Mr Branson, Please Don't Take My Broadband Too!

Tuesday: Four eggs and toast
spread throughout the day.
Must get to the supermarket;
Basics all the way!

Squeezed the last out of the toothpaste
from a split and ancient tube.
It's dried up and like rubber
but it's still okay to use.

The bank just charged me seventy quid
for bouncing a single debit.
So better go turn down the hob;
we're on emergency credit.

But now then on the plus side,
I'm getting pretty thin.
We'll have a change.
Have beans today

BUT ONLY HALF A TIN!

To All you lovely beautiful people

On Thursday 28th of Feb myself and my collaborator Ant (Just the Jam@ Lock 17) are putting on another Lock Stock Arts and music extravaganza in the Jongleurs/Dingwalls building @ Camden Lock..

I have put it to him, and he agrees that we should turn it round somehow to help those less fortunate whose homes and business are on the other side of Camden High Street.

His venue escaped, although we have to wait for the structural engineers to give the nod due to the intense heat produced by the fire. Hopefully they'll be back in tomorrow, but for now there will be no Jam at Lock 17 tonight.

The Lock Stock event on the 28th will have full bands in Dingwalls, acoustic acts upstairs and Dj's in the canalside, with art exhibited around the venue.  The flyer for the first one which we ran in November is on my main profile page and therre is a direct link below.

Any artists, musicians, performance artists, etc who want to get involved please message me or ring me - my number is on my profile. We are gonna bang out the details over the next couple of days, and then set up a facebook event

So get your skates on and get involved. And let's make lots of money for those affected by the fire.

Big Love

Catharsis and The Unlikely Muse

You were there in my thoughts even before we had met,

and now you're the one I can never forget.

Always I knew it, right from the start

that this day would come; we'd be torn apart.

We were always the same - you were a mirror of me.

But the glass is now blank where reflection should be.

Though you know that I love you but can only jest,

I believe you feel more than you do for the rest.

My pulsating heart, that never was whole,

was torn from my body removing my soul.

This parting gift that you gave to me -

the gaping void where you used to be.

In my life now are only the music and art -

reversed representing the head and the heart.

And in the raging battle between these two

the bad choice is music, the one that is you.

But now I know music can never be wrong,

As there in your heart's where I'll always belong.

EF - 7th Jan '08

As I mentioned earlier this is a departure from my usual poetry.

I think the red wine brings out the angsty prose (as in my personal profile blog - "We have no stars") and the spirit and mixer brings out verse - strange.

You know who you are and, for the record, I still think you're a bloody wanker!!  Good luck babe, and stay safe!

This is my favourite stone roses song - if you can pick a favourite from one of the greatest bands of all time!

They just played it on XFM so I'm just informing you of the words to this wonderful song!!

Until sally I was never happy
I needed so much more
Rain clouds oh they used to chase me
Down they would pour
Join my tears
Allay my fears
Sent to me from heaven
Sally cinnamon
You are my world

I pop pop pop blow blow bubble gum
You taste of cherryade
There is something here you must show me
From what you are made
Sugar and spice
And all things nice

Sent to me from heaven
Sally cinnamon
You are my world

Your eyes are gazing back from
Every little piece of glass
You seem to smile from every place
Sally cinnamon
You are my world

Then I put the letter back in
The place where it was found
Its a pocket in a jacket
On a train in town

Sent to her from heaven
Sally cinnamon
Your her world

Oh YES!

A poem to call your own

Your voice for me like an earthquake
Loud and strong and unperturbed
30 decibels or more, to ensure your point is made
However loud your voice maybe, you will not always be heard
At times like this just call me up, and I will make you smile
Thanking you for letting me stay a while

And when you hang up on the phone
Please remember you're never alone
A second will be all it takes,
Ill come rushing to your side and catch you by surprise
Ill grab you from the sadness
And look into your eyes
Ill tell you it will be alright, that everything will be fine
Ill put a smile back on your face, just as you have done mine.

So when I am gone and almost forgot
Come and see me in my squat
Ill cook and clean and laugh and joke,
With me and my friends and some random bloke
No TV only the guitar, the one true entrance to my heart
Not through my mouth or through my eyes
My ears are the way inside.
Play me a song and you will see
How much better you have made me.

To Esther
Thank you so much for allowing me into your life, for this I am most grateful. You are with me always as my shadow or reflection. Every time I look around or at my reflection I will see you radiant face looking at me. I will know everything will turn out right.
Thank you so much
Love always
Chris

We Have No Stars

I gazed tonight at the crescent moon:
Beautiful, yet incomplete
Mars and Venus by my side.
We have no stars
Only those intertwined Gods of Love and War
Sitting by me in my London, Lonely.

Now I see them, my friends,
One by one shining in the darkness.
There once was one, Bright but now exinguished;
Gone to play with Mars, Where she belongs

But Venus is still with me, whispering,
"There is not enough love!
That in your heart must be missing from another;
So let her play with Mars, where she belongs."

We are lonely, we have no stars.
But those that remain are brighter,
Stronger now through that absence.
So let her play with Mars;
Let her stay with Mars.
Venus and the moon, we need her no more.
