I admit.  We are probably the lousiest updaters ever. I've found that blogging in my opinion is a very different artform than making noises. Once again we have had a long period of working on other projects, amongst them a series truly interesting arrangement and preproductionsessions for an upcoming country album.
So, although our intentions are the best, it is with little hope of any more posts this year we take the opportunity to wish you all:

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

It's hard to believe that May and June came and passed so quick. In my mind it's still April and summer is yet to come. I guess thats what happens when you get  absorbed into creatve arts.
Mixing of the HTTA "revisited" album is in its final stages and some audio will be posted here as soon as the mastering is approved of .

Until then we want to share a short movie clip filmed ten years ago at the 1998 Mönsterås Blues Festival. Playing drums on this occasion was Jocke Wahlström, a good friend and a great drummer.

Info about upcoming live gigs will be posted at the Farmers Blues Band official website www.farmersbluesband.com. Here you will also find some info about the band together with some old and new pictures. Welcome!

Until next time.......

Sometimes it's hard to find the right inspiration... Not this time. While working hard on the HTTA mixes, a ton of creativity suddenly struck the band. Anders composed and recorded some wonderful new guitar tracks which in turn changed some of the songs in a most pleasant direction. This experience together with the impact of new vocal tracks, sung by singer, guitarist and true bluesman Ola Engström has made us all redefine this project a little. The next two weeks will all be about updated arrangments as we all feel that the HTTA album should appear at its best before we leave it and start recording some totally new material.

I really would have liked to have the album out again by now, for your listening and dancing pleasure, but I am certain that the results of the upcoming sessions will make it worth waiting for - yet a little while.

So, the holidays are over. No more sleeping late, eating too much and walking around the house Ozzy-style.
All of the tracks are imported into the musicbox, and I miss the 2" taperecorder already. But now it's 2008, folks! I can't recall a specific date making any difference since the 70s all of a sudden turned into the 80s but 2008 has a certain swing to it, don't you think?
Anyway...mixing the material has started and although I miss the big reels of tape, it is obvious that recording equipment and methods has improved since we laid the first tracks. Most of the takes are still in very good shape and a some really sound better than I remebered. Still some additional overdubs and edits are going to be made before the final rerelease and hopefully this will happen by the end of january.
Please stay tuned...

Trouble Is...

"I've got a shack and a woman and a dog"

These were the first lyrics I ever heard Anders Lindstrand (composer/author/guitarist) sing. I think it was one of the moments in a show where the houseband may do one or two originals while the artist walks off for a short break. I can't recall exactly where or when but after the birth of Farmers Blues Band a couple of years later the song stayed on the repertoire for time to come.

Now when the 2 inch masters from the "Hotter" album are finally converted to digital and ready for the mixing and editing process to start over, a lot of memories comes back. Things were different then...  more obvious than ever when listening to the album track by track...other pains and other worries...
