Bonjour
A few of you may have noticed over the past couple of weeks that we've had a slightly different line-up, time to explain what is going on at 3FN towers...
We're sorry to say that Sam and ourselves have parted company after spending around two years drumming in the band. Sam recently took on new work commitments and is persuing that, as well as drumming in a brand new jazz funk beats combo. It has a hammond organ and everything!
Ourselves and Sam are still good mates and we would like to wish Sam all the best and thank him for the past two years, there have been some real highlights.
But now to the future of the band...
We are of course carrying on and we're happy to announce that Kane Waterfield will be beating the four skins for us on a permanant basis. Kane has settled in really well and we've been writing a lot of new material so expect some recording to be done over the next couple of weeks.
Hope to see you at a gig soon
Asta la vista.

Here is a few words about our set at The Junction in York on 22nd May. "Finally there was the headline act ‘3 Foot Ninja’. What can I say? How about another ‘what if’? What if punk and power pop were in fact conjoined twins? That barely does them justice but goes someway to describing there rich, eclectic and truly marvellous sound. They have real energy, very loud but also very skilled musically. I had heard of them but never actually heard them until this gig and boy am I glad I saw them. I will definitely go and see them again. They included two incredible cover versions in their set. Firstly Dizzee Rascal’s “Dance Wiv Me” and they finished with an awesome (and regular readers will know that I use that word very sparingly) cover of the Prodigy’s “Breathe”. My advice is gather up all of your X Factor shite and burn it, then replace it with whatever you can get by 3 Foot Ninja!" Full review of the night is at: http://justwilliam1959.wordpress.com:80/2009/05/25/charity-gig-the-junction-york-friday-22nd-may-2009/Come to gigs! 3FN x

Rob Nichols from the Evening Gazette + Fly Me To The Moon fanzine very kindly wrote this about the Uncle Alberts gig with The Airborne Toxic Event:
"Uncle Alberts was absolutely heaving when I stepped in last Friday. The latest Stateside sensation were over 5000 miles from home and knocking everyone for dead. But first before Airborne Toxic Event 3 Foot Ninja. Sorry I was on the radio and missed out on The Secret Invasion, I hope to catch them soon.
I had not seen 3 Foot Ninja for maybe a couple of years and they have come on an absolute storm. Hammering out their guitar-fuelled indie punk the 3-piece from the heart of the North Yorks Moors were sensational. Real dynamic stage presence and what a finale, after a set of their own high octane material they laid waste to The Prodigy with all the teenage angst in Japan."

Here is what the Musicians Union magazine "Musician" have to say about us:"Already veterans of 100+ gigs, teen rock sensations 3 Foot Ninja consists of brothers Jordan (guitar) and Joseph Bell (bass) plus drummer Sam Power, who supply blinding songs of rage, determination and power. With traces of the Doors and the MC5 plus British elements of the Damned and the Doctors of Madness, this outfit kicks down the door and comes marching through, taking no prisoners.
Sixteen's Legal stamps out the year zero philosphy at the heart of the band's impact, and it's clear why the trio's music has had over 30,000 plays from their MySpace site. Catchy, fast and memorable. On their way to the top."

Current mood:reviewed
Got reviewed in the latest Talk Magazine! Here is what they said aboooout us.
(We're not from Whitby though!!) haha
This Whitby three-piece are a solid entity to say the least, opener 'Sixteen's Legal' is the standout here and takes on board influences ranging from The Offspring to The Clash. It is both anthemic and catchy and will appeal to fans of rock music with substance. 'Take Hold of the Feeling' is a slightly darker affair despite the misleading title, vocalist Bell sounds like Jim Morrison would if he were backed by The Alkaline Trio. In 'Cardboard Cutouts' the ninjas have created the kind of spiky punk powerhouse that rivals any material bands like The Automatic can produce in terms of impact. It's raw and you won't be able to get it out of your head. 'Suicidal Valentine' continues in the same vein, and though it's similar to the earlier works in terms of hard hitting style and the furious tempo, it still beats the hell out of anything the likes of Baby Shambles will do. Final tune 'Push Yourself' and its chorus will have you jumping around with the band as they impress you with their trademark performances. It's a typical Northern tune and presents the band's pride and equally, their drive to succeed.
While 3 Foot Ninja do have a tendency to stick to the same formula with each song, nobody can deny that these lads have created a collection of songs meant for sweaty clubs and big festival gigs, but with that, they have seamlessly managed to keep a commercial appeal that will see them soar beyond those limits.

Ayup!
We’ve just returned from playing a couple of shows with The Subways on their current UK tour.
First stop was in Leeds at The Cockpit. After quite a hasty sound check we were ready for our first show in Leeds. It was fair to say when we struck up our opening tune the room was basically empty... then 30 seconds later filled up! We really enjoyed playing for you, and it was nice to see some familiar faces in the audience. We hope we’ll return to Leeds again soon…
Cage The Elephant followed us, it was their last show on the tour and were brilliant! Top bunch of lads as well, make sure you check them out on their headline UK tour.
Next day we set out for sunny Manchester. And it really was sunny! Slightly nippy but sunny, no rain! Great stuff. We had fun carting our gear into the Academy. Thank god for the lift! We’d like to say thanks to the nice chap Junior from Johnny Foreigner for the use of his drum kit. After our sound check we had about 15 minutes to relax before we were on-stage.
Unlike Leeds there was a healthy crowd BEFORE we started to play, and it’s deffo fair to say you were all up for it! There was a really good atmosphere in the room, which made us enjoy playing for you even more. There was even less space on stage than there was at Leeds but that was cool, well it was quite hot actually, but it made the gig really intimate and it was almost as thought at times we played the show in the crowd rather than on the stage! Cheers to our posse of hardcore fans that made the trip through a blizzard to see us as well!
Hope to be back again in Manchester soon cos you rawwwked.
Thanks to The Subways who kindly asked us to play with them. They made us feel most welcome and were a top bunch.
Cheers!
