Yup.
I do.
I try.
But's it's hard.
Miami is where we are.
Me, Dylan, and Mar.
Playing songs for folks and generally basking in a temperate Miami winter.
We pulled into town on saturday morning and have been running ever since. I feel like the last 2 days has been a steady stream of planes, cars, music, and problem solving.
We played a show. It was good... it was against all odds but I'd call it a win... or at least a draw. Tough room but we're a tuff band. Rock and roll ain't always a stroll in the park. Sometimes you gotta hike through the tall grass. Makes you stronger.
We've been taken care of by my buddy Noel folks, Tim and Sharon. They've put us up for the week in their guest condo. It's on the 18th floor with a vast, breathtakingly panoramic view of a clear blue ocean. A dude could get spoiled in a place like this.
Mad thanks to both our hosts. They've fed us, sheltered us and essentially turned a tour into a vacation with their hospitality. Tim and Sharon are awesome.
We had the day off today and tomorrow me and the guys are going ocean fishing so I'll probably have a little mo' pep in my step by tuesday.
Three more shows left.
Carpe Diem folks... Carpe friggin' Diem.
Peace.

I feel very close to something.

I am not sober.
Not at all.
But sometimes it's just gotta be like that.
I am sitting in Pauls kitchen.
Paul is he owner of Lulu's(the bar we played) and bass player of the Wall-o-Matics(the band we played with).
It's been a good night.
Many CD's were sold.
Many tunes were played.
Many nice people were chatted with.
Many good times were had by all.
I'm drunk.
We played like a mug. We played the shit out that shit man. It's gettin' doper.
Thanks to Lulu's and it's cast and crew.
Goodnight.
P.S. Richmond is the shit.
Sleep will come soon son soon I'll bloom under who I'll become. Weep won't be me I'll see victory even through eyes blood red like rum. Soar out yonder ponder things of wonderous times your short to know. Things like sea life, things like fire light, things like long nights beautiful. Seriously... Goodnight.

So here we are again.
I'm on my sisters couch, in Maryland, typing, watching her dog freak out. Blogs are pretty silly. If your reading this... HEY!!! HALLO!!!
The band just woke up and their big asses are clumping around in the kitchen living up to their namesake.
We played our first show of this little tour last night in New York. It was really good times. Big ups to Jessica, Joi, Katie, John, and all the other folks at Spike Hill. You guys rock.
We friggin' tore that place down. It was our first show, so it was a bit loose, but fun as hell. I wasn't quite there vocally so I had to stress to hit some notes but that's the breaks some nights. Phil Rodriguez helped us out on trumpet and Alana Sweetwater was in the audience cheering us on. (If you don't know them, too bad for you.)
Ahhhh. What to write.
Oh! A dope thing happened! We were done the show and just generally causing havok around the bar when Marlon and Dylan decide that we should perform Margie for a gang of folks. (We didn't do it during the set and people were asking for it.)
So we do it outside on the street. A big group of people gathered around and we freaked that shit hobo style. Then, on the very last note of the song a girl walked into the middle of the crowd and handed me a boquet of flowers and just walked away. I have no idea who this girl was, but if she's out there... Thanks. That was a rad moment for me.
We had no place to stay last night in New York so we drove the 3 hours back here to Maryland at one in the morning. Ah, the life of an underground band!
Now, on to Richmond Virginia, Lulu's, and the Wall-O-Matics. Peace.
Count down. Three two one. Free to run. I see you son. The only one. Your lonely road. Your going it slow. But Count down. Yes Count down.

I'm back at my sisters kitchen table typing another blog...I can honestly say I never thought I would type that combination of words.
Anyway, here I sit. Two more shows of the tour done. A couple more hours of car time farting on the rest of the band and 3 gallons of tea coarsing through my veins.
Where to start?
Sonoma's in Columbia was a fun, if strange, show. It was enjoyed by everyone, and we picked up Phil Rodriguez in New York, so we had some funky-powerful-trumpet action brassin' the place up.
I played ok and The Steppers were there, normal, dope-selves. I guess it was strange because the whole thing went down in Columbia village center and I had folks there that knew me when I was running naked through the sprinklers in the front yard. It was a real blast from my past.
Now onto Virginia.
Lulu's was, probably, the most fun we've had on tour so far. We were quite unexpectedly treated to a free Hotel room and food and the bar kicked us out a little piece of the door.(A surprise little bonus.)
Not only did they take care of us but Paul and all his crew were just really nice people. (If you don't know "Paul" go to Millie's or Lulu's in Richmond Virginia. He owns them both and I recommend either.)
A special thanks goes to all of the members of the Wall-o-Matics. They gave us the middle between their two sets and were kind enough to let us sit in on a few tunes during there last.
Wall-o-Matics...You guys rock.
Now here I am.
In the kitchen.
Typing.
Ahhh, memories.
One more show to go, then back to La La Land.
Peace.

What up.
Mom...If your reading this "Love You."
And now the rest of you retards...
How y'all doing?
I'm writing this in my little sisters kitchen. It's late. The band is downstairs watching some movie. I've missed like 3 tour dates on this friggin' blog so I'll fill you in quickly 'cause I'm missing whatever-the-hell movie their watching.
HERE GOES!!!
JULY 4 THE THRILL'O AT ARMADILLO'S
We completely dropped a bomb on Armadillo's. They didn't know what hit 'em. The crowd wasn't huge but it's a fairly small room and everyone there was into it. Marlon and Dylan played great and I was feelin' it hard. Good stuff.
JULY 5 SLOW GOINGS AT BARE BONES
It was a rough start at this one. Some of the crowd was older and weren't really into it and our first set wasn't our best. I kinda jacked the band up tryin' to jam stuff out longer to fill time and I was forcing it too hard.
Shit's gotta feel natural, you know? We had so much time to fill and I was tryin' to do my job but shit's gotta feel natural or what's the point.
All was not lost though. Second set we got pulled it together and the older folks either drank more or left and we kicked ass. The jaming became more organic and we fell into a dope rythmn.
Last set was just a blast.
My end of this-night-synopsis: A lot of fun with a little lesson.
JULY 6 BACK IN THE BIG APPLE
Drove all the way back to New York to play at "The Living Room" at 7 o'clock. Alana and I did a joint set with the Heavy Steppers.
She played and then I played two with her and then I played. All the while Dyl and Mar held it down with a cast of other characters including one Phil Rodriguez.
If you don't know him, listen to my record, listen to the trumpet on Garden and Mixtro, close your eyes.........Now you know him.
We rocked out but my pipes were a bit soar. I didn't sleep the night before and I was feeling it. Won't make that mistake again. Still, a good show. Audience responded well and I got to hang out with some friends. Our new song "Silent Treatment" is humping right now! That room loved it.
Sold a couple CD's.
That's about it.
More stuff happened in between all that but I don't think I gotta document every-damn-thing.
Now.
The movie sounds cool from up here so I'm done typing.

Good-groggy-mornin' folks.
Killed it last night! There wasn't anybody there but we killed it just the same. The couple of folks that were there flipped there lids.
During the show a dude came up to the stage and bought a CD. He had his 3 year old with him and apparently they were just walking down the street, heard us and thought, "this is rad...I want a copy of this."
He listened for like 3 songs and split. That is bad ass.
Let see, what else...
We sold some shirts and stuff. They collected money from everyone at the bar and hit us off with a little somethin'-somethin'. Apparently that is a New York thing. LA needs to take a lesson in that shit. It made me feel like a million dollars and it was just a couple bucks.
Alana played with the Steppers as well and they threw down. It was awesome to share the stage with her. She is dope.
Marlon's mom came out. She is also dope.
Gene Miller and Wes Dixon were there as well. Dope and dope as well. (If you don't know who some of these people are...to bad for you.)
Other than that, we partyed like the underground, completely unknown rockstars we are.
Now my head hurts, it's early, and I gotta load the truck. MARYLAND HERE WE COME!
Peace.

Current mood: bouncy
So here it is.
Everyone is saying I should "blog" or whatever-the-hell to document this tour. I don't know who in the hell would read this but I'm gonna do it for you whoever you are.
I don't know what to type.
We're in New York city. Our first show is tonight. The band is rehearsing with Alana Sweetwater in the next room and my belly is all full of macaroni and milk shake. The show starts in like 2 hours.
We're staying with Alana while we're in town. The view of the city from her roof top at night is friggin' dope. We all sat up there last night drinking, smoking, and looking at the lights. It was pretty nice.
Me and Dylan got lost yesterday on the subway. Sweet. We are really smart guys. I'm pretty sure we actually ended up in Toronto.
So far there has been a lot of driving, eating, farting, and looking at girls. It's been awesome. Tonight the music starts. FINALLY!!!
PREPARE YO' SELF NEW YORK!
More to come...(Unless I get bored with this typing crap. My wrists already hurt.)

THE MINT
It's 3:30 in the and I am just getting settled for the night after playing the Mint. I don't think I actually need sleep to survive anymore. I might be over the whole "R.E.M." thing. It's probably overrated anyway... I figgin love that room. I think it went well despite my cold and the reaction of everybody listening was great. Big thanks to every single person that came out and made me feel loved. You guys are the shit. Your support means alot.
