Yo G's!

Just a quick note to let ppl know how to contact me until I get the net hooked up in my new place in Brisbane.

As of January 26th I'll be living in Brissy and we don't yet have the internet set up in my apartment so, except for a visit or 2 to a net cafe', I won't be available for enquiries and bookings, etc. over the net as I usually am.
I don't want to miss out on any offers, large or small, so if you need to contact me for any reason just give me a call on 0403 976 653.

I'm always in the mood for a chat

Stay rad...

Hey everyone,

Haven't blogged it up in a while. It's been crazy lately. With this being my final term of school and heaps of band work coming my way I've barely had enuff time to sneeze!!

So, whats new...
I got my nipple pierced on the holidays :D and I LOVE IT!! It pretty much rocks the socks!! Brings my piercing tally to 1 x cleavage bar, 1 x rib bar and 1 x nipple ring! WOOH!!
I'm now old enuff to go for my learners permit to learn how to drive and I'm taking the test on Thursday :) Exciting!
I had a bf... but he cheated on me... so I dumped him... which I think was kind of a good decision... coz he's a dickhead... so now I'm pathetically single as always... *sigh*
On the upside, I'm moving to Brisbane in the new year (YAY) so I'm sure there will be plenty of boys (and girls) there for me!! w00t!!
So excited about leaving home. You have no idea.
My olds wen't away for a week on the hols and I got a little crazy over the freedom. It was probably the best week of my life so far.
The highlight was deffinately the Repeat Offender after party I held at my place after their bundy gig. It was beyond awesome. So many awesome ppl! And OH the drunkeness!! Lol.
...That's pretty much all the news I can think of rite now...
Oh, my prom is in about 3 weeks :) Should be rad. I'll chuck a pic up on here and on my DA for shits and giggles so you can all see how dumb I'm gonna look in formal wear!! Hahahahaha!

Anyway, coz I've been so slack, I spent all afternoon uploading new photos for your viewing pleasure on my DeviantArt account. Check it out @ http://strangeflower.deviantart.com/

More stuff coming soon...

Sorry this journal has been so random... I'm a little hyper tonite...
Stay rad peeps...

ATTENTION: Female vocalist seeking band or accompanist
(In the Bundaberg area)

Hey people,
I've been vocally training for 9 years now and am most comfortable singing soul/jazz/contemporary, though I would like to try clean rock vocals and maybe some screaming. I have a very unique voice, although I am a tenor (very low for a girl) so don't expect some sweet pop sound! :-P
I'm interested in writing acoustic songs with a guitar accompanist. Or starting a band of any genre, as I enjoy all styles of music. I'd also be open to trying guest or backup vocals with a pre-established band.
Anyone interested, msg me over myspace or add/e-mail me: jilby_moth_murderer@hotmail.com
Thanx,
Jill.

Hey kids!

I thought it was time I update you on junk...

Well! TRO is moving along fabulously... we had both Loe and Emporium in the studio for interviews on Saturday, both of which went quite well. And it seems there are bands galore lining up to get their turn on the air!

At the moment, StrangeFlower Photography (ie. me) is so loaded with work that I just might explode! ...in a good way  ...So keep it coming!
Hmmm.... it concerns me that there is no tongue-pokie-outtie face in the blog emoticon choices!
Anyway, over the last couple of months I've photographed bands such as: Wish For Wings, The Daylight Curse, Loe, Emporium, Surface Simplicity, Repeat Offender, Shikkake, Thoric, The Amity Affliction, Forefold, Last Call and more!
Don't forget to check out  www.strangeflower.deviantart.com/  to check me out! ...*cough* I mean my work... check my work out...

I'm very excited about my immenent birthday and even immenent-er party!! Hoping they shall both be smashing successes. Also trying to convince Daddy to buy me a brand-spanking-new camera... I would buy it myself.... but that will take too long, and dad would owe me a birthday present! Lol.

Though, I am still pathetically single and alone.... Help?!

So yeah, thats about it i guess!

The gig last night was AWESOME! Many "fuckin' rads" to the bands that played... *bows*

Heart u all! (take that Robin!)

Current mood:  exhausted

Like OMGERZ!!!!

Parkway effing kicked ass!!!

The night kicked off with Jon Doe followed by Thoric. Thoric seem to be getting better and better everytime we see them!! Loe came on and it was absolutely amazing! The crowd went off and if we thought that THAT was big, we were mistaken! Parkway Drive are one of the best bands we've seen live and we both think that the band is so brilliant and the people in the band are so nice. Winston (vocals) always kept the crowd going and was continuously thanking us! How lovely was he!!! The band just had this brilliant vibe about them! Although the night was great, Jill and I had a mission - to interview someone for the rcm zines collum "a punters perspective". Jill chose this boy called Lachlan *mumble mumble* and we set him up and said we'd meet him outside in 2 mins. 45 mins later.... He's inside with the band >_<.... We almost died! So we interviewed someone else insted...a beautiful girl called "louize". Thank you Louize for being there!! As for Lachlan, we hope you had fun and sorry we couldnt catch you afterwards!

Emerly.

>> Just wanted to add, that that gig was AMAZING!!!!! <runs in circles> It was the first time I'd ever seen Loe play, EVER.... and after waiting all year to see them, and hearing nothing but glowing reviews, they did NOT dissappoint!!!!! Its official: I LOVE LOE!!

Also, I've decided I'm in love with Winston from Parkway Drive. As I offered to do some photography for the band, and informed him of The Rock Odyssey, he kept thanking me. He was so sincere, I hope he wasn't just humouring me!! He thanked me for the photos and for coming, etc. and wished me luck with my work and so on etc. etc....... He rocks my universe!!!

Emerly says: JUST MARRY HIM ALREADY JILL!

>> Haha, thanx Em ;-) Anyways, the night was terrific and despite almost being crushed as I was on the front row while Loe and Parkway played, I had an unbeatable time. I hope to see that level of musical genius in bundy again in the near future.

Jill.

Current mood:  sick

Ok, so Saturday night was the latest much anticipated AAA Shift.

Kicking off the evening, playing on and off as ppl arrived were Bundy ex-cover band Paradigm. I didn't get to hear much of their stuff but from what I did see, they appear to know what their doing. Hopefully they can work up to bigger and better things in the coming months.

Second in line came other Bundy band: Thoric. This was the first time I'd heard Thoric play, and man, did they deliver! Blowing the crowd away with heavy tracks showcasing a massive metal sound to be proud of.

Next to the stage was the ever-amazing Vilify, from Hervey Bay. Rocking it out isn't all there is to this lot, its mostly about putting on a show. On closer inspection you'll notice that each member has their own unique style of performing. From drummer Nick's quiet absortion in his instrument, to a drastic contrast in bass-guitarist Fish's music-driven transformation to a crazed-looking rock demon! Vilify left us with another breathe-taking performance to recover from.

The finale of the night was yet another awesome set by Battle of The Bands winners Emporium, of Hervey Bay. As their popularity grows steadily, there was a noticable increase in audience members. Playing yet another brilliant set, they brought the house down. In the front row I was crushed between dozens of moshers and guitarist Rob's strange dance on stage. Luckily, I survived though, Lol.

Ultimately it was an awesome night to remember. Good friends, good music and good times.

Stay tuned for the next review - Parkway Drive, supported by Loe, Thoric and Emporium on the 12th of November at Bundy High hall.
