Burning Down Vegas
This Woolton Hill gig, which was organised by some of Corpses For Autumn, had all the up and coming local bands for its most recent event, and the fans pored in!
The first band on (surprisingly) was Corpses For Autumn. The local bands that are from Woolton Hill were in time and gave good crowd involvement. The vocals were muffled and know where near loud enough but despite this the crowd seemed to enjoy them and gave a loud applause at the end of their set.
The next band on was Crowhurst. Being one of the scariest bands of the night they didn't go down too well with the crowd as I don't think the crowd were expecting such anger from the singer! He jumped into the crowd several times and pushed some of the crowd, I think to start a mosh pit, and eventually got one going. They were in time and got a good applause from the crowd.
The next, and most well known, band of the night was Shotgun. The crowd moved forward to the front of the stage as soon as the first note came through the amps and started dancing to the bands well known songs like "I Want You", "Chelsea Dagger" by The Fratellis and "Jazzy Tip". The played a couple of new songs and were very involved with the crowd. Easily the best band of the night and got the biggest crowd applause.
The second to last band of the night was Wishlist. Looking like the youngest band of the evening they had the most energy. They played covers of the "Immigrant Song" by Led Zepplin and "The Trooper" by Iron Maiden which the crowd seemed to love. The crowd were once again at the front cheering them on and the band got involved with the fans a lot.
Burning Down Vegas, the final band of the evening (whose tour starts on the 9th of February at the Tap and Spile in Newbury) were the heaviest band of the night. The band were in time and got the mosh pits going again. They played two new songs and the crowd seemed to love them.
Despite the fire alarm going off and everyone being made to go outside for five minutes the gig was a good night for everyone and they all seemed to enjoy it, and hopefully the guys from Corpses For Autumn will organise another one soon.
