Gypsy Angel
Don't you love the Gypsy Angel,
When She flies away from you.
Don't you love the Gypsy Angel,
When She flies away from you.
And you would fly right after Her,
But there's nothing you can do.
When my Gypsy Angel
Waves Her wing,
She starts the trees to rock,
And starts the rocks to sing,
Gypsy Angel Gypsy Angel,
Please fly by me one more time.
I love you Gypsy Angel,
Throw this drowning man a line.
Stay The Way You Are
No need to tell me as you go,
Those things that I don't need to know.
No need to stop and tell me why.
I'm glad to see this caged bird fly.
Though we'll never meet again,
I ask this favor as your friend,
Stay the way you are,
Be the one you are.
So the rain falls from the sky,
Can't tell you when can't tell you why,
That same water strikes the shore,
So it shall forevermore.
Still this heart remains the same,
And lives beyond all praise or shame.
Stay the way you are,
Be the one you are.

Dreamers
Moonlight on the water
Soft like a kiss,
Waking or dreaming,
I felt nothing like this.
Your eyes tell the story
This heart longs to hear,
To live in the glory
We must cast away fear.
Just like dreamers do,
I fall in love with you,
Just like dreamers do.
Call me a dreamer
But my dreams are more real,
Than the plots of the schemer
Who ignores what we feel,
Touch our hands together
And we'll 'fly to the sky,
Live in the clouds
And never ask why,
Just like dreamers do
I fall in love with you,
Just like dreamers do
The Alienation
For your information.
This dance is called The Alienation,
So take my software from your shelf,
And do the dance you do by yourself.
Do the Alienation
First you lock the door to your house
Then you put your hand on the mouse,
Click to the East, Click it to the West,
Click it on the one that you love the best,
Do the Alienation.
At night I cruise the freeways alone,
Computer hooked to my satellite phone,
I send my love message on the Internet.
The craziest dance that you'll ever get.
Do the Alienation
Mama's got one Dad's got one too.
I think I'll get a Computer for you,
Won't we be happy won't it be fine,
When I show you the way we hook up on line.
Do the Alienation.
My system went down the other night'
When you tried to load me with a gigabyte,
Now my hard drive's empty my system's clear.
My hardware's ready for your software,
Do the Alienation.
It is now safe to turn off your computer.

Last Sunday A received her AA degree, which to the relief of this Lizard, has nothing to do with Alcoholics Anonymous, as worthy as that organization is.
In fact it was a ceremony to celebrate her movement to UCSD next September, and her intent to study for a degree in Biochemistry.
The degree ceremony was held at the Jenny Craig Arena at USD. At first I thought it would be outdoors in the apocalyptic heat wave we have been suffering. Lizards having poor body temperature control, I didn't think I would survive the ceremony. But there was wonderful air conditioning, and I survived in comfort, along with N, B and C, P and M. N alone failed to find the ceremony too long at nearly three hours.
Just once I would like a commencement speaker to announce the intention of being Long and boring and surprise us by being brief and entertaining. There is no surprise when those who promise to be brief bore us silly. The only surprise was that this years graduates were not exhorted to save the world, but merely told that careful planning leads to superior 'net worth'. which to the surprise of this Lizard has nothing to do with tennis or basketball and everything to do with 'money', I think.
Still, when the band strikes up Pomp and Circumstance my eyes well up with tears, I don't know why and can't help it. So if I miss someone's important ceremony in the future, it's only because I'm too sentimental, not because I don't care.
After the ceremony A removed her gown and revealed shockingly, a red dress appropriate for church. I have no photos so you'll have to believe me. She looked like a beautiful young woman. Now I'm crying again.

The Psycholizard was awake this morning at 9am, sitting at the computer when he noticed a man dressed as a fireman fiddling with the electric connection to the street.. The outfit puzzled me because the meter reader doesn't usually dress that way, and his uniform was much dirtier than the usual fireman. I exited by the front door and noticed the smoke. Fireman don't wear clean clothes when they do their real work.
Smoke poured from Y's unit in the front apartments. A crowd of onlookers and and many firemen gathered in front, and a burnt mattress in the front lawn told most of the story. The electric cord on a heater had been poorly repaired, the resulting short set the mattress on fire. Her dog was alone was in Y's apartment, but her neighbors were friends with a key who let her dog out, and another neighbor had a fire extinguisher and the judgment to break a window and spray the fire out from outside before the fireman arrived.
This mattress fire spread smoke throughout the apartment and the firemen also gave a few squirts of the hose. This made a mess, but it could have been so much worse. The Nananator was in good form, and a crew of the usual suspects was assembled to clean up. B. and A., T., H. and R. from next door, plus many of Y.'s friends gathered to help her get her apartment in shape so that she is spending the night there tonight;

The Lizards overcame some real obstacles to put on a fun show last night at the Javanican Coffee House in Pacific Beach.
The dificulties started when the Lizardmobile was towed from behind Lizard Central. Luckily Lordlizard was there to give me a lift to the show. Though he also parked where I did, for some reason they didn’t tow his van. I knew it was a tow zone, but I was baited into parking there by the derelict cars that were allowed to decompose there for months. These cars are still there.
The Lizards were further challenged by the absence of J. D. who didn’t leave for Virginia as we once thought, but was actually in the local hospital with a nervous breakdown. We don’t know why he missed this show, we hope he didn’t suffer a relapse.
I felt a little sick, but Dan Strum and Lordlizard picked up the slack after I played a half hour or so. Dan played "Pancho and Lefty’ by Townes Van Zandt, a personal favorite of mine. Lordlizard gave an electric guitar performance of ’Suicide Bomber’ and other tunes. We will solve the amplification problems when we play there next time. Thanks to all who attended.
The Lizardmobile was released from jail after a serious payment of money.

Category: Parties and Nightlife
We had two big parties last weekend in Lizardland, First the Pizza Concert Saturday Night, and then the 50th birthday celebration for B. on Easter Sunday.
The Lizard Show at the Bella Roma enjoyed improved attendance from the previous Saturday, over forty were in attendance. As before, it featured highly original performances from favorites of the local coffeehouse performance scene. Andrew Lovely, Ted Friedman, Dan Strum, Celia St. Croix and Scott West all performed live versions of their originals.
Unfortunately J. D. the virtuoso guitarist featured in the first two Bella Roma lizard shows, has apparently left town without telling anyone here. Last we talked to him he seemed to be sliding toward a nervous breakdown so no one is shocked, but we are concerned and disappointed. We hope he traveled to his brother in Virginia. The live recording we made in February may be the last one with that lineup. He can really play.
B.’s Fiftieth birthday coincided with Easter this year, so his party was especially big. We held it in the backyard of Lizard Central So B. could enjoy not having his own place messed up. There was a large turnout. P. and J. Ju and Jy. arrived from N. City M. came with her clan, A. A., and R. F. made his first visit to Lizard Central.
Strangely A. A. didn’t spend the whole time trying to get R. F. to talk about the bad old days, He has learned a few graces.
Of course Lordlizard, myself, N. and B.’s complete clan all attended. P made a large cake with columns. Psycholizard could not help but to sniff that the "Dorian" columns were lacking in proportion. A. pointed out that the cake was "Neo" classical, and that true ’Classical’ cake might become stale over the centuries. It was made with fresh strawberries and delicious.
The weather here is wonderful, the party lasted into the night outdoors.
Tonight I walked to the beach in a delightful and mysterious fog, this really is a great city, I wish you all could be here.

I neglected this blog as I produced the three Bella Roma musical shows. I enjoyed the shows but I think I will just try to book my own act in the future. I really enjoyed the performers I invited, but there really wasn’t time for all the acts I booked. The recording of the first show was a great success and truly documents the amazing songwriting talent that we hear at the open mikes I attend.
Lordlizard celebrated his thirty ninth birthday last Sunday, the afternoon after the Lizard show. Most of the local clan attended. P. arrived from N. City with Ju and Jy, Scum arrived separately. Also B. with A., P. and M.. C. arrived with his young B. who is now quiet but talking a little. J.P. arrived a bit late. Nana and myself were there of course.
Now P. is here preparing for B.’s Birthday party next Sunday. She’s battling the bugs and dirt to prepare a big cake for B’s birthday to practice for the big twenty five year anniversary in June.
I’ll keep you posted.

The Psycholizrds entertained their largest throng last Saturday at the Bella Roma at Windansea. There were eight acts total, and the total crowd was over forty. The performers were all at their best and each one had a very original approach with many new tunes.
The Psycholizard enjoyed the show more than anyone since he selected the acts. The amazing singing songwriter talent of the Coffeehouses of San Diego performed at this show for pizza and a lizard shirt. In music as in love the things beyond price are free. Not only were the musicians talented but they were all really nice people.
C. and W. recorded and Videotaped the acts and we are now waiting for the results. I will send copies as soon as they are ready.
I had such a good time that I intend to have another show, perhaps next month, rest assured that followers of this blog will be among the first to know.

Chaos reigns in N city as B. continues her visit. Once again we hear from P the plan to bring O. home. M. O.'s friend is now here from Bakersfield, and as usual when B. is there the house starts to fill up. J. next door is very concerned because he would never have rented to B., let alone all of the people she likes to bring home. He talks of giving P. notice before a group of drug users move in and force him to evict. We hope it won't come to that.
When she first arrived B. talked of a court date that she must make shortly, we are not exactly sure when. Does anyone out there know more? Personally I don't even know what name she is using now. She now drives a rented van and we thought Idaho suspended her license. B. might take this vehicle for her own If she follows previous patterns of behavior, and leave P with the bill.
All these disasters might be avoided if we can persuade her to make her court date in Idaho, if anyone has information or influence now is the time to use it. Perhaps call P. or myself. I don't think I have much influence on B. since we are not speaking. I worry about M. O.'s friend, I don't know her, and I remember how P. and B worked together to swindle P. when O. first became hospitalized. Now they are talking of bringing O. home and B. and M. caring for her. Last I knew they were both very Ill themselves.
The weather is beautiful here and the show on the twenty third is on schedule. Lordlizard is tuning up the tonsils for the big show. Hope you can make it, if you can't C. is videotaping.

Category: Blogging
This may surprise everyone but the Lizard has been busy, and as a result has failed to update the blog, with the Super Bowl, Super Tuesday, plans for the Lizard show and the arrival of B, there is lots of news.
The Super Bowl was a shocker for the Eastern side of the Lizard World, for once The Lizards were supporting the favorites because we didn't want suffering in the Boston area. Still the Giants made the tackles they had to make, and the game was a classic defensive struggle that caused this Lizard to sleep through halftime and the third quarter only to find the score unchanged.
As mentioned earlier, the Psycholizard supports Obama, and opposition to the war chased him from under the rock to actually campaign.in the suddenly important California primary. The highlight was at the victory party, where Obama supporters paid up to twenty dollars for shirts just like the Lizard shirts, only they had "Obama" on them. The money was for the campaign, and they were auctioned by a beautiful young woman, which explains the price. Obama did well on Tuesday, though he failed to carry California, and he may move on to be the nominee, which would mean more effort in the general election.
B. has arrived from Idaho to the delight of O. and P., and the concern of everyone else. There is none of the absurd talk about her caring for O. that we heard before. J. is keeping track from next door. Word was she asked to drive the old Lizardmobile, the world missed a comedy when J. refused. That wagon really takes special ability to drive. Lordlizard reports that she is thinner and healthier looking. She must return to Idaho for a court hearing. She tells a story of a white dust filled baggie that she "found" somewhere. Because her mother believed everything she said as a child, she can't tell a lie that the court will believe, or know when no one will believe her. Perhaps she might take a helpful refresher course, Lying 101. Yale must feature this course, Judging from the only true skill of their most famous current graduate, our president.
L. reports that she is recovering, either because of or in spite of her treatment, her double vision has improved markedly, and she can talk more easily. Incredibly she missed less than two weeks of work. Some have said she is related to me.
The big Lizard show is the twenty third, I hope everyone can make it. I've been busy trying to get some other acts to help me. C. and T. are coming from the Valley and she will bring a video camera to record. I practice, Watch out.
