Many of you know that Ryan has decided to pursue other interests including school and he has started his own band... Well RT has finally found the proper replacement for good ol' Ryan.... So we stumbled across Matt Rooney.... his dad "Brian Rooney" happens to be one of the most in demand bass players in town, and it is very evident that good musicianship is in the genes.... Ragtop is back in the studio currently finishing up writing, and rough cuts....

peace out peeps

It is interesting when Jeremy talks about guitar gear with people because he has owned so many guitars, amps and pedals in the 14 years he has been playing guitar.... Jeremy has described himself as a gear whore and claims to have G.A.S. (gear acquisition syndrome) alot... Kathleen Turk thought it would be interesting to post a blog of all of Jeremy's guitars and amps.... although it is rather long it is not as long as we all thought.... below is a list of the guitars and amps that Jeremy has owned including a link to his acoustic guitar being built RIGHT NOW by Vince Pawless.... Jeremy loves old guitars and amps and he would rather buy used than new.... some of the guitars had names which are in the description.... For the record Jeremy is a huge fan of Telecasters, they are his primary guitars, he also thinks you can't go wrong with Takamine acoustics they are durable guitars for the road, sound great on stage and worth the money, and he regrets getting rid of his 90's Tele thinline, G&L Asat, 1997 Strat Plus, U.S.A. Tele 2003, and his Silver Sparkle Duesenberg, Jeremy also encourages you to call him if you find a good deal on a guitar and recomends hitting Pawn shops, craigs list, and garage sales to find GREAT deals, or you can possibly even find your dream amp hidden behind a coke machine in an antique mall (right Eric...) The current guitars that he owns are in bold letters Enjoy the List!!!!

Alright Guys and Gals, This Friday at the Corner Pub in Beautiful Downtown Conroe...... The original Ragtop (Eric, Ryan "retard" and Jeremy) with possibly a special guest will be making their first appearance TOGETHER since march... We are gearing up for some upcoming shows and POSSIBLY going back in the studio to bring out some new material that we are very excited about....  This will also be the first show together for RT since the heads of the band have been clear of unnecessary chaotic bull shit....  We are very exctited about bringing the chemistry back together minus the BS and maybe just maybe the Patron brothers will stop by... you spend almost four years of your life living and playing music together with the same group of guys and magic starts to happen..... Come out on Friday night and enjoy the magic with us... the show starts around 9:00 pm... hope everyone makes it for this special night..... I am getting a little too emotional and now it is time to stop.....  by the way we will have cds at the show and possibly be giving quite a few out sooooooo if you have not gotten the "Wheels Down" cd Friday would be a good oppurtunity to pick one up.... And there will not be a cover charge either....

Peace OUT

Hey everyone, this is Eric.  Let me start by saying, Never say Never.  I quit RagTop back in November and thought I would never be writing one of these blogs again.  I also thought I would never take the stage with RagTop again and what do you know.  Saturday, RagTop will take the stage for the last time.  Not only will yours truly be playing bass but our original lead guitar player Joe Wells will be joining us also.

The show will be at Gary’s Spot in Tomball which is very fitting.  We have a lot of good memories there and Gary has always been a great friend to us.  The show starts at 9 with Any Hughes and the Dirty Seven opening.  As some of you know, Joe plays guitar for them so come out and get a double dose of Joe.

As far as calling it quits, here is the scoop.  Tyler Kutter took over playing bass in November.  He is now in the police academy and that takes up a lot of his free time.  The reason I am playing bass is because he will be in training Saturday night.  Ryan Byrd took a great offer from his job which includes him going back to school this summer.  So as of now, it just seems like RagTop should call it quits for the forseable future.  But as I said, never say never.

So come on out Satirday and catch the original 4 at one of our favorite past times.  Funny how it all comes back around eventually.  I’m sure it will be a night of a few tears, lots of laughs.  It will definately be a night where you can see four guys who set out with big dreams three years ago playing there hearts out.  Oh, and most of those dreams came true.  Much love to all of you who helped make that happen.

Well everyone knows that Eric has stepped down which left us in "Dire Straits" but Ragtop has been fortunate to get Tyler Kutter as our new Bass Player.... Tyler has been around RT since the beginning he told Eric that if he ever stepped down that he would be jumping into his spot... Tyler was not lying.... "he knows all the chords, mind he's strictly rhythm he doesn't want to make it cry or sing" And Eric has even been kind enough to not only give his blessing but also assist Tyler in the everlasting hunt for perfect tone.... For those non musicians that don't understand, that means Eric is letting Tyler run his bass gear for a while to see how Tyler likes it..... Tyler will deffinately bring a different flavor to RT "dressed in his best brown baggies and platform soles." and as many of ya'll know Ryan, Eric and I met through church..... Well in order to stick with tradition, Ryan, Eric, and I met Tyler during that same period of our lives..... Ryan and Tyler were both a few years behind me.... But it was Ryan's dad Tim Byrd that helped put my first band "Consider Job" together which consisted of me Jeremy Bankhead, Russell Wedelich, and Ryan Kutter...... did anyone notice the last name Kutter..... Tyler is Ryan's younger brother..... Ryan is now the worship leader at The Ark Family Church in Conroe...... Yes this is apparently one big musical circle....... Tyler's first show with RT will be December 1st at Papa's on the Lake trying to get that "money for nothing" and he will be playing again the following week at the The Corner Pub December 8th.... come and check us out "the boy can play"..... and for those interested, keep your ear to the ground you just might hear "Consider Job" start poking it's head up only this time Ryan will be "banging on them bongos like a chimpanzee..."

Peace

As of Saturday night in College Station Eric made it official :( He has quit RagTop..... Yes we are all sad and now Ryan and I have to figure out how to hook up the P.A. and for the record there was no screaming match or anything he just bowed out and said he needs to focus on his family.... So Eric we wish you well.... To bad you didn't get to go out with a bang though right......

Comments are welcome to show Eric some love.....

Peace,

Friday night was everything that RagTop hoped for and more.  Words can not express our appreciation to all of you who came out and made it the biggest night of our band.  I looked out into the crowd and could see at least ten faces that were at our show two years ago at The Sidecar Pub.  A lot has changed since that night.  Those of you who have stuck with us these past couple of years are very special to us and we feel that we owe you a lot.  A lot of new fans have jumped on this ride over the last couple of years and we love having you.  We promise a lot of good times to come.  Thanks Perry and The Papa's Staff for having the only venue big enough in our hometown of Conroe to hold this event.  Wow that was a huge crowd.  We love it out there on the lake and look forward to many more shows there.  We also owe a big thanka to Josh Sandoval for getting things started that night.  You are a hell of a writer and entertainer.  We do expect a few more colaborations on the next RagTop album.  Jolynn, Jannita, Peggy, and the rest of the crew running the product table did a great job and we really appreciate you.  Adam, thanks for handling the sound and fixing all our problems.  We couldn't have done it without you.  But again, thanks to all of you who came out to celebrate releasing Wheels Down, our debut album.  We hope it was worth the wait.  I know I've said it before but it is true, our success will not come without your support.  We hope Friday night was a special for you as it was for us.  We love all of you and look forward to seeing you at the next RagTop show.

Hey everyone, the week is finally here.  2-1/2 years of RagTop and we will finally have a cd out this week.  Right now we are busy planning out Friday night and I promise you are in for an unforgettable night.  Some of you have asked what you can do to help out.  Well, a few of you have posted blogs inviting your friends out and we really appreciate that.  Please, call your friends or post blogs and help us turn this into the biggest night in RT history.  Friday night, Papa's on the Lake.  Josh Sandavol takes the stage at 8 and don't miss him.  He is by far one of my favorite performers and songwriters.  Peace, Eric
