This thing blew me away. Early 80's sounding dago hardcore from Puerto Rico. The Crudos comparison is undeniable; both scream in spanish and are channeling the finest moments of Indigesit and Declino; however, Tropiezo is more technically proficient and the recordings are higher quality than Crudos'. This is not supposed to act as a discography but a collection of songs from 2000 till now. I'd never checked out this band until now and am glad I did. Really cool Shit.

TROPIEZO/ LA ARMADA ROJA split Cd (Discos de hoy)
I love TROPIEZO, but this time, it's probably their best recording to date ! It's still very fast Hc-punk sung in spanish, full of urgency and enthousiasm, but it seems like they added a couple extra melodies to their music. Excellent ! It's the first time I ever get to listen to a band from the Dominican republic, and LA ARMADA ROJA really took me by surprise ; not only are their songs very well written and produced, but their songs are pretty old schoool too. They're really good. At times they remind me of old argentinean bands like AUTOCONTROL or NO DEMUESTRA INTERES. Powerful old school Hc mixed with punk-Hc, with a couple guitar solos and chanted choruses here and there. They'd be absolutely perfect if the vocalist would scream less. Lyricwise, both bands tend to show that the Caribeans aren't always the paradise people think they are. Buy this Cd at any cost ! http://www.discosdehoy.com (Yann)

Absolutely essential, fast-as-hell hardcore from Puerto Rico. Sixteen tracks clearing in sexteen minutes! This is the fucking shit! From what I can make out of the packaging, the lyrics seem to be of a political nature and their packaging is kind of cool, if awkward. It's a wide booklet with goofy cartoons in it. Nut, whatever, who fucking cares about their packaging? This is seriously some of the best hardcore i've heard in a long time. Everybody I've played this for has been all, "Dude! What the hell is this?!" So, I'm far from being alone in being stoked. I don't care if you don't listen to hardcore anymore and just listen to 9insert more listenable punk subgenre here) these days. Hell, that wouldn't be too far from my own situation. Just sayin' if you don't get into this, you don't like punk rock. Yeah it's like that.- Craven Rock (self- released)

You get hardcore that changes tempos and rhythms on a dime, delivered by a band that loves the wild, spastic end of that genre's spectrum. TROPIEZO has been around for some time now and have put out several releases. Agrressive, full-throttle harcore sung in spanish. Good shit here, with really quick and intricate changes that enhance the overall sound on this disc. Lyrically, TROPIEZO delivers an interesting perspective on hot issues of today, without flattering everything or pamphleteering; what a relief. Nice packaging- this disc comes with a nicely printed comic-style booklet. Good fucking record from La Isla de Puerto Rico. (MS)

damn, i almost realize this record, but i was out of money, and was having so much project to participate to it. we got a Porto rico punk HC band, which throw us 16 tracks, in 15 minutes, which make us think about Los crudos, but also to south american bands as setiembre once, opus dead... the packaging is pretty cool, with a booklet/ cover in color (italian format), containing lyrics, and drawing, the whole is very politized, and thi sis a release between 20 labels, so get it on!
