Do you know that 26,000 children die each day from the effects of hunger and hunger-related causes?  Do you know that there are organizations out there trying to reduce that number and succeeding?  Eight years ago, I heard about the 30 Hour Famine for the first time.  At that time the number was 29,000 children die each day from hunger and hunger-related causes.

My daughter has set up a Facebook group for her 30 Hour Famine efforts this year.  Please check it out and, if you can, donate.  It's a small thing but means so much to so many.

Well, after being out nearly a year, I finally got another review on the first book in my Gypsy Legacy Series, The Marquis.  And, the very next day, I got the first review on the second book, The Duke.  Both very good reviews.

Long and Short of It - (The Marquis; 5 books and LASR Book of the Week) "...a first-class historical novel... I love a good historical..., and Ms. Patrick is fast becoming one of my favorite authors in the genre. Not only are her plots filled with living-breathing characters (at least they seem that way) but her plots are always intricate and involved. ..Tina and Jay are a true match in more ways than one. I enjoyed every moment I spent with them: the passion, the excitement, the suspense…the love. Wonderful couple worthy of being together. ..The Marquis is a delightful book of following your heart vs. following your destiny. I'm so excited!!  My newest book released today.  Gypsy Legacy: The Duke is Book 2 in my Gypsy Legacy series.  The heroine is probably my favorite one of the ones I've written.  So, I hope everyone will hop on over to Samhain Publishing and pick up a copy today. . .or tomorrow. . .or the next!

I'm still walking on air from yesterday's CAPA Winner announcements.  Why?  Because Adopting Alyssa won the Inspirational Romance category.  Now, don't get me wrong, I love this story and many other people have told me how much they have loved it, too.  But, I looked at the competition and thought, "Those are wonderful stories, too."

So, I'm overwhelmed and grateful to the reviewers at The Romance Studio for their vote of confidence.

It's hard to believe that it's 2008 already.  What happened to 2007?  But, I'm looking forward to lots of great things happening this year.

As I said in my previous post, Adopting Alyssa is an EPPIE Finalist, and I can add CAPA Nominee to the list, too.  Things are just getting better and better.

I'm still waiting to hear from my editor about the next book in my Gypsy Legacy Series, but I'll be blogging about it as soon as I know.

Lastly, my next Inspirational, Strikes Don't Matter, will be released at the end of this month.  If you've read Adopting Alyssa, you'll be glad to get your hands on Strikes - it's Gina's story.

It's hard to believe that in just a little more than two days, my first Victorian will be released.  How exciting is that?!?!  This book has been a long time coming and I'm so excited to see it here.
