hiro from france is out on a 12" LP and soon it will also be out on a digipak CD (as soon as the pressing plant delivers it to the labels).

Check out www.impuremuzik.com/ if you want to get a copy.

The sampler for the newly started german label Moment of Collapse is also out and has 6 bands on it contributing 2 songs each, one of the bands are us =). It's a 12" LP with amazing artwork and can soon be bought through Moment of Collapse's webshop, but go to their page and send them an email if you want the record now. www.momentofcollapse.com

So the new releases areout for your listening pleasure...

Maybe you want to know what AMALTHEA plans on doing next? Well as of yesterday the work on our new songs for a new album started, we are really excited and all I can say at this point is that it seems very promising and the new stuff will take the next step in evolving our sound. If you listen to our album and then listen to our 3 songs on the amalthea/hiro split on impure muzik you will probably figure out that we are always looking to renew ourselves and keeping our sound interesting and innovative.

That's all for now, greetings from everyone in AMALTHEA

Hey!

it has been a long time since we gave everybody who reads our blog on myspace an update, so I thought I would write a little something about what is going on.

First of all we have all been very busy with personal stuff besides AMALTHEA, school, work, moving to new cities, so we are a little spread out geographically but it's only a small obstacle =).

We haven't rehearsed that much lately because of everything else going on but we got around on changing that fact recently and it felt good and we are still very creative and in tune with each other so new songs are on the way, and we hope to record some of the new stuff sometime soon.

And speaking of recordings, we are on a split with Hiro, Mr Willis of Ohio and another band (to be announced) which will be released soon by some labels (don't remember which exactly atm) amongst them is Impure Muzik.
We are going to contribute two songs with a total running time of approximately 14 minutes.

We are also going to put two b-side songs off the "Decsion should be..."-album on a sampler for the newly started label MOMENT OF COLLAPSE by the wonderful Jens and Basti from ONLY FOR THE SAKE OF ACHING.

What's more...eh...we are planning on touring with ONLY FOR THE SAKE OF ACHING this summer and dates will be coming around as soon as they are confirmed..but it will be around the first two weeks of july 2008 and we will drive to locations around europe.

We also hope all of you had a nice time during the holidays and hope the new year has something good in store for all of us...

DON'T FORGET TO CHECK OUT OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AMALTHEA.CC

I'll get back to you when I have the time to write more =).

cheers!

Here is two different reviews of our new album, both are in swedish but I have translated them to english so everyon can enjoy them. /Per

First one is from the Morning Newspaper HALLANDSPOSTEN (who also did a interview with us which you can fin here, only in swedish though =( , http://www.hallandsposten.se/artikel.asp?oid=247189 )

HALLANDSPOSTEN
"Inte en tråkig sekund"

Poäng: 4/5 ("Mycket Bra")
Amalthea:
"Decision Should Be A Desert, Bright And Clear"
(Ape Must Not Kill Ape Records)

HARDCORE.

"Not one second of boredom"

Rating: 4/5 (Very Good)
Amalthea:
"Decisions should be a desert, bright and clear"
(Ape Must Not Kill Ape Records)

HARDCORE. The most enjoyable thing about reviewing records is when something I've never heard of falls in my lap, and it turns out to be exactly the thing I wanted to hear. Amalthea from Gislaved is one of those discoveries. They play a varied form of hardcore. The music isn't based on that much heavyness but rather on an atmosphere that builds up and transcends in long outbursts of wild and louder parts (or the other way around).
"Decisions..." feels more like one long track with a myriad of passages than a couple of songs on a record. But this doesn't stop "The king takes the queen" from stiking out as the highlight of the album. Nice raw vocals that yet expose something more than it's imperfection, a long chanting part, a crazy outburst...Not one second of boredom.
"Decisions..." is 38 eventful minutes och it feels like there is a lot to discover every time you listen it through.

Olof Hänel

The second one is from a swedish netzine called THE SOUND MAGAZINE (and you can find the review here, but in swedish, http://www.thesound.se/?view=viewArticle&cat=recension&ID=85 )

THE SOUND MAGAZINE??År: 2007?Bolag: Ape Must not Kill Ape?Betyg: 6/10??1. Intro?2. Econ?3. The King Takes the Queen?4. A Valued Landscape?5. Gslvd?6. Feather?7. A World Captured in Slow Motion?8. I'll See You Again Tomorrow??Spår att kolla in extra noga: Econ, I'll See You Again Tomorrow??Amalthea från Småland skriver att de spelar screamo/emo/post-rock, vilket är ?ganska korrekt. Kolla då ?in Amalthea!???THE SOUND MAGAZINE
?Year: 2007?Label: Ape Must Not Kill Ape?Rating: 6/10???1. Intro?2. Econ?3. The King Takes the Queen?4. A Valued Landscape?5. Gslvd?6. Feather?7. A World Captured in Slow Motion?8. I'll See You Again Tomorrow??Tracks to check out especially: Econ, I'll See You Again Tomorrow??Amalthea from Småland (a region in south of sweden) write that they play screamo/emo/post-rock, which is rather accurate. But here it's about real screamo and emo, not some wuss-screamo/emo by confused teenagers who sing about love and broken hearts.??There is no doubt that the (real) screamo/emo-scene is big in sweden among the "right crowd". Sadly enough the good bands don't get that much attention in the media, which may be a good thing, since the whole scene is pretty underground and would lose it's charm if it would become too commercial.??If you're tired of Funeral Dinner and City Of Caterpillar and want some something swedish, then check out AMALTHEA.
